  1. No problem, good luck with your search. Please let me know what you find. I'm interested in a cheap solution too.
  2. I've said it before, I'll say it again. You know, with the phones sitting there like they are, they almost look like the guy from Spy vs. Spy.
  3. Jadeclaw, anything beats the bright eye burning colors of the TBoard. With that said, we'll try to keep an eye out for all issues on the forums and notify of our findings Chris.
  4. Camille - Don't get me started. I've had enough of two specific users there. Atrain - There's a lot of good people on the that forum, it just a couple of users who are making it bad for everyone. That's just my opinion though. I sincerely hope that admin reigns it in and makes it strong again. There is no reason why there can't be two good forums that cover our favorite recording medium. As it is, I see this as the serious users forum and the other one as a fun place to visit and participate in various discussions about MD and other topics.
  5. You can try to build something similar to this.
  6. You're correct. I didn't understand your request. Unfortunately I don't have much info to help you. I'd suggest sending an email to Sharp for a part number and ordering information. Hopefully they can help you. It's either that, or troll eBay in hopes that you'll be lucky.
  7. You can try using a universal adaptor from Radio Shack.
  8. Do you mean Windows XP? I was not aware that any consumer variant of Windows was labelled "2003," although a server specific version is available. Sonicstage 2.3 ought to work for you though, what country are you in?
  9. Shop online for better deals. Try here: http://store.yahoo.com/elitelabs/poslh200cd.html for sleeves and then go to an office supply store for a cheap 3 ring binder.
  10. Give it time, I'm sure that if Sony sticks with this design, some one will get around to designing a Hi-MD compatible storage rack. MDGB2 has a point though. You could always build one for yourself fairly inexpensively.
  11. I've had really good luck with my MDR-E868LP earbuds. I've used them for over eight years. The MDR-E888sp and LP earbuds have the same physical design, so with care, they ought to last you just as long. I can't comment on the sound difference betweemn the AT and Sony models though as I haven't actually heard them.
  12. Thanks for the good word JQuest. I appreciate it.
  13. This is great. I hope tha teveryone is enjoying the place. Thanks Kurisu for working so hard on the forums.
  14. I want to be clear, I am not seeking to spy on people, I do plan on placing my recording kit in a public place, so I expext to catch random conversation and such, but my goal in not nefarious in any way. I also want to start recording interviews with people too, but that doesn't have to be stealthy. I'll be using a Sony mic for that. I've got one coming in the mail. It can be seen here. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...list&sku=225510
  15. Radio Shack sell cable ends that fit over the TOSlink connector in order to conver it to a .35mm jack.
  16. Damage is right about the EX71s. I've owned two pairs of this earphone in the past and burned them in for over 30 hours on one, and 50 hours on the other one. Both sets still sounded horrible. The main complaint that I had with them was the fat, bloaty, overpowering bass. Damage was kind enough to send me his older pair of EX71s and this pair rocks. The bass is tamed down, the mids and highs are well blanced, and I can finally enjoy these phones. To be fair, I must note that these phones have been tape modded and the drivers have been opened up a little. Damage can explain this better then I can.
  17. I'm thinking of heading out the local coffeeshop or someplace and sitting down to read a book for a bit while using a cheap pair of earphones to record ambient sounds, random conversations, etc. Has anyone here tried this? Is the best way to do this secretly, or are there better mics available for the purpose?
  18. I also wish you all a Happy New Year. I especially wish good will upon the victims of the Tsunami in SE Asia.
  19. Happy New Year to you as well.
  20. Yes you can easily record to minidisc and transfer the audio to your PC in order to make a CD to "annoy" your friends. I'd suggest using a Hi-MD model so you can use Sony's Wav converter or Marcnet's Hi-MD Renderer app. Hi-MD ought to perfect for your situation.
  21. The N10 can not read the new 1GB discs. You're stuck using 80 minutes minidiscs with that unit.
  22. I was in Target tonight, they sell 2500mah AAs now.
  23. Yes the NH600 will give you a longer recording time. I'd suggest getting it. You can record 34 hours on one Hi-MD disc at Hi-LP.
  24. IM me if you'd like. My info is in my profile.
