  1. wtf are you talking about hi sp doesnt suk its probly yer mp3s man i cant even deal with someone that picky i have to agree with latexxx...
  2. yeah but nuclear is very poluting lots of waste is created that cant be gotten rid of in any way for thousands of years
  3. i used a very good medium for the backup becasue i dont have a bery big libary i used a 1 gigabyte disc that had to back it up and it worked very nicely but if you have a few gis of mp3s etc then yeah a hard disc is good or... Even thousands upon thousadns of floppy discs yeah right but is there any other way seriously than a hdd external or gig disc the hdd seems too much for me i needsomething just to get the riht amount of sppace
  4. i too got this when i restored ss but i had to connect to the net to verify the watnots...grrr....luckely i was able to connect and do it but even then some songs (those i downloaded from connect) werent working for playback or writing, only able to restore music on most recent version of ss or it just goes all retarted on you
  5. this is strange to me because i have the 600 and no matter what recording i never get a gap not een the slightst so why is this the case with the higher models (and of corse i use the ss encoder)
  6. as far as i know the transfer back button was designed for the check in/out system when you were allowed only 3-4 transfes to discs and checking in was for giving back that transfer so you can do it again to another disc, they obviously have reason to keep this feature evn though the limited number of times you can check out is no longer there maybe for the uploading feature with the hi-md units
  7. hey its about time this thread got moving again ive been watching it for some time now ( a week or two) i look to this for info on misc things so dont stop asking questions please
  8. well i do believe a wide arranment of units will apear over time...just like net md, there will be dozens upon dozens of diffent types from all creaters with beter designs some will be budget models to upgrades from the nh1 its all supply and demand people demand new style new fashion and whatnot and they will (eventually :l ) supply
  9. hmm maybe thats why i have nothing to complain about in 64 kbps with ...i hear about people basing the format yet i couldnt figure out why i couldnt tell the difference but i cam to the conclusion that it the type of music, i listen to some classical and find it to be horrible on hi lp. glade i dont listen to it much
  10. okay...correct me if im wrong here but i wanna adreess everyones frustration with the drm thing, im not gonna b**ch about it i just wanna say... sony is going to do what they want ith the format and i dont think rambaling on and compaining will stop them...they are raking in so much money from other selling products out there that they are famouse for that minidisc is just a double money in from the ppeople who DO buy it...abviously they are making money and arent too worried about whats going on with it and how angry its making people...this is not a vital part of there industry its is just a sub portion ( a bonus money maker) untill it does take a huge turn to being cruxhal sales happening its nothing to them except another little thing on there menue for the little people now i know this little opinion of mine wont stop people complaining on and on about the formats drm ut i just have to say, let it go people... just stop.... you have beter things to type than complaints espesialy when they most likely arent going to be met with unless in small little comforts like the "wave converter" may come out but with sony it could be months to years before they decide to address the release of this program to me this is still a rumor ...they released an official announcment, so what that doesnt mean anything, sony released an offician announcement about the hi-md format in february and we didnt see Sheiza untill july and that was in a rush too....this is a program they hardley care about think about it, again if im misiing new info or whatnot tell me cause this is my conclusion thats my ramble...whats yours? PS <---(what part of the alphabet would look like it q and r were eliminated) excuse my spelling i rush and dont look when i write these, still full thought though
  11. whoah that makes me even more confused with the ss software for cryin outloud SONY i couldnt do any thing with 2.0 till i upgraded and now folks are having to DONGRADE to get stuff to work ...is sony making there software worse or sumthin?
  12. wow i was thinking the exact same thing after i posted dex thats an extremely good point but this might be a little bit of a different situatuation im not sure but you might be right with certain kinds of lights effecting the unit in some way, the backlite on the s1 did bulge out a little bit and was on a slant perhaps to deel with design coping? but maybe sony figures people use remotes more anyways so they didnt need them on the unit EH?
