NW-A608 SI (Snow Silver Special Edition) Pictoral
Ishiyoshi replied to kungfool's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
The new firmware 2.0 for NW-A60x series works just fine with my NW-A608/SI. No detrimental effects and its exclusive display screen remains intact. -
For those interested, this firmware applies to NW-A608/SI as well.

The CKH clear protective case is made of polycarbonate material and I assume it's somewhat scratch resistant.

Both the CKH-NWA3000 and CKH-NWA1000 will only hit Japanese retail stores on February 10, 2006. Availability for all other region will likely to follow within weeks of the Japanese release. The CKH-NWA3000.

PSP Media Manager Update: version 1.0a Build 193 (December 2005) <HR noShade SIZE=1> Download Links --> Update Version 1.0a Build 193 <HR noShade SIZE=1> Notable Fixes/Changes in Version 1.0a Networking Options have been added to allow you to configure a proxy server override. If you need to specify a proxy server to access feeds and the Gracenote Media Database, click the Networking button in the Settings pane and use the controls on the Networking Options page. A bug has been fixed that could cause PSP™ Media Manager to crash on startup. A bug has been fixed that could prevent episodes from being deleted even if you had selected the Delete all downloaded files check box when removing the feed. A bug that prevented compressed-format WAV files from being encoded to MP3 has been fixed. A bug has been fixed that could cause audio/video synchronization offsets when re-encoding QuickTime video. A bug has been fixed that caused tracks to be numbered incorrectly when transferring more than 99 tracks.Known IssuesIf you have a USB SmartMedia reader device installed on your PC, you may experience problems when you attempt to access your CD drive from PSP™ Media Manager software for extracting audio from CDs. This is due to an error in the SmartMedia reader driver. Using the Unplug or Eject Hardware Wizard to remove the reader should allow PSP™ Media Manager software to function normally. If you've formatted a Memory Stick Duo using Windows Explorer or if you're using a new Memory Stick, please reformat using the PSP™ system. For more information, please refer to the documentation included with the PSP™ system. The software supports unprotected media files. Files purchased via Connect, iTunes or other services are encoded with DRM (digital rights management) and cannot be transferred via PSP™ Media Manager software. An hourglass appears the first time you open a folder containing several photo, music, or video files. The files are available, but there may be a pause before they are displayed in the software. QuickTime® 7 is required to preview Sony AVC/AAC (*.mp4) video files on your PC. If you are having difficulty previewing video, check the following QuickTime setting: From the Edit menu, choose QuickTime Preferences. Click the File Types tab and expand the MPEG - MPEG system, video, and audio files category. Select the MPEG-4 media check box, and then close QuickTime. QuickTime 7 is required to transfer MPEG4 part 2 (*.mp4) video files from your PC. Attempting to extract audio from a CD while the disc is playing in a media player can cause playback problems and can freeze the application. You may experience problems if your My Documents folder is mapped to a network drive and your network connection is slow. In this case, copy your music, photos and videos to a local drive and PSP™ Media Manager will function properly. If you experience problems transferring files from a network drive or a USB/IEEE-1394 removable drive, copy the files to a local hard drive and retry the transfer. PSP™ Media Manager supports feeds created using the RSS 2.0 (with enclosures) specification. Web feeds can contain many types of media, including those not supported by PSP™ Media Manager. Unsupported media enclosures will not transfer to the PSP™ system. <HR noShade SIZE=1>

Indeed. John Ondrasik is simply brilliant.

Welcome to ATRACLife! Please take a look at this LineX Wireless FM Transmitter. Not as tiny as the iTrip but it should work with the NW-A3000.

Rest assured. Any form of HDD will survive the X-ray security scan. I can assure you that my Sony TR5 sub-notebook and the VAIO Pocket work just fine every time I travel by air. Remember, the iPod employs the same Toshiba 1.8" HDD (already mentioned by Stuge in the preceding posts) as most Sony sub-notebooks - that includes the VAIO Pocket as well.
-
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing your work with the community.

Welcome to ALC! I believe all the current NW-HDx series still employ the same CXR704060 module. Please read this thread - Sony Virtual Mobile Engine (VME): The Secret of the Network Walkman's Stamina further.

The Canadian version of SonicStage 3.3 is identical to the Asia-Pacific and JEB (Overseas Model) version - it does not include the Connect Music Store Module, which the US and Europe version has. If you do not need Connect Music Store, download the Canadian online installer here or just pick between the Asia-Pacific and JEB version. Please disregard the last paragraph of the "SonicStage 3.3 [all Regions] - Download Links" thread if you do not need Connect Music Store.

Europeans: Boost the volume of the NW-HD# series.
Ishiyoshi replied to Christopher's question in Audio
Please read the instructions provided in this thread: Europeans: Boost the Volume of the NW-A3000/1000 and apply it accordingly. -
9HD Network has launched the 29MP4 Video Store, the first full-length feature film and video download store for the PSP. During the initial beta launch, over a dozen films are available at $2.99 each, with a ramp up to over 200 movies and videos planned by mid-2006. The 29MP4 Video Store allows users to browse and purchase MP4 PSP-formatted films and videos that are then downloaded and stored on either a PC or Mac for later transfer and playback on the PSP. --> 29MP4 Video Store

I am sure the security metal detector will pick up the NW-A3000 since it does with my NW-A608.

Welcome to the forums! Sorry for the delayed response. Could you provide a picture of the damaged area? Please send them via pm and I will try my best to help. As for Sony replacement parts, you can order items direct from Sony DAPC either by web/phone/mail. However, not all parts are available since the eggo in question (MDR-D66SL) was never released in the States.

Sony's Stealth Marketing | PlayStation Portable Ads Graffiti-like Graffiti-style art have both artistic and anti-social elements associated with it. Unfortunately, this form of art - especially urban graffiti - has been associated with the illegal expression that constitutes vandalism to the larger society. What are your thoughts on this? Appalling or much more?

I just watched Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress; a truly beautiful, memorable film.
