Since you are operating in an English Windows environment, you will need to run SonicStage CP 4.2 (Japanese version) via Microsoft AppLocale. In addition, ensure your system has East Asian language files installed. Review this guide for further information.

It's definitely possible. I remember reading a review on a successful 40GB HDD upgrade, performed on the VAIO Pocket 20GB. If I remember correctly, the VAIO Pocket's software or firmware if you will is stored in its flash Rom.

If you are seeking for advice regarding charging and discharging lithium-ion batteries, please review this guide from BatteryUniversity.com. To maximize battery life, utilize the ATRAC format as suggested by the user above.

Welcome to ATRACLife! Unfortunately, there is no volume normalizer for the ATRAC format.

Welcome to ATRACLife! If you follow the "Titling ATRAC Files In Japanese/Chinese/Korean" guide to the letter, you should not encounter any Japanese titling issue. To install the Japanese version of SonicStage on Windows of English version, you will first need to extract the Japanese installer to a folder of your choice and then edit its SetupSS.ini file accordingly. The edit is essential so that the installer will run on English WinXP environment. If you need an edited version of the installer, please reply within this thread or drop me a pm.

I'm pleased that the principal issue has been resolved. From the manual of NW-A3000, the link button as shown in the diagram below: To disable the volume limiter, review the guide (which you have mentioned in post #4) and proceed accordingly. Good luck.

You definitely do not need to reinitialize the NW-E507 since SonicStage did not request for it. You said: “when I started to transfer some songs onto my 507, there was one stupid problem: I have set my file transfer mode to ATRAC3plus 64kps.” Just out of curiosity, what format is your music intended for the file transfer? Was it ATRAC3/ATRAC3plus or Mp3? SonicStage has been known to not work with VBR Mp3s. If your music intended for file transfer is of Mp3 VBR type, you may need to reconvert them to fixed bit rate Mp3s. (i.e. CBR type) In addition, only Mp3 format of 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sampling frequency can be converted to ATRAC3/ATRAC3plus format. If the problem still persists, you will definitely have to consider reinstalling SonicStage (yet again) as suggested in our SonicStage Software FAQ or reinitialize your NW-E507.

After you have uninstalled SonicStage, did you run a registry cleaner as outlined in step 6? This step is essential as it will help clean out any remnants of SonicStage's registry which may be the root of your current predicament. In any event, let's try this instead --> I've extracted the latest version of OpenMG Secure Module for your convenience. Please download and run/install OpenMG Secure Module 4.6.01.10041 accordingly. Then try and run SonicStage CP 4.2 once again; and if prompted for OpenMG Secure Module.msi package, direct SonicStage to the extracted OpenMG Secure Module folder. If the problem still persists, you may want to uninstall/reinstall SonicStage as suggested in our FAQ. Good luck.

Do I need to use AppLocale if I've Windows XP MUI?
Ishiyoshi replied to wai_lai416's topic in Software
Yes, you will need to utilize Microsoft AppLocale and its respective registry edit even having the MUI pack installed. Note: some Chinese characters may appear as "???" even after applying the appropriate registry edit. This is because some Chinese characters are not present within the Japanese kanji library. Registry edit can be applied to any regional version of SonicStage. If you do not require the Connect Music Store, install either the Asia Pacific or JEB version of SonicStage 4.2. -
Welcome to ATRACLife! To resolve this issue: error message - “Cannot find OpenMG secure module” which appears during installation of SonicStage CP, please check and proceed with the following: Make sure that you are using a computer with an account that has the administrator rights. Make sure that you have downloaded the latest SonicStage version available. Make sure that you have updated your computer and your operating system with the latest updates. Make sure that your computer is free from spyware: for more information, please visit the Microsoft security website. Click Start, Settings, then go to the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs, and remove SonicStage. Download, install and run the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp utility (click here) or a registry cleaner usch as CCleaner. (click here) Click Start, Settings, then go to the Control Panel. Open the Administrative Tools and make sure that your Windows Installer is set to automatic and is running. If not, run it. Install SonicStage (make sure that no other program is running background) and follow the onscreen instructions. Restart the computer if asked so.If the problem still persists, please report back. *thread moved to its appropriate section of the forum

@TopDog: I called Sony Japan and managed to acquire the correct part number for MZ-1's AC Adaptor - sorted by region: US: 1-466-884-11 Japan: 1-466-887-11 UK: 1-466-886-11 Australia: 1-467-364-11 Unfortunately, Sony DAPC no longer stocks the original MZ-1 AC Adaptor but they have a replacement part – 1-475-555-41 with a price tag of $76.95. For your reference, the replacement adaptor AC-PBD1’s specifications: •Rated Input:120V, 60Hz, 0.30A •Rated Output: 10V, 1.3A •Dimensions (Approx.): 2 x 2 3/4 x 1 1/4 in (w/h/d) •Color: Black I was assured by Sony Japan that the replacement AC Adaptor will work with the MZ-1, but please confirm with Sony DAPC before proceeding with the order. Once again, my apologies for any inconvenience caused.
