USB hubs are known to create connectivity issue between SonicStage and its Walkman. Try and connect your NW-A3000 directly to your PC's USB port instead of the USB hub.

If those files are all non-DRM ATRAC tunes, you will have no problem importing them back via SonicStage (files from the intended “slave drive”). Concerning your Network Walkman - if you do not require CONNECT music service, please install either SonicStage of Asia-Pacific region or JEB version to avoid that cumbersome "re-initialization" process.

Done I've upgraded to SonicStage 4.3 and there is no discernable difference between SonicStage 4.2 and version 4.3 apart for full Vista support.

Welcome to MDCF! Unfortunately, MD Simple Burner does not support Windows Vista. In addition, there are no plans from Sony to update MD Simple Burner with Windows Vista support. Therefore, you will have to use SonicStage 4.3 under Vista environment.

As promised, Sony has released a new version of SonicStage with full Microsoft Windows Vista compatibility. The new update naturally is significant for those with plans to upgrade or already have upgraded their system with Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows Vista (Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Ultimate). In addition, a Windows Vista Compatible Driver for NetMD and Hi-MD has been made available and can be acquired from our download section of the forum or officially from Sony. Applicable models include: MZ-NH1, MZ-NH3, MZ-NH600, MZ-NH600D, MZ-NH700, MZ-NH900, MZ-NHF800, MZ-RH1, MZ-RH10, MZ-RH710, MZ-RH910, MZ-N1, MZ-N10, MZ-N505, MZ-N510, MZ-N707, MZ-N710, MZ-N920, MZ-N910, MZ-NF610 and MZ-S1. Welcome to MDCF! Because you’ve referenced error code: 00007173, I will assume the tracks you’ve attempt to import are Mp3s. In any event, SonicStage’s error code: 00007173 is usually the result of an attempt to import Mp3 files with the following characteristics: Mp3s with lower bit rates (i.e. 48 kbps or lower)Solution: reconvert these lower bit rates to higher bit rates of your choice Mp3s of VBR (variable bit rate)Solution: reconvert these Mp3s into CBR (constant bit rate) type. Unusual Mp3 tagsSolution: re-tag (with utility such as Tag&Rename) those Mp3s in question for it to playback properly with SonicStage. If the Mp3s in question exhibit the above characteristics, please try the prescribed solutions. For your reference, most users with similar issue will tend to retag those affected files, i.e. remove the old tags and rename them from the title to the comments.
