this is half off topic but i was just wondering what mah rechargable battery would equil to a standard dry battery?

this is the sonystyle.com specs on the player and im sure that you all have heard this one..... once again everyones favorite twist of words SUPPORT is still there unless this is to be changed mp3 is not in this unit yet

yeah i listen to music null effected by the encoding of hi-lp and even sometimes 48 k....!!!!!!! i know my ears where suprised too! i usualy have no need for hi-sp except for more serious music that i really listen closley too, lacobo, comedy cds are something i collect myself, i luv recorded stand upp........

i believe the ipods have a card reader that works fuitily with the ipods in transfering so yes they do have this ability

the 600 is not a unit that comes with a rechargable and is not ment to recharge any kind f battery all rechargables must be recharged in the unit or in a seperate charger and the batery can in no way be in the unit without unnesisary complicated reconstructments of the machine

howdey, this is to all people with a ps2 and an entertainment system... if you dont know already sony has released the announcment that ps2 systems are going to be produced three times thinner thn the ones available now....(three in an old ps2 and six in an x box) everything is going to be the same on the unit and it will even have ethernet built into it and sell for about the same as the urrent ps2s..... anyways there is one thing changing on this unit and that is the disc tray, some say this is crucial to the unit fiting in an entertainment system, because now the disc will go in just like a psone with the flip lid on top! im pretty nutrual about it and if i ever need to replace my ps2....would try to get one, but what is your take on whether this will criple entertainment systems without enough space to allow that lid to open is this a mistake by sony or is this a good idea :love: ??

the n10 has one ability over the 600....liove recording capabitlities but other than that nothing much so unless yer making live recording then go with quarkz

yes i heard that the battery life of psp will be somewheres in the 5-6 houre range now but i could be wrong, but i know i read something on it. as for the umd being a rom format only......sadly it all seems to true...... would be nifty though

Well........this is still kind of veuge but i would say if you are just looking for a player only unit and have no needs for recording elswise......a good mp3 player with a tuner would suite you just fine.....however if you would llike to record things....ets..... himd is the proper choice. and if you think hi-md is right then the 800 model has a tuner remote, and all the recording features its all on spacific needs though.....

there was talk about wifi in the psp, people could go online at wireless networks in there houseor at an airort for that matter jetblue supports wireless at airports! man a umd writer would be pretty nifty....hopefully sony will make some umd players for portablilty in the next generation of md.... those little discs have almost got 2 gigs of space on em....n they are eve smaller than what we got.... sony should leave old md behind and start a new with this format instead....

when you say sony uk has recomended the forum does that mean marcs program has publicity going on with his program? and the forums are where sony is telling people to go inquiring about a converter? not that ths is bad i just think its funny.... maybe sony isnt making there converter because they know that marc has made one and they feel they have no more rush.....

HI-MD playing back mp3 there was a thread on this but i laugh at the thought of it......... as for the psp....im grabbin one as soon as it hits stores the games are supposed to be phanomenal and the video thing increases my excitement even more, i dont care too much about converting the video to a new format.....the music thing on it probly wont be much anyways i mean its going to be running off falsh memory anyway what amount of music can you put on that, and still have room for yer game saves? ......Sony hasnt messed up much on the gamming part of town but the portables have been going down hill.... now we shal see what happens when sony combines portable with gamming!!!! i hope to see something fruitatious come out of the situation

wait i a minute i know simple burner 2 does not alow burning in anything but lp2 lp4 but cant you burn sp to netmd via sonic stage....i mean ive been doing that for a freind on my computer and mp3s can burn in sp aswell as cds through sonic stage, you can burn in any bitrate/mode of netmd in sonic stage, i know this for a fact.....unless im special ))))

i agree with chris in that bush was very unorginized with the war on irag, and afghanistan i was ready to fight whoever was resonsible for september eleveth right after the bombing i wanted to go and fight myself but wasnt quite 18 yet......... im not really up for either of the candidates really but its a factor of the lesser of two evils, in a way, i dont care for bush and dont believe he will be re-elected and kerry has his share of downfalls too but no wheres neer what bush has put on himself i watch the news every morning and for the past year and a half the very first thing i hear is...."another bombing in irag" or "another soldier died today in iraq" and im getting sick of this, if we did things right our troops wouldnt be in such danger and we would be done there and let irag and afghanistan stand on there own two feet without us fighting them.... and sloweley back away from the mid east wars but bush is making america seem like the bad guys of the whole thing so im voting kerry aswell.......

hello....the cd is not by anychance scratched at all or you are running yer md off its battery instead of ac adapter.... im just saying this because some people....im not saying you but......some people make moves reletive to this and cant figure out whats going on.....

well....i know a wee bit more than the basics but i dont go far in audio works as much as i do computers but in my area i would say a good percentage of people have netmd players in my comuntiy but have little to any idea about them, just that they play there tunes..... i would like to say i have the most knowledge in my general area but i cant say that for sure.....

HI.....i'd like to introduce myself officialy aswell, seeing as how ive been posting here and watching these forums for a few months now im 19 going on 20, a graduate of highschool and incredibly interested in music and even more so in computers im a nerd when it comes to computers, but im still learning (i hate typing though, incase you notice my spelling mistakes made frequently) my favorite music is rap and hip hop--dont worry im no wannabee of anyone im just a white dude that listens to the music lol but i really will listen to every kind of music out there and enjoy it except for country music.... ive been interstead in minidisc since probly 1995-96....i was pretty young but.....i still was intersted im hopping to go through college and get some sort of computer buisness going with my freind and partner....time will tell how it works out..

well i think the skamming oart of it is that the prices are raised to a higher amount than what they really are ....

yeah but dont forget that would take a while to get on the disc 45 mins + pending on file size

i dont understand the charicter limit that your talking about ivegot almost 500 tracks on one of my minidiscs and they all have names over 5-6 charicters long aside for maybe 1 every 10-20 traks and plus al the 20+ grupes that ive named and i havent hit a charicter limit and playlists and groupes work the same way there isnt MUCH of a difference....(im not saying there arent any) and the part of the check out check in stuff that was taken out from the older sonicstages was the number of times that you had to check out....now unlimited....checking in is just sonicstages way of saying :erasing the track from minidisc:: and last but not least the problem with availibilty of discs is just something that sony cant keep up with because they have there heads up there asses and have no idea what the concept of supply and demand is maybe they will let other companies allowed to start making the discs instead of being the stuck up bums they are trying to get the money they can by being solo on the product for a while *****if you are talking about a charicter limitation on individual tracks then your tracks must be over 100 charicters long because i did a test and was able to burn 5 songs with a hundred charicter long title each and still could have made it longer and hit no limit***** tell me if im not understanding this im just trying to see what yer probs are exaclty and im sorry to hear that you areunsatisfied with you purchase.....

2.2 does allow you to burn to hi-md atrac cds mp3cds and audio cds but it is a matter of rights info on the songs if you want to burn anything to mp3 or audio cds 2.1 had this feature when it started off but then they took it out of the download....idk why the hell they did it but its back now in 2.2 so download it now before sony decides they dont want costumers to have what they want again

well atrac isnt that bad...the only problem with it is drm and unless yer planning to upload personel recording then theres really no problem....however if you are then hi-md is where you should have gone, and you can record line in on the s1 for personnel listening so its not exactly crap, i had one a year ago and i loved that unit, but if your that disgusted with atrac...even in sp mode then i suggest you just listen to plain uncompressed cds in cd players anyways.....
