It seems like the new Media Manager will be out soon which supports Sony's mobile electronics: Walkman, SE phones, and PSP, according to following link.

SE link

The screen shot shows SE Media Manager but the site says "that there will be a point where all devices - Sony Ericsson Walkman, Sony Playstation Portable and Sony Network Walkman - use this software."

I wonder if this is the software that Sony was talking about (Media Manager for Walkman) in NWZ-810 series in US.

At least there will be one software for all (free software) in addition to WMP11 and drag-n-drop.

and gapless too (for non-atrac codecs that is)! Media Manager will support the Japanese models S71x and S61x and therefore ATRAC. Not sure about the old ATRAC models.

But if you prefer to use software to manage your music, the S610 is compatible with Windows Media Player (supplied) for easy syncing as well as the popular iTunes software (via Drag 'n Drop). Stay tuned for Sony Media Manager software available in few months.

Sonystyle Australia mentioned on media manager for walkman, though it's very short

Yes, I know that NWZ-A810 and NWZ-S610 series supports WMP11. That's why I said Media Manager for Walkman will be yet another option in addition to WMP11 and drag-n-drop.

  • 3 weeks later...

Winamp 5.5 also hit the stage today and the new one window ui looks good if you switch off some stuff ;)

If you fork over the required 19 bucks, you´ll also get very good encoders for aac. I think this program can evolve into something great. It has radio, podcasts and fledging community capabilities.

Can anyone with the new nwz please try to drop a wpl playlist in winamp? Also please try whether it is possible to add aac files to that wpl list. Then transfer the playlist to the attached walkman, please.

Thank you!
