  1. i think it might be yer cable try replacing that then if it still persists try rebooting or trying a different disc there might be coruption or sumthin....after that i dont know what to tell ya
  2. well first off welcome to the forums... this seems to be something to do with the compression so you can try messin around with eq on the hi md unit after its transfered to bring sown the bass or try using some sort of mp3 editing system to bring the origanal mp3 bass down even more so it wont be as harsh when you make it an omg file.....but this is my opinion so well see what everyone else has to say
  3. WOW 7-12 days is a bit anooying to me....but im really impatient when it comes to ordering stuff ...has anyone seen if there is a rush delivery or anything along those lines when ordering from adiocubes before....
  4. I use HI LP and 48 kbps(pending on what kind of music) and you can bag on 48k all u want but i think its a good way to save space on certain songs it really depends....mostly hi lp though.
  5. oh woops i wasnt thinking about the nh1 so i guess i wouldnt be able to say much there i dont have an nh1 sorryy..... now i want to ask something once again because i like asking questions  it is imposible to transfer PCM format to the hi md untis via usb...i know this...but seeing as how PCM is a format that is similar to cd quality wouldnt it be possible to transfer in PCM via usb in a version of MD Simple Burner since its a transfer straight to md from pc? it would just need to be converted to pcm right? although i might be missing a key part to y sony hasnt chosen to do this
  6. i noticed some mp3 player can make 48 kbps recordings as well and since i use 48 k for my minidisc because i dont really see a differance in most songs quality that use (MOST BUT SOME) and i was wondering if aanyone has heard of the mp3 version of 48 k quality is i would think it too be worse but i would like to hear some input....thanx
  7. okay...when you import a file to sonic stage it makes it an atrac file but not exactly a copy its more like a shortcut to the mp3 than a copy i think and when you delete the source imorted file you delete what you wanna copy to yer MD so dont worry too much about having two files although thats how it apears the only time it becomes and omg file is when you save it using SS backup tool...as for other preograms i think real player works for recording net md type discs but im not sure about hi md ....hope that helped and anyone who sees a mistake ive made please correct me....
  8. okay kurisu ill use that link then well i didnt even bother to use that cable i baught a smaller cable that is maybe 2 inches long which i found much more convieniant for transfer of files and music on the go the cab;e also stretches out to the length of a regular cable so it works both ways
  9. okay kurisu..... but may i ask of any particular reasons?
  10. i can answer most of these for you but excuse me if i dont fully understand question 1. 1. it is a 1 gb minidisc that can store 1gb of music in atrac format and the amount pends on wha bitrate you use (48kbps 64kbps 256kbps or any of the older atrac3 formats) you can store 1 gb of data aswell (980 MB or something) by drag and droping it onto the drive as if it were like an external drive (usb key or whatnot) 2. yes after formating the old mds you can store 300 MB of data on them (295 MB to be exact) and the same thing goes for puting data on those. 3. the above answeres should give this one away...
  11. I Have A question about the hi md remotes ....what is the best price for a hi md remote that would fully work with the 600D that wont kill my wallet....im looking for something around 40-55 dollars at most....please inform me... thanx
  12. well if you make your own compilations and dont need it for live recording then high speed usb transfer is better than optical in ...unless you dont have a computer....then i suggest the 700 but otherwise the 600 isnt as bad a model as what it sounds....it works just fine if you arent really really really picky about every little thing on yer player
  13. i have a question......I had lost all the music on my hi md disc randomley one night and i have no clue why but heres the events that happened with it before.....i had just put on my 336th track onto the disc and i shut down my computer for the night (during the recording my hi- md player got bumped around, just a little nudge while recording) i tested the recording and it played fine as most of the others i checked.....anywayes....the next afternoon i turn on my hi md and it starts reading the disc only to apear with the message "Cannot Read Or Burn To Disc"!!! i was angry confused and sad at the same time can anyone explain why thiis happened and nnot to menchon the difficulty with SS2.0 trying to reput all the music onto my computer what i backed up with the backup tool not playing back or recording onto any disc untill i upgraded to 2.1 which made everything better....
  14. I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thaks to ss2.1 which i just downloaded i can now burn my music and not have any cluder on my hdd.......and i love the new features of ss2.1 aswell a major improvment thanks for you help anyways everyone!!!!
  15. I had baught my 600d back in june and i have been more than happy with it and yet now i am at a slight anger with sonic stage ....omehow i lost the 336 tracks i just put on my hi md blank and all of them are gone ...a while back i backed up all my music with the sonic stage backup tool and thank god i did because my computer crashed and i had to reinstall windows and sonic stage was gone....i used the back up disc to put my music back onto sonic stage and i tried reburning my music and it is telling me it cant because it does not have the sufficiant rights or something like that and i am worried that i will have to dig out the cds and put them bak on my hd and redo all that junk that i didnt want to my last and final hope is to ask the people...and those of you who are reading this are "the people" so please help me try and fix this problem if i can i want my portable music back...............................................................................................................j
  16. thats awsome hopefully they are backlit cause i really am getting annoyed with the the little screen and no lighting
  17. so does tat mean sony will make a remote especialy for the 600d or are they just gonna leave us with the port and old remotes that dont cover every function that we use the hi md players for?? that would be cruel!!!! :whatever:
  18. wait i thought that you coldnt get a remote for the 600d model ? if so where would u plug it in and does this mean that sony might come out with a remote that functions with the 600d for people to buy
  19. no im talking about one as short as i need it
  20. thats too bad but i guess that could work but if anyone does find something like that please tell me
  21. i do a lot of file transfer with my HI-MD player because i have the patience to wait the minute or two to transfer my files.....anyways i do alot of transfer from one computer to the next and i hate the size of the cord that i need to do the transfer so i was wondering if it was possible to find a a cable without the cord in between just one port to the other .................................................please tell me where to find one if possible  thanks
  22. yeah or maybe if you find someone with a 600d from (what is it the europ version or something) because if what ive heard is correct they have these functions for live recording and must have pcm recording but other than them no one here knows
  23. i looked at the web page for the two mp3 players and at first i thought the muvo slim was a pretty good choice but the amount of space is disgustingly low...then i took a second look at the zen touch and i thought it would be okay but ....i hate mp3 players myself so i cant give a good oppinion on it. but its got 20 gigs and the same battery life as a hi md player yet it looks pretty heavy delicate and you are stuck with that amount of space ...however there is an arguement about the amount of discs needed to to equal that amount of space and the price of those discs well its not like you are going to try and put all your music collection on to a movable media as soon as you get whatever you choose....collect the discs over the course of time and you will soon find that youve collected enough discs to hold the same if not more music than a hdd after a few months or a year of having the player and collecting discs.....thats my opinion on how it might happen
