Ok how long does it take to fully charge the player because i charge it and the red charge light on the cradle turns off in like 15 minutes and the player lasts like only 4 hours.

am i doing something wrong or do i have to change the settings on the player?

Taking 15 min is normal, it's mentioned in the manual. Try using the player until battery is completely dead then charge it up fully (about 2.5 hours, note that the red light goes out before then...leave it charging anyway). Then you should get the full charge, at least that works for me.

One more thing: if battery duration is important for you, you can do some things to maximize. Encode tracks for the player at ATRAC3 (132kbbs). Turn off sound enhancements. Leave player in "hold" while playing. Don't do anything that causes the backlight to come on, or better yet just turn it off.

All these ideas are mentioned in the manual, as I recall. Hope that helps!

PS Have you been getting the "ooh, what's that" response from people about your player? I still do with my MS70D. Folks don't believe it when I tell them how old it is.

I think it's great to see that people are still using those old fashioned walkmans.... It's kinda 'retro'

I own a old PCDP from sony (no walkman series though) and an really ''retro'' Casette walkman!!..

It's the history of or beloved walkman, if not of the whole portable audio market!!

I just think they're cool in a way... we store all historical items, why not the walkmans too?

some history book in a library in 2506: ''Sony Walkman, those who gave the world portable audio, 500 years ago.''

some museum guide in 2506: ''On your right you see the Sony TPS-L2 walkman, the device that created portable audio as we know it today.''

wouldn't that be fun :P
