So, It can be suspected that all the folders are displayed when using Windows Explorer, including the archive folders. You seem to have an unique problem. Are where any privileges added to the folders of the directory?

Any plastic screen protector will do, just as long as you trim to the correct size (not too small). I have done this for many of my electronic devices if a screen protector did not exist.

Is Sony leaving the DAP market? No. Sony continues to release new DAP, and even some interesting models exclusively for the Chinese market. It seems as though Sony will sell only a limited number of their DAP to the American Market. Sony has not release an updated version of their HD-DAP in any market. It is possible to get one of Sony's newer players from Canada or off eBay, however Sony America will not provide any support.

You could have started a new post, but that does not make a difference. Here are some suggestions. Exit all programs and remove any media formats for your optical drive. Attach the NW-A808 and then start SonicStage. Please ensure that the songs actually exist in the correct location. If you look at the properties for a track, under the file info tab you will see location:. Please ensure this is correct for songs that you want to transfer. If it is incorrect you may have to return the files to the correct location or rename them.

I have played games on small format non-dedicated devices, and the experience was less than stellar. For me having games on the NW-A800 series Network Walkman, would be a waste of memory. However, having more appealing screener savers would be a welcome addition. It is however possible to have the slide show act as a screen saver. This consumers extra battery life. Sony could make a small tweak (this may be more complicated) to the firmware to improve this feature. The intervals are not long enough between pictures. - By allowing the screen to display a photo for 3-5 seconds then to go blank for 10-15 seconds before displaying the next photo, would be a welcome improve.

What I am saying is that more and more people are using cellphones for their music enjoyment. This is generally younger consumers. However, some are returning to music specific devices. There are obvious reason for this. I have seem people use their cellphones to listen to music while working out, traveling on the train. What I am observation is a vast difference in how people are listening to there music. From your standard radio, to MD player, to DAP and cellphone. With the advent of use of cellphone as primary music player is cost. It is cheap and more convenient that high cost DAP, and that is what consumers choose. Sound Quality, battery life and other features are what consumers will sacrifice to save a few cents. As, stated by you customer base such as afacionados, geeks and so forth when explain the high cost DAP market, is correct. For me more cents in my pocket is important for me, but other things are more important. For other consumers what is best for them is extra dollars in there pockets.

So then why are you agreeing with me. Maybe is the fact that we are on opposite sides of the world. Bangraman, the Apple products fall into the same category as you listed above. I constantly read about the advantages of the Apple's products over the competition, from their DAP to their laptops. It all comes down to consumer choice, this includes all Apple products. As Ceres, stated the high cost of DAPs will only cater soley to a shrinking customer base. Consumers purchase technology based on what they can financially justify (keyword: afford).

SimKill, I would have to totally agree with you on that, but the mouse seems to be trying hard.

SimKill, That was my kind of twisted humour. It just seems to be a funny cat and mouse game. Who would you say is the cat? ...

If the format on the player does not work, I suggest that you take your player back to the store you purchased it. On the screen-shot that you sent displays Free:0.0KB. This suggest that the memory maybe defective. Do not worry about formatting it with SonicStage.
-
Or you can just upgrade to 3.51 and forget about having to find Lumine.
-
Have you gone through the menus on the player and format? You can also attempt to format the player through SonicStage.

There does some to be a strange distortion on the screen. This could be a plastic cover, but it is hard to tell.

I definitely would agree with pata2001 on Sony desire to make money. However, I believe that Sony has been making accessories of the iPod for about a year now. There is nothing strange about this. It can even be considered that Sony started to sell white headphones just for the iPod. I could be wrong, but could be true. Sony speakers are a modified version that Sony manufactured to work with the Network Walkman. With accessories is the only why iPod owners can 'Think different'.

That is interesting. Sony still sells CD players, tape players, and MD. I could have sworn that the last time I was in an Electronic Store that I say some CD players selling for about $30 US Dollars. It should be obvious that the advantages of DAP is not price, and this includes the most popular brand. People are using DAP from other manufactures such as iRiver, Microsoft and many other companies. Additionally, some consumers have been using their cellphones to listen to music, and some of the older technologies. It used to be most consumers made decisions based on what they considered what was best. Whether is was battery life, Sound Quality, size, price, and many other attribute. It seem that now it is only a select few.

