Indeed. I ought to clarify that you do not need to perform a manual uninstallation of your existing SonicStage 3.4. As Richard indicates, uninstallation will be initiated during the upgrade using the MZ-RH1's bundled SonicStage 3.4.02.14030. Good luck and report back if you encounter any issues.

I don't believe there's any other easier way to upgrade without uninstalling the older version. One thing you could try is to manually install the required modules within the bundled CD-ROM. But that is not advisable. If someone knows of a simple method, please do chime in. In any case, if your ATRAC library does not consist of DRM tunes, you do not really need to use SonicStage Backup Tool. An upgrade of SonicStage will be safe. I have my entire ATRAC library (approx. 100GB) in an external enclosure and I can assure you that it's still intact upon every upgrade.

I have employed the AC-E30A with the MZ-RH10 (which is similar to the MZ-M100) without any issues. Rest assured, it's absolutely safe.

The next release from Sony due this Fall (that is if it's still on schedule) will be another round of flash players. A complete revamp to its HDD line will follow accordingly. Stay tuned!
