Well, I'm fine with MD/Hi-MD for audio only anyway. Higher capacity media would be nice though, and is supposedly possible. I guess we'll see what Sony has in store for us.

I'd also like to see Sony push MD into other areas if it would benefit the format. I doubt that it would. Minidisc as an audio format is here to stay, but the only other viable option I see would be using the media for data storage. Hi-MD = zip disk. Higher capacity media and support for more CODECS is where Sony ought to throw their concentration on.

The NH1 has a few benefits over the NH900. By the way, the UK NH1 is not volume limited. The remote (Camille mentioned this) Date-time stamp Body construction: Magnesium Battery life of the NH1 equals that of the NH900 with AA attachment. I like both units, but I'd lean toward the NH900 anyway since it uses readliy available batteries.

I can tell you right now, the answer is no. The NH900 with the AA attachment doesn't fit in that case.

Any remote with a model number from the RM-MC33EL or higher will control everything on the 520 except the radio. That unit has a radio right?

I use the remote a lot more than I used to, but it's still not used often. The remote is a major pain when using my winter jacket though, no place to clip it on securely.

There's no promise tha tanything we're discussing will actually happen. With that being said, it's rumored tha tthere will be a firmware upgrade for existing Hi-MD units. We'll see what really comes to pass in the months ahead.

There are no cases made specifically for it, but Minidisco also sells some leather cases that would fit a NH900.