Actually, Sony still dominates their spheres. Apple sells the most DAP of any other manufacturer. Sony never planned correctly for the explosion of the digital audio player market. There are several reasons for this. The most affluential consumers prefer to copy music of their CD and transfer them to their DAP than rerecord these same CD to other formats. It is a lot quicker, less error prone. However, the cost for entering this market is quite expressive, since these same consumers require to a computer. The price of purchasing a computer drop. I have know people who have purchased a computer for the purpose of listening to music. Sony needed to protect its other investments, thus Sony introduced different technologies such as MediaGate and SonicStage. I for one refused to purchase Sony DAP and similar products for this reason. I really do not need to have my audio files protected, or have any type of restrictions on them. Apple had no reason to do the same, and thus did not. The length of the iPods domination in the DAP market depends on the will Apple diversifiers there product line, but Apple has proven inept at this. However, for the DAP market this has been very successful for Apple. This might be due to the accessory market for iPod and iPod-nano.

Of the current models of the Sony Network Walkmans, only the NW-A800 series supports bookmarks. Additionally, it is only possible to bookmark a track, and not a specific point in a track. If a track is 24:19 minutes, you can not bookmark that track at 10:00 minutes. The NW-S706 has a bug in it, where it will remember the point that was left off when you go from "search mode" to "all tracks mode" back to "search mode". It is not a feature of the Walkman. All of the current Sony Network Walkmans do however allow the user to resume from the last place that it was left off at. When turning off the NW-S706 (actually this is a sleep mode) all settings are remembered. If you were listening to a specific station on the FM radio.

Looking at the image from your computer the problem does not make any sense. Stupid Question, are you sure that the path is correct? Even if the 'My Music' folder is hidden on my computer it still shows up in SonicStage. You are currently trying to import files into SonicStage. This makes sense. Your other option is to drap-and-drop 'My Music' into SonicStage. This will however take some time.

I must be dating myself, but some of the cassette Walkman were leading edge technology in both design and functionality.

Should I buy the A800? Please advise quickly!
Shinji Ikeda replied to narsaksaskak1's question in Audio
Hello Naraksaskak1, First, on SonicStage has improved much, but still has some quirks. If you have iTunes I suggest that you keep it. One thing that SonicStage is missing is a RSS reader. SonicStage is used only to manage your music before transferring them to the NW-A800 series Walkman. Second, Just drag-and-drop your music library into SonicStage. You can drop the entire folder into SonicStage. I must warn you that it will take time for SonicStage to build your library. So please be patient. If you really want the NW-A800, my advice is to download SonicStage (the English version) first. Then you can get used to SonicStage. -
Congratulation on your new purchase. I would have to agree with GQSmooth, there will not be an iPod killer. Yes, iPod have more third party accessories than any other player. This is due to the popularity of the iPod over the years, and with companies trying to cash in on the popularity of the iPod. Sony need to continue to improve SonicStage for both the neophytes and power users.

Unfortunately, I am in the minority on this issue. I own both the NW-A808 and NW-S706F, both of which I use everyday. The music and other audio tracks are almost identical on both models, with the NW-A808 have more audio casts (the main reason I purchased). So, I hope that some understand my perception.
-
The sound difference between the NW-S700 and NW-A800 is not significant. The sound settings EQ settings for both models are identical. More owners of the NW-S700 and NW-A800 seem to prefer the NW-A800. It may be only 51-49.
-
Sad as it may seem the NW-A800 series only support the listed formats for video playback. Image converter is not required to convert the video files formats that can play on the NW-A800 series. PSPVideo9 is a good software that can transcode your video files to formats supported by the NW-A800 series.

Hello Supergojira, The problem that you are having is missing some information. What do you mean by monitor? What version of SonicStage are you using? With SonicStage version 4.2/4.3 it is possible to drag and drop an entire folder. It is hard to determine what is your frustration, since many of the problems that you are currently having have clear solutions in SonicStage.
