Brilliant! You can imagine further growth rate once the "mother" conclude its advertising with MDCF. -
No, I don't have access to these applications. The reason I asked for your location is so I could provide you with the appropriate Sony Service Center location nearest to you.

Thanks for pointing that out. My mistake to assume he was looking for a NiMH battery. Even I suffer from a lapse of memory. Now, to properly answer your query: The price of Sony Lithium-Ion battery, LIP-4WM in particular varies from $49 to $60 depending where you get them. AudioCubes stocks them for $49, MiniDisc Access and MiniDisco for $59 respectively.

Brilliant. Thanks for the information.

omgjbox is a common problem and solutions to this problem varies depending on your system setup. Please follow the instructions outlined in the "Hi-MD/NetMD Software FAQ" and post back with your system specs. In addition, try and install the MS04-032 Security Update for Windows. This patch is meant for users without WinXP SP2. Regardless, it worked for some and hope it will for you.

Perhaps the 8th song is a VBR or CBR Mp3? If it is, try and use software like dBpowerAMP and convert the mp3 in question (assuming it is a VBR/CBR type) into non-VBR/CBR Mp3. Then try converting this non-VBR/CBR Mp3 into LP4 with SonicStage.

Which version of SonicStage did you install? If you are using SonicStage other than version 3.1, please refer to the "pinned" threads of the "Software Discussion/FAQ's" and install version 3.1 accordingly. If your SonicStage is up-to-date, please refer to the Hi-md/netmd Software Faq and uninstall-reinstall the software accordingly. At this point, it seems that the drivers for your device did not install properly.

Sorry, I do not have the NH900, thus can't confirm if its dry battery case is identical to those of NetMDs. However, I can confirm that RH10's dry battery case is not the same as NetMD's dry battery case. If you are looking to purchase MZ-N710's dry battery case, you can order it direct from Sony DAPC for $3.54. The part number is 324589001. Of course, call in (Sony DAPC, 1-800-488-SONY (7669)) and confirm before you conclude the transaction.

After you have converted those VBR Mp3 files into ATRAC3+, ensure that you import them back to the music library separately. However, before doing so, it is important that you remove those VBR Mp3s; in other words, you need to separate VBR Mp3s and ATRAC3+ files of the same music track or album. I reckon that is why SonicStage choose to copy the original VBR Mp3s over to your Hi-MD media instead of the converted ATRAC3+.

That's great. In the future, remember to pay attention to the "pinned" section of the Software Discussion/FAQ's, especially this thread - we will periodically update its link according to the latest available version of SonicStage.

Brilliant! I reckon it is time we edit the title of this thread to "... has 8,000 registered users!" -
Where did you purchased the blue 1GB disc?
-
All Sony NetMD’s dry battery case is identical and you can certainly use the N910’s dry battery case with the N710.

I do not have either ear-buds, therefore can't comment on actual soundstage or built quality. To be fair, those impressions and reviews are subjective. So, it's really up to you to decide which ear-buds suit you best. Check out the links in the preceding post for impressions and reviews.
-
I read that the Bang & Olufsen A8 is pretty decent for a mid-range ear-bud with good built quality. However, I believe most audiophiles will recommend you the ATH-CM7ti instead. Check these Head-Fi threads for the ATH-CM7ti review and the Bang & Olufsen A8 impressions and reviews.

Welcome to MDCF, joytopper. If you look harder within this forum, you will find that a new clear blue 1gb Hi-MD media is now available. Please refer to this thread for pictures and information.

liangxjing, where are you located? If you truly want to resurrect your MZ-N10, you will need to send it to a Sony Service Center. I don't think there's a DIY route now; unless there's more information pertaining to the NVWriter or PatchWriter application in the service manual.

No, you do not need to reconvert your VBRs to non-VBR Mp3s before moving them over to the Hi-MD/MD media as ATRAC in its final form. To be clear, if you want to move your VBR Mp3s --> ATRAC3+, you have to use SonicStage 3.1 to convert these VBR Mp3s into ATRAC3+ first. Then you copy or if you will move them over to the Hi-MD/MD media. A simple click on "transfer-and-convert" will not do. SonicStage will not conduct simultaneous conversion of VBR Mp3s into ATRAC3+ during the transfer. I don't think one will lose significant quality by converting VBR Mp3s to ATRAC3+ before transfering them over to the Hi-MD media. It's simply a transfer at this point.

Welcome to MDCF! This is not a known physical fault. From your description, it appears that the lid/hinge of the unit is damaged. Did you ever drop the unit on a hard surface? At this point, it would be best you sent the unit to a Sony Service Center to rectify the problem. I doubt that there’s a quick DIY solution. Good luck, Chris.

Welcome to MDCF! SonicStage 3.1 handles Mp3 format just fine. The problem is the hardware, MZ-NH600. The MZ-NH600 being a 1st generation Hi-MD, simply do not support Mp3 playback. Mp3 playback capability was only recently incorporated with the advent of 2nd generation Hi-MD units. If you really need Mp3 playback with Hi-MD, you will need to acquire a 2nd generation unit. Please run a search within the forum regarding 2nd generation units accordingly.
-
Oh, no problem at all. I just realized that you if want to transfer-and-convert existing VBR Mp3s/non-Mp3s from the music library over to a second generation Hi-MD unit as a ATRAC/3+ file, it is necessary that you convert the Mp3 file in question to ATRAC/3+ before doing so. SonicStage 3.1 will not transfer-and-convert (Mp3s to ATRAC/3+) simultaneously to the Hi-MD media - the file will simply remain as Mp3 format in the HiMD media should you just click transfer-and-convert.

Heh... the FAQ is indeed in the "Software Discussion/FAQ's" section of the forum. If you look at the "pinned" threads of this section carefully, the title of the uninstall-reinstall procedure thread, which you have read reads: Hi-md/netmd Software Faq.
-
Please continue discussion here.
-
I reckon you will need to uninstall SonicStage 3.1. Please follow the instructions outlined in the FAQ to properly uninstall SonicStage. Do let us know if the problem still persists.
-
Yes indeed. With the RH10 or any second generation unit, we can transfer VBR and CBR Mp3s to the HiMD as it is. However, if the desired format to be placed onto the RH10 or other second generation unit is ATRAC/3+, conversion of Mp3 --> ATRAC/3+ within SonicStage 3.1 is necessary.
