  1. Four things really, 1. Battery life 2. Compact size 3. Battery life and 4. Battery life
  2. Not all of us are iPod zealots. I actually owned a 3g iPod and sold it to come back to MD.
  3. I can relate, I've got a MZ-E710 and it doesn't have an LCD on it either. I use it with the remote about 50% of the time just so I can read track titles and change the sound properties. You're probably right, but I've been using the lowly MC33EL so I've yet to experience the bliss that is the MC40ELK.
  4. FWIW, my MZ-E710 is built very well. It compares favorablely to my DR480 in build quality. My MZ-N510 is good too, for a plastic unit.
  5. Why not just leave the remote at home?
  6. AL is the abbreviation for Alabama. Alaska's abbreviation is AK.
  7. I'd seriously consider the Sony MDR-G74SL headphones or the Sennheiser 437 phones as good choices for your money. I've personally used the Sony's and I've got to tell you that these were surprisingly enjoyable to my ears.
  8. The sound quality is terrific Kurisu. I need to record more often.
  9. Aeriyn, MD is about 14 years old. Magneto-optical technology is a lot older than that.
  10. I'm not sure of the specific cost, but I'd suggest that you look into getting a MZ-NH700 Hi-MD recorder for your needs. It's got a Mic input as well as the capabilty to record in all the various NetMD and Hi-MD modes. I simply asked what country you're in because the MZ-NH700 isn't marketed to all nations. I don't know why Sony chose to do business that way.
  11. I normally use long corded headphones/earphones, so I coil up the remote cord and store it in my Caselogic case along with my minidisc player. I clip the remote to the outside of the case. I then store the entire setup in my pocket of briefcase.
  12. I think that you're out of luck on that hope. I've never heard of such a thing.
  13. I've resent my last email. Hopefully it'll go through this time.
  14. FWIW, I also sent an email to you, to the above address, on the day you posted the thread, but I did not receive a response either. You didn't deserve a flame job, but the address you just posted is the same one in the first post. I feel people are too impatient for responses sometimes.
  15. ZeroDB, it's good to have you here too. I've always been cool with you. No worries my friend.
  16. What counrty do you live in?
  17. OEMs don't generally plaster their name all over a product. You've have to do a lot of research to figure out the origins of some items.
  18. The iPod also has the advantage of being able to take advantage of Firewire or USB 2.0 transfer speeds, not like Hi-MD limitaton of USB 1.1.
  19. I haven't used OE in years. I use Outlook for it's integrated calendar, contact, and email functionality. Plus it's the company standard. I use it at home too in order to keep the PDA sync'd on my home PC too. If Thunderbird can integrate will with Sunbird I'll be jazzed, especially if I can sync my PDA up to it.
  20. I use Office 2000, Office XP, Office 2003, and Open Office on various work and personal systems. I'm still getting the hang of Open Office, but I can see myself using Office less and less. Outlook still has me by the throat though.
  21. The iTrip doesn't do recording at all btw. I think you meant the iTalk. It records at 8khz. http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/...k/techspecs.php
  22. The aforementioned Slappa cases would be very good at not scratching the CDs. The OP is looking for a cheap solution though. Jewel cases are not much cheaper than a binder, are harder to store, and take up more shelf space. A binder of some sort is the way to go. I'll probably buy Slappa cases for myself.
  23. This site has always been easier on the eyes, and lately the temper too.
