Yaaa, I agree with you that SONY WALKMAN overtake iPod much more.And I like the SQ of the S700/600 and A800.

SQ, design, just about any specification that u can think of for a player, sony has designed it right, well sure we know the complaint part about the software. i think in Asia region in particular in China and nearby regions, the influence of ipod is building, just like KFC, Macdonald and cola entered China few decades ago. I think Chinese buy ipod for a different reason compare to the Western consumers, unfortunately Chinese buy ipod because they want to chase whatever Americans are upto, not so much like a personal liking or they think it's really great, they can give up the tea for cocktail and vodaka. just some additional comment on this cultural aspect, hehe good thing for America's sell, kind of sad for China's social value.....guess i had too much of these kind of east west encounter discussion in uni lately, no intention on any racist comment

Great work from Sony Japan for NW-S705 and PSP, that's why u shouldn't put that ipod thingy next to them, they just don't look good together, true designs come from Japan. u can say it's the value problem in China, or u can say from another perspective.......like if Chinese people don't buy things from Japan, US and European brands, then they have no choice. For example some Chinese local brand DAP look like a 100% ipod, some look like a PSP, some even try to copy iphone, some try to copy samsung, product quality is unreliable. There is no authentic and individuality for Chinese local brand, from low price product to expensive ones, look at their own DAP brand Meizu, one word hopeless. So for Chinese people who can afford alot, then they will go for Foreign brands (this is market for example all of the companies from Japan, US and Europe try to sell their product to), for people who can't take the price, they go for the local brands (foreign companies do also have cheaper entry level standard products to sell, trying to expand the share).
