    One would assume the OLED backlight in the RH10 would work well as it is illuminated. However, black lights in the club may pose a problem as I have never tried to read any type of LED under black light.

    Sucks about the screen being hard to read.. maybe you can get some anti-reflection window cleaner to make it easier to read?

    Futureshop only has Pana, RCA, JVC and Sony CD players, as well as some lower quality players... but I won't mention those.

    Mp3/ATRAC wouldn't be a terrible addition to a CD player, but it isn't needed as I cannot burn ATRAC, and most of my music is mpeg4/aac.

    -The Mars Volta: 'Frances the Mute' -> absolute brilliance, best buy for this year...and their live show was even better!!

    -Godspeed You Black Emperor!: 'Levez Vos Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven' -> was on my wishlist for a couple of years, but couldn't find a store that sold 'em... again brilliant (in a the-fast-show-annoying-teenager kind of way) springs to mind!

    I just recently got these 2 discs myself. Very good, the both of them.

    My most recent CD is "Beck - Guero" and "Death From Above 1979 - You're a woman, I'm a machine" then saw AFA 1979 play live... WOW.

    I'd rather purchase from a brick and mortar, but I'll probably go with the internet, since the selection in Canada is dismal.

    I don't want to spend much more than 100 USD, maybe more if I can sell my iPod. Which I may or may not due, since it is a pretty cool toy, that I can use to store files from school and what not.

    Atrain, sadly, future shop is the biggest electronic retailer in Canada (to my knowledge) and their "selection" hinders sales of brands like iRiver. Canada is probably the opposite of Japan in regards to electronics, our retailers carry the extreme bottom of the line, then top, nothing really in between. Everyone just loves cheap and mediocre here.

    Edit: Degrassi Jr. High ran me about 40 CAD or so. Funny enough, the DVD is issued by an american public access channel, even though the series (and it's spinoff/sequel high) happens to be the best Canadian series I've ever seen or care to see.

    Ok, so the iPod is a pretty cool gadget. It plays music, and can play a lot of it without switching discs at all.

    However, I'm sick of this stupid device. I can't set it down without wondering if I am going to let the battery die, or if I am actually going to have enough battery time to play out my day. I've actually stopped carting it around as I think that it's not totally worth it to take it on the bus.

    So I am thinking about just going back to plain 'ole compact disc. I mean, I have a CD burner, over 100 CDs and a minidisc player/recorder. I don't see why I'd need a MP3 jukebox for any reason at all.

    Does anyone have any recommendations for a smallish to small CD player?

    I want some good battery life, it has to run on either gumsticks with an AC adapter AND AA adapter or AC adapter and AAs. Good battery life is essential, 10 realistic hours rather than 8 projected hours that I am supposed to be getting with my iPod.

    Sound and portability come next, I hear the DNE-300 fares good, however it looks a bit bulky and about that size would be my maximum.

    For sound, a dedicated line-out is a major plus, and a MD link optical out is even better. Things like mp3/ATRAC are completely un-needed, but won't be shunned.

    Anyways, any suggestions would be great.

    I check this site out a few weeks ago, but I have yet to mention it online as I fear if it gets too exposed it will get shutdown. Plus I'm never sure when I can talk about emulation without getting banned.

    This site reminds me of my plan to make an Emulation PC, that outs to my TV.

    I think it is pretty cool how you can tweak XP to look like MacOSX, although I've never been able to justify running a skinning program. As I think that Windows has enough troubles simply running, Without running a bunch of programs to make it look nice to co-exist with it. Although, to be fair, the last PC I spent some extensive time on was a win 98 machine. The XP machines at school are pretty good, considering that they are maintatined extremely well.

    G'day and welcome to the forums.

    You CAN play songs recorded from your sister's player on your Pana, however, you will find it may take some more work.

    When using NetMD, always record in SP, I can't tell you how to do this, because I don't have Sonicstage.

    Alternatively, you can record realtime from your CD player to your sis' n510 using the line-in (you can learn more in depth how to do this in the FAQs) and just set the recording mode to "SP".

    This will give you the ability to play discs in your mj75, your sister's discs were encoded at a lower and incompatible bitrate.

    Old/international pop gets to me.

    Wham!, Ayumi Hamazaki, O-Zone (Dragostea Din Tei is amazing), Depeche Mode, Duran Duran.

    Then I get just plain lame and pump up some Gwen Stefani, and dance my pants off. I guess it just proves how retardedly catchy Gwen really is.
