Welcome. Download Sonicstage 2 [iceeedtea's build] in the NetMD forums.
-
Initally, but perhaps prices will be cheaper if you get it from a better website than sonystyle. They always overcharge there, it seems. In fact, it's only $375CAD at minidisc-canada. http://minidisc-canada.com/shopexd.asp?id=339

Glad to hear. Enjoy. p.s. Nice deck, btw.
-
Have you been able to transfer any files at all? If not, I think you need to install the drivers [only] that came with that deck before you can have functionality.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part II]
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in Minidisc
Depends on where you live, of course. Expect it to be available worldwide in late July/early August. Welcome. Digital amps do make a difference. Read more about them here: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4223 You can only listen to the radio remote; you cannot record from it. There is no solution to your radio remote woes + the NH900, only the NHF800 will be able to operate it. -
So, what're you going to do Arthur? Maybe you should just stick to a NetMD recorder for now. I definitely advise you not to get a player-only unit before you get a recorder. Kinda defeats the point of it all, ya know?
-
You said that only four of the tracks wouldn't load. Do those tracks have exotic filenames? [i.e. odd characters]
-
What unit are you employing, blogger?
-
Not all remotes are like this. The new 3-line remote that comes with the NH1/etc has a backlight on/off button, so you can turn it on and off in addendum to the activity you describe. Newer-generation Sharp remotes also have the ability of three light modes: no backlight, backlight whilst operating and then turn off, and full backlight all the time. Also, keep an eye out around late July or early August, if not sooner. There have been some threads discussing this already, try searching a little bit.

Good to hear. This isn't the first time this has happened, though [i've troubleshot similiar situations and it ended up being the battery]; I don't understand why Sony's software will fail like this upon a battery problem and NOT indicate that it's such..

RE: 48GB High Density Minidisc [HDMD] Separates...
Christopher replied to betamaxDATminidisc's topic in Minidisc
Not impossible, but I believe we'd have to descend to an even lower laser wavelength than what Hi-MD is currently employing to use such densities. -
Good call, mmp64 - I think I'll be primarily employing Hi-SP on my discs, though. You'll get good times with LP2 and Hi-MD, nearly 5 hours with a formatted regular MD into Hi-MD mode disc, or 16 1/2 hours with a Hi-MD disc!
-
Damn, if we're talking that much then why don't just get a NH900 in a month or so? http://www.minidisc-canada.com/shopdisplay...rtable+MiniDisc You'd definitely like Hi-MD.
-
Easy there, man. Try and collect your thoughts for one post at a time. I think you should just get a recorder for now, and that's it. All NetMD units use USB 1.1, btw.
-
I would either wait till Hi-MD comes out and the eventual price drop, or go on eBay and looked for a N707 or some other comprable NetMD device.. So, what're you going to do? Get a player and a recorder, or just a recorder? You were going to pay $200 for that E620, no? Your budget is fluctuating..:rasp:
-
Can I go ahead and request a reserve copy for me? I'd love to hear the results. Remember, if you buy this unit DO NOT install the software that comes with the unit and install iceeedtea's build of Sonicstage 2, as that will give you the best functionality in this scenario. It's located in the NetMD forum.. p.s. Just in case there is any confusion, this is all you'd need to do: Record in PCM/Hi-SP, connect device to computer, upload via Sonicstage 2, and then burn those tracks to CD via Sonicstage 2. Simple, eh?
-
What's your maximum budget, and where will you be recording most of your music from [computer, cd's, etc]?
-
Why don't you just upload the recordings and put them on CD?
-
Glad your content with your unit, mutant. Welcome to the forums!
-
Good question. I assume your referring to the Kenwood player? The remote has a clip-on type clip that attaches itself to the remote cord and is definitely as strong as any other remote clip. So, the remote is actually flat and the clip goes on the cord. Remotes from other brands just put the clip on the remote, making it somewhat bulky.
-
Of course! You can use a recorder to play back tracks as well. Most people just buy recorders with good battery life instead of buying a player and a recorder. I like employing both, as using one unit exclusively will wear down the unit's lifespan, in a sense.. I think in your scenario Arthur, you'd probably be best with a recorder. Maybe one with a good digital amp?
-
No, all of the units we've discussed are player-only units. If you look in that digital amps thread you'll see mention of recording units in the summary and the unit listing towards the bottom [i.e. recorder].
-
Thanks - I really admired that unit and I hope that others recognize the great strides Kenwood has made with their units lately. Kenwood or Sony? Flip a coin. :rasp: Which unit "looks" better to you?
-
Nope. Those recording modes [LP2, LP4] are only available through Sonicstage. Basically, the only modes you can record in with a Hi-MD unit [in a live scenario such as this] is PCM, Hi-SP and Hi-LP, and the MD disc would have to be formatted to Hi-MD mode to allow it. Welcome, btw.
-
Not finicky at all. Very easy to master [it'll take a few uses, but it's really intuitive] and I definitely think it's one of the best remotes ever made for a MD portable. I'm sure you'd be content with the E620, though..
