LOL, you are truly crazy child! Why did you buy another iPod? You said you had the money, but seriously, why not an upgrade for something else? Do you really use them both? p.s. sounds like mud portable rig [in your sig]? :rasp:

Go over this site: http://www.sony.net/Products/Hi-MD/ You'll learn a bit, including the answer for your inquiry.

Try downloading one of these that is relevant to your O/S: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results...&DisplayLang=en If that doesn't work then make sure your windows is updated. windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Hopefully someone with this unit will be able to assist you. Welcome to the forums.

How can I import tracks from a CD as one track?
Christopher replied to Fast Eddie's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
For best results, I would just record optically in a 1:1 realtime scenario [using a toslink cable and a soundcard with digital out, or like with a device such as the Xitel DG2] and record, then remove all the trackmarks on the unit itself. That should do the trick.. -
You can't merge tracks if they were written by NetMD. If you were to record them optically [1:1 realtime recording] or in an analog configuration, then yes you could.
-
Indeed, and I adore this unit. It's the NH900. Anyone here can have an avatar btw, I don't understand why more don't..just go to your "profile" [button at the top left of this forum].

Yes, take a screencap for us. Don't actually display the image in a thread, just link it.
-
I would love to hear your impressions. Asthetically it's a really fine unit. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT install Sonicstage 1.5, but Sonicstage 2.

So, the program crashes [on the fresh install] after you try to transfer a song?

Then I definitely recommend our sponsor, Minidisco. They have the NH600 and NH800. p.s. Nice avatar, btw.

Well, definitely check out thesoundprofessionals.com for all your microphone needs. As for the 80 minute bit, this is called SP mode. It's 292kbps ATRAC3 audio, and is pretty damn transparent so I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between it and CD quality. The other two recording modes, LP2 and LP4, are essentially lower bit-rate encoding methods to maximise density. Here's some recommended links: http://minidisc.org/NetMD_faq.html and http://minidisc.org/mdlpfaq.html Unit recommendation? I did some thinking and I think that a couple of these: http://www.teamdigital.net/store/customer/...26&cat=5&page=1 ..would do the trick. If you're not keen on it just report back and I'll conjure something else.

Try uninstalling via the directions in the NetMD faq [registry edits and all], and install Sonicstage 2 [the connect.com version].
-
Yes, Hi-MD units will be able to play back your standard MD discs. This has been covered before and is also in our Hi-MD faq [at minidisc.org]. Try searching a bit for basic questions such as these before starting threads about them.
-
You are recording digitally, right? i.e. An optical cable going to the optical in on the unit from a source with an optical out.
-
What model are you specifically interested in?
-
Hehe, that thing is ancient! I don't even recognize it myself. What's the model number? ..and you know that you cannot record onto it since I'm assuming it's a player-only unit. All the more reason to get a MT880. <3

Uninstall your build of Sonicstage via the directions in the NetMD faq and install Sonicstage 2. There are no check in/check out limitations with SS2.
-
Hi there, and welcome. If you're having troubles downloading his version from our servers I recommend you just go to connect.com and download the official build. SimpleBurner 2 is not packaged with Sonicstage 2, it's a seperate install. If you buy a newer-generation unit, they're packaged together however. We did have a download link for Simple Burner 2, but it's unfortunately gone.
-
That's 100% correct, jade. Great point! Remember everyone, that all encoding in this scenario is done in the software itself and then transferred to the disc. If he were to do a 1:1 digital dub, I believe all encoding would be done on the deck, hence a higher-quality recording.
-
If you're concerned about compatibility, just install iceeedtea's build of Sonicstage 2. Links are available within the relevant thread in the NetMD forum.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part II]
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in Minidisc
Yes. Try uninstalling via the NetMD faq and installing iceeedtea's build of Sonicstage 2. -
Welcome, Bill. It's not necessarily the unit that you'll have to worry about, as most newer-generation MD units have amazing shock resistance. Keeping the microphone stable will be the true test. As for recommendations, will you need to upload the recorded audio to PC, or to a mixer? What's your maximum budget? Give us a little more background onto the process.

Christopher replied to Andrew_55's topic in Minidisc
Good stuff! We're almost there.. ..and what's with that silver/brown color scheme on the NH900? That's new to me.
