beakster
Is it only me , or do I have an abnormal version of sonicstage? I have used it since version 2.0 without fault or hinderance.I feel left out, why does it always have to be me???
mrgremlin
No, I have the same copy as you. I have used it for years with no problems. I don't know what all the complaining is about. I run it on 5 different computers with different specs and operating systems and sync multiple Sony devices with them and have no problem. This doesn't mean it couldn't be improved but to say the players are great but not buy one because of the software is very poor advice. Zizone_
From a perspective of a person who buys CDs and import via SonicStage, which is the case for me, I haven't faced any problems. It is probably the lack of flexibility compared to other softwares is the source of complaints. Edited July 23, 2007 by Zizone
Old skool D
Amen to that. People are normally quick to complain about SS, but slow to praise it.

Borat
SS works great for me too - never had any problems!

It seem that some people actually have had good experiences with SonicStage, it good to hear.

It is probably the lack of flexibility compared to other softwares is the source of complaints. This goes for me too. I have never bought music online ie. itunes or Connect. If I have to pay for music then I want the uncompressed version, and SonicStage does the job of taking it from the cd and putting it on to my Walkman. I have never had a problem with SS and as GQ Smooth said in an earlier post a few days ago, it beats sitting in front of your hifi and recording in real time
dura_
I sometimes get the feeling there is some kind of contest out there, something like: "write 100 negative posts about sonicstage, they do not have to be true, and win an ipod!" beakster
People seem to forget that a lot of the functionality that they like about the walkmans (walkmen??), artist link, search by genre, time machine shuffle etc, all stem from SS. I have imported mp3 albums given to me by friends, clicked on "cd info" and gotten all the extra stuff like release dates etc and even the cover art. It just takes a little time to learn how to use it. Who could use microsoft exel etc without any tuition??This functionality just would not happen with "drag and drop". Old skool D
The reason why I buy CDs I have brought via Connect and Itunes, but much prefer CDs as well. I also think in some ways SS works better than Itunes. I get CD info relating to some obscure CDs that I own , that Itunes never regcognises! Shinji Ikeda
I sometimes get the feeling there is some kind of contest out there, something like: "write 100 negative posts about sonicstage, they do not have to be true, and win an ipod!"There are several realities. The easiest way to sum it up is that the first computer virus was written for the Apple II 25 years ago in July 1982. Some people have selective memory. As I state on another post Software does exactly what you tell it to do. DRM has caused a negative image with SonicStage that it seem to not lose. With now it is against any aspect of SonicStage, ignoring any aspect of SonicStage. The release of the B100 on a blog site that I will not mention, sums up this reality that Dura is mentioning. In life you have to make choices, and educated choice is better than going along with the masses.
