  1. That is mint - please snap a picture of this in action.
  2. Damn. Well, thanks anyways. Time to get hacking!
  3. Hello spb, and welcome to the forums. This may be a problem with the sled or the playback aspect, but it's not really clear (to me) yet. Does this happen with all of your Minidiscs? Did anything else happen to your unit (an unusual drop, etc) that you may have not mentioned?
  4. In your experiences, oz, do you find many artists not comfortable with people sharing high quality recordings of their concerts? Why do I approve of any and all uploads? Because the focus of the Gallery is not of the intent to share music for exploitation, but to show others interested in the format for recording purposes the power of these devices in a variety of scenarios..greenmachine's various clips are a perfect example of this, and exactly what I wanted to see in the Gallery when I first created it.
  5. Don't worry about it, Volta..we're too small to be targetted. Upload as you please, the liability would rest on my shoulders anyways.
  6. I won't lie, people who use adblock bother me - even your views support the sites you visit, please be considerate. I've blended those ads to match the site in the best way possible. I would hope that there are very few active members who do this.. Not sure what's up Adrian, too tired to really care at this point though. I noticed it's not working at engadget.com for what it's worth. EDIT: I just realized my IP configuration wasn't set right at work - I set it back to the proper values and the ads are displaying again.
  7. I've had only a few hours sleep, as the final assignments for my two classes was due last night at midnight - I always work in the clutch. Hurrah to a 1,750 word paper and an eight page Powerpoint presentation. Now I have to sit at work whilst I can barely keep my eyes open.. ..and to top it off the Google Ads aren't displaying for some reason.
  8. Thank you for testing this out! Are you absolutely sure the track was a PCM/wave track that you were trying to upload, and not something recorded in Hi-SP/Hi-LP, etc?
  9. When you click on view new posts, it's within there.
  10. Minidisc Community Forums is proud to present the Hi-MD *.wav importing software for Apple computers, for use with the MZ-M100 and MZ-M10 Hi-MD units ONLY. Remember, this software can ONLY facilitate PCM recorded uploads; no Hi-SP/Hi-LP uploads are permitted. http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=46 (you must be registered with the forum to download this file) Dale Greer has generously submitted a review of a Mac to Minidisc. Further information about Apple computers and Minidisc can be found here, along with Minidisc Community Portal. Various screenshots: [attachmentid=720][attachmentid=721]
  11. Yes, definitely. Nothing else but the unit itself is necessary. To firmware upgrade, they would have to have a stable source of power, more than a battery could provide.
  12. Indeed, I will be releasing the program and a review of it this weekend. Stay tuned.
  13. I don't have a second generation unit, but I'm sure someone will answer this for you.
  14. I have updated the original topic with a link to super high resolution pictures and a better announcement from Sony PR.
  15. Davidrobe, that's the point of the thread. I don't think anyone here agrees with this dolt; it's so suprising though, as Mr. Thurott has really taken a 180 degree turn in his general opinion about various products. He has been very loud this year and if you run some Google searches you'll see what I mean. Pata - it's disappointing for sure. The only genuine site I know of that can actually review these devices with some degree of unbiased opinion and credible tech knowledge is DAPReview. It will be difficult for this culture to ascend from comparing everything released to the iPod, as it's topical discussion that brings people in troves to generate more ad revenue.
  16. Real USB charging is standard on second generation units, like the MZ-RH10..
  17. I have strict confirmation that this unit is definitely USB2.0, a first for Sony.
  18. Interesting. Well, we're here for you if you need any further help.

  20. ChrisOhio42, welcome to the forums. Mind telling us a little more about who you're affiliated with and their background with Minidisc? It's always interesting to hear how MD is used professionally.
  21. Drastic changes indeed. Personally, I'm not very fond in regards to the design of this unit. My girlfriend really seemed to like it and expressed interest in obtaining one. It's so tiny!
  22. Only audio recorded with a Hi-MD unit in Hi-MD mode can be uploaded unlimited times.
  23. C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage\Data\Image\se
  24. Thank you, this is really nice information. If you could in the future, post all other non-Minidisc ATRAC discoveries like this at ATRACLife Colloquium. Furthermore, I have taken the liberty of using some of your images and links to create this post, here. Please continue discussion there.
  25. Click on images to enlarge them.. [photos courtesy of spex] Super high resolution images are available here. From the offical Sony PR wire: This unit is also the first USB2.0 ATRAC device released by Sony. Finally! Originally revealed by a friend at Minidisc Community Forums.
