The only e-tailer that stocks the RM-MC55ELKL is bargaining4all.com. (and they are a Chinese based e-store) However, the remote is going to cost you somewhat. I believe bargaining4all.com is offering the remote for around $90USD inclusive of shipping (shipping to US from China). If you are still interested, email aocheng, the owner of the e-store and ask him for a deal.

Mz-n420d Can Play Hi-md? Data Storage?
Ishiyoshi replied to catch's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Do remember to use Minidisc.org's Equipment Browser for further information with regard to the current selections of HiMD device. -
Thanks for the link. However, that is just its Operational/User Manual. @DrJonno: I will check with the service manual dealer, which I frequent; and get a quote if you wish. However, I can't guarantee the service manual will have instructions for regional settings.

Welcome to MDCF! I am sure you can do that. Unfortunately, that will require D-NE800's service manual and we do not have that at the moment.

Mz-n420d Can Play Hi-md? Data Storage?
Ishiyoshi replied to catch's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Welcome to MDCF! That's a negative to both your query. The N420D is a NetMD unit and it cannot utilize HiSP, HiLP or PCM. In addition, it is a downloader unit, which means that is has no line/mic/optical inputs, no remote and no built-in editing functions of a regular NetMD device. -
That's brilliant! Please do share with us your impressions - we certainly love to read it.

I forgot to add that you could try using the MDAC repair tool, which you can obtain from the "Downloads" section of this forum. (top left corner)

Yes there do exist and you can visit Head-Fi for more information with regards to which suit your needs best. I would recommend the Xin's Super-Macro or Super-Mini Headphone Amp. [visit Xin Feng Company] Look at these pictures - variation of Xin headphone amp. If you want good isolation for in-flight music enjoyment, you will need those noise cancellation 'phones. Headphone amp will not help in this regard; but will of course significantly increase the sound quality or soundstage if you will.

Brilliant! Thanks to everyone who've contributed!

Interesting conjecture, breepee2. However, in my opinion, your conjecture has no concrete foundation from the beginning and you continue to back your thesis by hearsay and sources that do not actually define Sony’s official position with regards to the format. At this point, it is only plausible to state that Sony may phase out the production of legacy MiniDisc device with the advent of second generation Hi-MD units. This is really nothing new. Therefore, I think an edit of your thread title is in order until Sony actually concludes the end of the MiniDisc format.

Objsir.exe is located in the SonicStage program folder [usually in C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage]. Objsir.exe is a System Information Tool to restore music files that have been rendered unplayable for some reason. In addition, I have edited your post above to reflect the quote you wish to include from "post #8" from another thread.

Welcome to the forum! The "cannot locate the files required to open the database file" issue can be resolve by re-registering the MDAC. You can download the MDAC repair tool here. If the problem still persist after trying the above solution, try the following steps provided by Sony to one of our member: Good luck and do let us know how it goes.

I don't think you can change the default "MainPlayMode --> Normal Play" with the RH10. The unit automatically resets itself back to "Normal Play" mode once you swap disc; regardless the play mode you have selected previously.

Welcome to MDCF! That's a nice little set-up. Hope to see some MD media in your estore in the future. bland, do you ever use YJapan Auctions? I see the E610 almost every other week.

Oh this is brilliant. Good luck with your broadcast.

Unless you have contacts in Japan, I believe Minidisco is the only US-based etailer that still takes order for the ATH-F55. Just a note of interest for you to ponder: User reviews/impressions at Head-Fi suggest that this headphone, the ATH-F55 is not really that great.
-
I believe your problem lie in the bit rate of your Mp3s = 24 kbps. According to the MZ-RH10's user manual, the unit only support Mp3s rated at bit rates of 32 to 320 kbps.

A few months ago, I bought a couple of Sony NH-14WM gumsticks via a thread kurisu had created (the thread is now missing due to a system technical issue) for $3.49 per piece. Great deal indeed. Now, it is even lower!! If you folks are interested, you can get them for $2.99 per piece from The Electronic Goldmine. Note: Sale Price expires 07/15/05

I can confirm that. My Japanese NH1 was supplied with both lengths. The Zip-Linq is indeed a smart alternative. For those curious, here's how it looks like. Thanks for the tip, BobS.
