its not that bad!....it used to be buggy before but now it works fine....its layout is good but i agree isnt as good as the itunes...all you want to do is just to transfer your songs to the player and its more that devent for it...its simple to use

As for your new sony mp3 player...if you think the ipod had great sound prepare to be dazzled by the sound of it...trust me it whoops the whole ipod range i nsound quality....you wont believe until you hear

enjoy :)

It IS that bad! If one is used to iTunes, Sonicstage is way below iTunes in terms of usability. For those that are comfortable in using iPods and iTunes, don't bother with Sony. There's no point in buying something for a hyped sound quality but unusable software. Of course, if you can get one for a deal, that's another story. :D

ipod can not compare to the design and sound quality of walkman, however ipod has the itune which is easier than sony software, we have heard plenty of complaint over sony software, however right now do we have a choice? plus this forum is a sony fan base, we also have heard plenty of people saying that it has improved, whether u find it easy or nightmare nobody can promoise, good luck, i personally can use the software without any problem

I agree with you. All you will do in SonicStage will be transfering songs, which isn't hard at all. SonicStage, since version 3.4 has never crashed/slowed down on me nor on any of my friends' PCs. The S70x series do have an awesome sound compared to the iPods I have tested which sounded flat. So hey Fahad go ahead and enjoy the sound.

It does what I need it to, nothing more, nothing less. That is to put music on to my atrac device. I'm prepared to put up with inferior software for SUPERIOR sound quality, not hyped sound quality.

Don't agree with this. I have come over from Ipod/Itunes. Yes Itunes is a better software package than Sonic Stage, byt most Sony Products have better Sound quality than their Sony Counterparts. depends what Important to you. Sonic stage will get the music onto your player. I still use Itunes to listen to/buy music, but I've never had any problems with Sonic Stage. Enjoy your new player :D

Well, I buy DAPs to listen to music; thus, the sound quality is the most important factor for me. If this is true for you, you will enjoy this player. Also, most of us, if not all, spend most time in listening music rather than transferring. SonicStage does what it is suppose to do, importing music from your CDs, computers and Online download via Connect, and exporting to your DAP. I really think this is good enough feature, unless one is in love with transferring music rather than actually listening to it.

Also, note that SonicStage isn't the only software you can use with Walkmans; there are other software like BeatJam.

If you understand Japanese, here is the link. You download this software from outside of Japan.

BeatJam 2007

The only down side is that it is not free. But updating version is free though.
