I think you should just uninstall everything as per the directions in the NetMD faq and install Sonicstage 2 only.

Should be mid-July to August for you, I would expect that you could order from any Euro e-tailer if you wish..as for locally, why don't you ask one of the major shoppes?
-
Perhaps you should try realtime digital recording. Maybe buy this [http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?p=24078] and use it accordingly for good digital dubs?

Please press refresh for the latest graphics changes. It's a very small change but I feel it gives the board a very mature look. This is the FINAL version of this template, and I may even go as far as releasing it to others. It's pretty damn functional. Anyway, Morpheus [the blue theme I mentioned earlier] is less than a week away.

Welcome. This unit can only play SP-encoded tracks, not LP2/4.

Please do not double post in the future. I have moved your previous inquiry here: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=5211

for you all masters with connections--July still go for US?
Christopher replied to doosmac's topic in Minidisc
Yes, mid to late July. -
Old and big? Perhaps, but with the latest firmware it easily outpreforms the unit in which you desire. I understand the issue about availability, so I'll leave that alone. Here's something I wrote in another forum that summarizes the higher-end to mid-end units [check the equipment browser for the NH700]: Oy. Look at the units here at our equipment browser: MZ-NH1: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH1.html MZ-NH900: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH900.html MZ-NHF800: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NHF800.html This is a tough comparison. The MZ-NH900 and the MZ-NH1 are definitely the best out of this group - I think because of the overall construction, digital amp and better battery life. Let's face it, the NHF800 is a nice unit [with it's AM/FM tuner, I guess], but it's pure plastic and lacks: - No digital pitch control. - No digital amp. - No line out function. - No charging cradle. - No external AA battery case [alkaline AA cells can be used internally]. - Smaller personal disk memory capacity. - No program/group program play mode [Not sure about this one yet]. I could see the NHF800 being somewhat satisfactory, but would probably leave you craving more.. The NH900 is aluminum and plastic [the plastic being around the LCD], and overall is a pretty sharp unit. I think this is the model I'm going to get, and in all honesty I think this is the best overall Hi-MD unit so far..in terms of everything. Don't be surprised if everyone has this unit, too. The differences in the NH1 and this unit aren't strong enough to truly justify another $100. Although I must admit the 3-line display that comes with the NH1 [RM-MC40ELK - closeup pictures here] is pretty keen and will be a sought-after accessory for NH900 and below. The price of $275ish [look it up online, don't judge the MSRP] seems pretty fair for this unit [for now], but it'll drop a bit in a little while. The differences between the NH900 and the NH1 are this: - No Date-time stamp. - No USB port on cradle. - NiMH rechargeable cell (vs. LiIon). - NH900 has an external AA battery case so that alkaline AA cells can be used as well as the NiMH gumpack cell. So, basically for $100 more you get those features, a 3-line remote and a magnesium casing. Meh. The NH1 is slick, though..but the $400ish price will scare many away. I mean, $400 on top of media costs? Seems a little ridiculous compared to what else you could get in that price range. MD is truly for a niche group of users, you have to remember that. btw, I like the color variations on the NH900 better than the NH1. heh

If no one replies to this inquiry, as far as I know playback can only be controlled via Sonicstage. Don't fret though, you should be able to emulate SS2 on a Linux box. I believe iceeedtea refers to this in his NetMD faq.

Problems with recording on Memorex discs, and a Lp2/Lp4 Q.
Christopher replied to DKgerbil's topic in Minidisc
Memorex have been notorious for making discs that seemingly "fail" more than others. As for the LP2/4 thing, are these CD-rips or *.mp3's that you had? There's alot of variables in a recording, you know.. -
What's your maximum budget?

Welcome. You can download songs from the computer to your MD, but you can only do it in a real-time scenario [or as you put it, one by one]. If you want high-speed downloads to your MD, you'll need NetMD or Hi-MD. If you want to upload things that you've recorded, check out our Live Recording forum and the search feature. It's been discussed quite a bit here..

Hi there, Take a look here first [specifically decks]: http://minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html ..and then ask questions, if necessary.

Hello, and welcome to the forums. I do not know the answer to your inquiry, but I do know that this should reside in our technical support forum. Moving..

I have no personal experience with the NE810, but I do know that the issue with your N910 may be solved by some troubleshooting. When you say that it is no longer capable of downloading tracks, are you sure it isn't just a software issue? To assure me of such, head over to our NetMD forum, uninstall everything via the directions in the NetMD faq and install Sonicstage 2.
-
Welcome! I don't think we have too many members from your area. For best functionality in a Hi-MD unit, I would suggest at least the NH800 and above. Whilst the iMP-550 is a nice unit, perhaps you should look at the Creative Nomad Jukebox 3? I think that you'd get alot better functionality out of that than the iMP-550, and it's a similiar formfactor. Do a couple of searches on the 'net and you'll find out plenty.

Welcome, Richard. p.s. An addendum - I'm 20 now.

Ah, another wonderful case of esoteric [yet somehow understandable] satire from iceeedtea. Whilst I will not contest his words, I will say this: When I have troubleshot NetMD issues related to Sonicstage 2 [which I've done quite a bit], it is very unusual how in most cases when a person has a build of Sonicstage 2 that they downloaded from connect.com and will not run properly I advise them the proper way to uninstall and install your build, everything magically works again. It's not just limited to that scenario, either - you'll find in alot of the threads I've diagnosised that it's along the same tune. I prescribe what works, and for some odd reason, it's iceeedtea's build. Anyway, in my mind, his build is relevant until 2.1 comes out and I will continue to post as such. p.s. ..and it doesn't come with the bloaty semi-sometimes working Connect! For that fact alone it's superior.

Fernando Olmos [one of our resident moderators] has this unit. Maybe you should try sending him a private message to see if he can send it to you? I tried googlesearching for a while but I couldn't find anything. Good luck, and welcome.

Do you have any codecs that are installed? Uninstall them.
-
Did you restart the computer after you installed the program?

Try burning those songs onto a CD [via Sonicstage 2] in a CD-format scenario and then ripping from that CD. That's what I'd do, at least..
-
I have sent him a Private Message as he is the only person who truly knows the full depth of his installer. Hopefully he'll reply to this inquiry soon. Welcome, btw [and check your PM's]..didn't think you'd come here.
