What!?!? Two line display.....I want that, wonder why they ditched that idea, could have atleast left it as an option for us.

Hmm i feel inclined to buy an inferior battery. But i suppose that could work in a pinch. Also they need to start making LIP-4WMs!!!!! Either they 1) provide a higher capacity lithium-ion battery ( i would buy it for $80 US) or 2) sell a battery with the same specs as the lip-4wm but half price. I mean seriously $50 for a battery .......

I feel a bit dumb posting this since everybody probably already knows this but oh well. I have recently complained how you can't search for songs with out changing the current track. The simple way is to just buy a RM-MC40ELK remote, but i don't like that remote so i found out a way to do it on the RM-MC38EL. What you do is hold down the play mode button on the remote for a few seconds until you go into a menu, now you press the play button and search for the group the song is in, then you search for the song, and when you find that song you want to possibly play next, you just press the play button and it will automatically play it. Now the pupose of doing this is so you can browse through the songs you have without changing the current track, which i find annoying. And please do tell me if i am being redundant and there is an option to browse through songs without changing the current track. Anyways i hope this helps a person or two. ps, this should work on any remote with a play mode button. Update: if you are now in the song selection progress but decided to change the group simply press the stop button and you will be back at the group selection. Remember the song won't change to the one you want unless you press the play button, makes sense ehh?

Lol, ramblings are a good way to express yourself. I just got myself a RH1 on Tuesday, so i now how you feel. Right now i am so obsessed about md. I missed the sound quality so much. Iv'e also been using crappy inferior mp3 players. And one day i said to myself "i had enough of this!" so i went to the sony store and told them to order one for me and just got it on Tuesday. Anyways i hope you enjoy your RH1 as much as i do. ps, post some pictures! My pictures are in the pictorials.

i see so many ppl with this problem and truly do feel sorry for them. there are ways around teh restrictions but are tedious. much like what bobt said, go treat yourself and buy a RH1....

One thing that i don't see being mentioned is the source..... it only gets as good as the source, impossible for something encoded to surprass the original source. I personally like to listen to 356 or occasionally 256 when i run outta room. Imho if your gonna listen to low bit rates why not just ditch md and buy an ipod...... anyways thats for another time. I bought my RH1 for the sound quality that mds can reproduce. Also i agree with what 1kyle said. Just my .02

Is it just me or has my thread been hi-jacked..... I have also considered the EX90SL but thought they were just an over rated version of the ex71. They are also way to expensive. Anyways the ex71 is like a love hate relationship, so what makes them better or worse compared to variable x? And even better i want the ex80s, heard good things about them......

In the RH1 manual it clearly says that sound files transfered from the computer do not have time stamping, only files that you record yourself with the RH1 include time stamping.......but i have about 10 tracks that do have time stamping and some are dated all the way back to 2003 or even 2000. Now all the songs on my RH1 are transfered from the computer....so what gives? I mean if its gonna include time stamp then do that for all songs, but if its not like the manual says then don't include weird time stamps..... also not that it matters the time and date on my RH1 is correct. I would greatly appreciate any insight on this......glitch?

Sony Hi-MD Walkman MZ-RH1 Pictorial
Sparda replied to Ishiyoshi's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Nice pictures Ishiyoshi! Am i a bit slow or what, but i didn't know the RH1 came with a cradle..... Lol, if it really does then im missing my cradle....gotta go phone Sony. Or maybe is it only for imported models? -
Could it possibly be that my hearing has gotten more sensitive? Because really 4 is plenty loud, and if i feel like rocking i might go to 8. Although at school i normally turn it up and above 8. But at home i keep it at 4.

How many bits is the sony hd digital amp? just curious because sharp have 1 bit amps......

Hey guys, as promised. Hope you enjoy even though they are blurry. I also hope they work. Just a little update
-
i don't understand the point of that, why not just play the disc directly.... or am i missing something here??? Anyways the best way to find out is to try it out yourself.....
-
What volume do you lsiten on, on your md player? Because i remember when i still had my n510 i had to listen to music on about 12 - 16, so that it was loud enough. Now that i have my RH1 i only have to put it on like 4 -6 and its plenty loud. I used stock earbuds for both the n510 and RH1. So i was wondering what was up with that? Anyways what volume do you listen on?
-
maybe your disc is corrupt. try another disc and format your old one.

Thanks for the comments guys, really appreciate it. And the sound reproduction of it really is superb. Even my very first md player n510 sounds better then any non-md player. The RH1 really is a work of art. But one gripe is that i can't listen to a track and then search for other ones without it changing songs. I found a way to do this but it is very tedious. Is there a better way to search for songs without changing the current one? Lastly i promise to do my best to come up with some close ups the RH1 before today ends. Best regards to all.

lol cause i personally thought they looked nice, but who cares, they dont serve a purposeful purpose. I really am very satisfied with the quality, i have never seen quality like this since.......never!
-
the rh1 is the only recorder/player that can upload unlimited recordings of anything from any input other then the ones already from sonicstage.

Lol, i finally got it today like they told me. I just got back from my local sony store and returned home satisfied with a brand new RH1. Currently it is charging and has exactly 2 hours left for the full charge( how long do i charge it for for the first time?) And to tell you the truth seeing the thing first hand is better then anything else. All my previous worries are now all gone. I mean i got the best music player in the whole world!!(whos with me!?!?) My first impressions are WOW! This thing is definetly not cheap like some ipods i see, lol. The quality, finsh and attention to detail is way, way beyond my expectations. It really does feel like a quality work of art. Not with some cheap bland white plastic all over the place. The coolness of the metal against my hand feels very pleasent. Anyways i just wanted to do an updated. Who knows, i might even type up my own review later on...... Sony has done it again! - One satisfied Hi-MD owner ps one dissapointment i found was that the back doesnt have all the fancy logos and features on it, like the NH1 or N10 etc. lol

lol i just ordered a rh1 on sunday and i can pick it up on tuesday. hope i made the right decisions.

I need some good canal earphones and was wondering waht people use and like. Price range is anything under $100. And yes i did see the sticky for headphones, but they didn't compare canal earphones to each other. Im thinking of these: sony mdr-ex81lp, sony mdr-nx1a and the panasonic rp-je50. I need some insight and suggestions. ps i meant $100 canadian.
