  1. Sorry if this has been posted before but i just want give my 2cents. What really bums me out is that umd's physical recordable surface area is smaller than hi-md's/md but offering 1.8gig of memory space, while minidiscs' currently offer up to only 1gig in comparison to umd. Sony should have improved upon the hi-md and use it for psp so mds can survive. What about piracy you say? They could actually put restrictions e.g. Data MDs to prevent piracy or any homebrew applications. What would please my ears is to hear higher capacity hi-mds(like everybody else)since it is just ever so slighty bigger than umds. Or if not possible to expand hi-md's capacity, make portable umd recorder/players exactly like md players, with all the features and capabilities (although i like hearing higher capacity mds more than umd recorder/players), and now an umd recorder is out oh no! To solve that problem uncrackable restrictions to burn only music, and nothing else. Thats all! Now let us debate. Edit: whoops forgot to say that for umd and md physical size comparison just go to the Gallery tab at the top and search: umd.
  2. The irony is that im posting this exact post from a borrowed psp which is very hard! thanks 4 letting me know that md supports 352kbs. my point is that i am happy with psp's sound quality & imma buy 1. btw this took me 30 minutes to type, cheers.
  3. Lol, those are not even data MDs. But still cool to see a md in the matrix.
  4. The PSP supports 320kb/s atracplus, so are they going to be firmware updates for minidiscs? Or maybe if there are future units, maybe they will support 320 kb/s atracplus. I like to see that happen.
  5. Lol, the problem is that i have neither devices.
  6. How would the psp's sound quality be compared to the mz-nh1, or to be more direct does the psp support the digital hd amp. If not what does the psp use for its sound amp? I thought maybe i could play my music on the psp than on a minidisc recorder since the psp is like a portable media center.
  7. don't these two look similar? http://www.bose.ca/controller?event=VIEW_P...tnav_txt_photos and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ps3-4.jpg. i am not promoting the idea they had a partnership. just wanted to point out they look similar. btw, im buying the ps3 just to play mgs:4 the teaser is awesome http://www.konami.jp/gs/kojima_pro/movie/tgs2005_mgs4.asx

    Hardest Element

i just did some extra research and came across Boron-nitride, an alloy of aluminium, magnesium and boron. i have no idea which one is harder since im only 14.
  9. idiotic question, are minidiscs smaller or are umds smaller in dimensions.
  10. What would be the hardest element except for carbon(diamonds)? i am suggesting titanium, tungsten carbide, forged steel or 7075 aluminium or any other variety of a element or alloy. also what would be the lightest metal(titanium?)? Please share what you know.
  11. if this thread is still being monitored........i personally would buy a nh1, but for you i think a rh10 would be great. sturdiness i don't know but i know that the rh10 and rh910 scratches very easily. i think the himds should be sturdy enough. hope this helps.

    Rh10 Features

I just noticed the rh10 also doesn't have a vpt acoustics engine. Is this because of the different amp/chip? Edit: i just found that out, that it does not have a vpt acoustics engine and it also does not have a HD Digital amp(whats the difference between hd and normal amp?)

    Rh10 Features

Ok back to main topic. I searched but can not find accurate information on the mz-rh10 features. on some older threads i see ppl dissing the rh10 and saying the nh900 is actually better . i just need some hard evidence on the features it does have and difference between nh1. thanks in advance. Edit: don't wanna make another post, the main reason im all freaked out is because here http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-RH10.html comepared to this http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH1.html makes the rh10 look like an entry level hi-md, is the features part for the rh10 just not finished yet? or is that really all it has, i hope not.

    Rh10 Features

Just when i got all excited about it having good quality sound, now its not. Can some one do a test to compare the sound quality between a nh1 and rh10? I don't have any equip or programs to do it. Help is always appreciated.
  15. Yes, you do have to completely charge them for the first time. Actually to preserve Ni-MH batteries' life keep a little bit of charge in the battery when not using it for a very long time so it doesn't over dis-charge, believe it or not.

    Rh10 Features

This is a 2 part question. I just assumed that the RH10 is as feature packed as the nh1 for some reason, but than after reading someother posts about other things i started to doubt if it is. Except for the timestamp ommission in the Rh10 and the rh10 being able to playback mp3, is the Rh10 as feature filled as the nh1? or is it just fancy looking. Question number 2 how come the rh10 isnt avaiable in stores yet like it happened to the nh1, if i wanted a rh10 i was told that i had to order one and put a down payment to make sure i was serious about buying one, but i don't like the idea of that. Is ther another way to obtain the rh10 in bc, canada? I would really appreciate any answers or opinions. Edit: sorry to cram so many questions in one post, but i really need to know because im planning to get a rh10, i have searched but i can't find out what material the rh10 is made out of. Hopefully not plastic, or atleast only half plastic. Thanks lots for any answers to these questions.

    Psp

the proto-type psp seems to have more features than the released one, like the joystick its gone. i was wondering why Sony would do such thing 0_o.
  20. Surely the more the better! But are thoses capacities even possible? Maybe in the future the capacity will improve, but i doubt its possible for now.
  21. I know this is a very, very stupid and noobie question, but i really need to the answer 'cause I am gonna buy the NH1 within this month. Before I thought the maximum amount of music the 1 GB disc can hold is around 2000, but recently I saw in the SonyStyle catalogue it said that it can hold 690 song at 48kbps. Is this the maximum amount of music the 1Gb disc can hold? Replies would be appreiciated! ^^
  22. Nobody at all knows anything about it? Is it a publicity photo? Limited edition? Any reply would be awesome!
  23. hi everyone! i have a question that i think was not mentioned before, does the 1 Gb disk have the shock resistant coating layer that the 80 min disks had? btw, i think Sony should have made the disk clear or tinted!
  24. Since japan gets the newer electronics before any other country i thought that it would made sense if i visited their japanese website for newest personal audio models. While i was searching i came across this http://www.jp.sonystyle.com/Qnavi/Detail/S.../SW-WKM-25.html what is this model? i never heard or seen it before, it looks like a mz-n10 but its not......it also has this multi pixel screen. Anyone knows what this is??