  13. hmm...hey cori i had to do real time recording via analog in port no mic before i used the net md usb port (didnt have a puter at the time) and once i was able o record on the md via usb and i thought it sounded lots better than analog??? i didnt use the new ss at the time it was the omgjuke box...same thing diff program i guess...but it still sounded better must of been the recorder or sumthin
  14. i have to agree with dex on that but i am worried aswell about battery dranage, i want maximum battery so i keep mine on auto or off when i know i will be in a lit area for a while, i also dont know why all displays dont have a backlit screen i had the mz-s1 with that uniq backlit screen on the unit and i thought that was most usefull thing ever but then i go to hi md and find i need a remote with a baklit screen cause the unit doesnt have one?? whats up with that it didnt add that much thikness to the s1 (given the s1 wasnt the thinnest of models) maybe its because of price but i think it would be worth the extra few buks but it is more usefull on the remote aswell...
  15. correction the himd models do alow digital upload to pc but they dont allow you to do anything with the file except burn it to more mds or an atrac cd and thats not exactly what most intend on doing (and no regular mds do not allow playback on pc speakers...) however this is not going to be the case forever sont has announced the wave converter to be comming out rather soon, i dont personely know when. so after that you can do what you please with the file but you will have to be patient for that to happen if you do choose to get a hi md player/recorder then i would suggest the mz800 or 900 depending on matereal that you want it made of, the 900 has a plastic backing and i believe the 800 is a plastic model its your choice but both have the specs you need i think.
  16. i have a computer running xp and i had no problems installing the newer ss programes but 1.5 was a b**ch and 2.1 was the best, although you cant restore data from your ss backup tool unless you have 2.1 it does not work on 2.0 very well, but thats a different subject so.....
  17. well also its not like there will be no more remotes made spacificly compatible with hi-mmd i mean theres only one remote out there and its designed for the nh1 and then there are the universal ones that justt work with the other units basic function....there will likely be a HI-MD remote for editing and basic functions (clrrect me if im inaccurate)
  18. i dont have an nh1 but i hear the digital amp makes a differance with loudness and bass some say it sounds good and some say its a bit annoying but if you have a problem with the loudness try smaller headphones because its possible that the output cant power yer phones but if yer usiing small ones as it is then i would think the nh1 would be alot better...
  19. Hey man im way ahead of ya i started using hi-lp as soon as i got my hi-md player i love the space and the quality is great for the kind of music i listen to and for some songs i use hi-sp because there is a noticible downsize in quality so yes i do care about quality but i believe that it depends in what kind of music it is eh?.. and skierMD about the equilizer...i dont think my music would sound as good as i have it on my hi md player without it i love that eq.
  20. hey i can relate to ya in most ways in this except for i dont have an nh1 but ive learned lots about it...from what i hear its digital amp seems to magnify drum and bass i just never hear about people liking the digital amplification people are always saying it sounds bad like yer in a big metal drum when yer listening and what nots about it but if you enjoy lp4 on it thats fine i like the bit rate myself aswell... funny ....my first md player was the s which turned me to md forever
  21. last i heard it was supposed to let you burn mp3 cds atrac cds and audio cds but i had to reinstall it last week and my new SS 2.1 didnt come with those features so im kind of questioning that myself (is it because i didnt use that announcment link maybe)
  22. i was in canada a few weeks ago and saw a few in a store in new brunswik fredrikton mall probly no where neer where you live up there but they were about 9 buks a pop and down here they are showing up in stores for around 6-7 $US and i live on a border state to canada so they should be showing up shortly in other parts of canada i would think.......
  23. hmm....Even Still though youd think that pcm would be possible on simple burner since its almost a direct rip from cd to md pcm would be near perfect for that (no Huge files to delete from your hdd after and its faster than copying the cd buring it then deleting) Right?
  24. Well i obviously missed that in the manual i havnt really gone through SS much so i didnt know that thanx fer telling me but wouldnt that eat up space on yer HDD?
  25. or right click on the tracks and go to convert format then choose wht you want and it should convert at least thats what has always worked for me
