Also, ensure that you are not employing a USB hub. If so, please try and connect your Walkman to another USB port.

Transferring SonicStage library from one PC to another
Ishiyoshi replied to sunking101's topic in Software
Welcome to ATRACLife! I have just answered your query at MDCF! Anyhow, this is most peculiar. Sony claims that removable media such as CD-R/CD-RW, DVD+R/ DVD+RW, and DVD-R/ DVD-RW can be used as backup media for SonicStage Backup Tool. Concerning your present music library registered with SonicStage, are they 100% DRM free? If they are, you can simply copy them over to a new external HDD. I maintain a large ATRAC library via an external 320GB HDD and it works just fine with any desktops and notebooks that has SonicStage installed. -

You can rest assured that your thread being moved into the off topic section does not imply that we pay any less attention to your concern. It’s moved simply because you have yet again posted in the wrong section of the forum. For organization purpose, we would like to keep the Hi-MD section of the forum with discussion strictly pertaining to the Hi-MD format (the format is still alive as many users would say albeit only as a niche or “professional” recording market) – not with reports regarding the stock of MiniDisc media in the United States. I am sure you are aware that the “Off-topic” section at MDCF is as legitimate as any section of the forum. The administrators/moderators of MDCF treats every section of the forum seriously. Must I explain to you that censoring or burying negative reports of the format’s state is not MDCF’s goal? Along with other forum members, we have been working hard to keep the spirit of the format alive and if I may say so, we are one of the biggest forums of MiniDisc and have supported it for ages with free resources along with support for the format. Just as Volta states in the preceding posts – “this thread is about not stocking/selling the discs...not about making them, not?” Thus, the reason for its moved to the present location.

Unless someone can prove otherwise, I don't think it’s possible.

The root of your problem is the failure to backup (using SonicStage Backup Tool) your existing ATRAC library registered to SonicStage before the fresh installation of WinXP. Regardless of DRM issue, you should have utilized SonicStage Backup Tool to safeguard your tunes purchased from Connect Music Store.

OpenMG Jukebox "Cannot locate the application required" error
Ishiyoshi replied to downlowmatt's topic in Software
Welcome to MDCF! To resolve this issue, you will need to reinstall both SonicStage CP 4.2 (refer to our Hi-MD/NetMD SonicStage Software FAQ) and MDS-NT1's driver which is located within its bundled CD-ROM (or you can download it from our Downloads section). Good luck and report back if the problem still persists. Note: you can't upload music via USB with the MDS-NT1. However, you could upload via realtime. For more information, please review this guide. -
Did you upgrade SonicStage recently? or perhaps performed Windows System Restore? If you have performed either recently without running SonicStage Backup, you may have lost your rights to these songs. Thus, the inability to transfer tracks with SonicStage. If the above does not apply to you, you may need to re-install the latest PxEengine version for SonicStage to resolve the problem with creating CDs. To download the latest version of PxEngine, please click here (*PxEngine is basically a writing engine which relay tasks between a given software and your CD/DVD writer). Good luck and report back if the problem still persists.

Welcome to MDCF, mech86! As SBG has mentioned above, please include more tech info regarding your present system. What sort of songs were you trying to transfer? Mp3 or ATRAC3? The more you tell us, the more likely a solution can be found. In addition, please review our Hi-MD/NetMD SonicStage Software FAQ if you have not done so.

There are other portable external power sources that you can employ for the RH1. One worth mentioning is Macally’s IP-A481 --> read this thread for more information.
