i've never seen it, but panasonic calls it's own joint-text system "mdnetwork" looking here http://www.minidisc.org/part_Bookshelf_Panasonic.html it lists other both older & newer systems with it but not this one. if that means there's not enough info or if it's a feature missing i couldn't say. still that's a nice price even if you have to title by sonicstage later.

my router just crashed, i spent an hour on the phone with tech support, me telling the guy that it's borked & wont save any data when flashed, him getting me to run the same diagnostics over & over until i finally got an rma warranty return. should have listened an hour ago netgear tech support. so no wireless, no internet in bed, in the hammock etc. stuck to my desktop.

i think you just confirmed my point, i'm not saying don't do it, just that there is no reason to do it for higher quality recordings.

with all the technological improvments since netmd came out i doubt there is any reason to do realtime at all unless your computer access is limited. i know there are some who are set in there habbits too, who enjoy the time spent listening during recording, not just after.

i might be in japan in june, i guess i'll see how good i am at resisting when i see it in person

or as a dirty workaround you could make sure all your atrac3/3+ files have no DRM then store them in a network folder. you'd probably have to copy the files from the network folder to the local hard drive then drop them into sonicstage, transfer then delete off the laptop to maintain disk space.
