Likewise - Hi-MD and preferably international trade.

It depends as to which shipping method you've requested. Standard shipping should take about 12-14 business days. You should also take into account the time needed to process your order.

Update: We've uploaded a bunch of user manuals by the download section.

Thanks for your contribution.

Service manuals are not offered via Sony's public website. You will have to either purchase them from a third party dealer or your local Sony Service Center/Parts and Accessories Center.

The ATRAC Audio Device Standard (ATRAC AD) The ATRAC Audio Device standard (ATRAC AD) media format has been adopted in the Walkman Stick and Walkman Square, which have generated much excitement recently. Encryption and decryption functions that conform to the MagicGate copyright protection technology and Inter-device authentication functions are required to support ATRAC AD. At the same time as being able to implement these functions by control with a simple API, the CXD5070 also supports the ATRAC CD standard. MagicGate Encryption/Decryption LSI | Supports ATRAC Audio Device and ATRAC CD ATRAC AD Support Encryption/decryption functions Equipment that supports ATRAC AD can save audio data that was encrypted for copyright protection on storage media such as flash memory or a hard disk. Since the CXD5070 includes decryption functions for this encrypted data that was stored by a device that supports ATRAC AD, it can easily implement music data playback. Furthermore, equipment that supports ATRAC AD and that can acquire audio data from an audio data input terminal or a disk drive can encrypt the acquired audio data and store it on a recording device. The CXD5070 includes both the key generation function required for encryption that conforms to MagicGate as well as encryption functions and thus can implement high-speed ripping. Inter-device authentication functions When audio data is safely transmitted between equipment that supports ATRAC AD or over a connection with a PC on which an application that supports ATRAC AD has been installed, it is necessary to verify and authenticate that the connected device can be trusted. The CXD5070 includes the necessary data and key generation and protection functions for this inter-device authentication. This allows the CXD5070 to form safe inter-device connection environments. ATRAC CD Support Decryption function It is necessary to decrypt data encrypted in conformance with the MagicGate standard to play back audio data recorded under the ATRAC CD standard. The CXD5070 includes functions for decrypting this ATRAC CD encrypted data and can easily implement embedded ATRAC CD playback functions. Simple API The CXD5070 performs complex processing internally using common interfaces, minimal communication functions, and a simple API and can support the implementation of ATRAC AD equipment. Note: The above information is derived from Sony Semiconductor and LCD.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part III]
Ishiyoshi replied to Christopher's topic in Minidisc
I will try to find some time over the weekend and drop you a pm with my observation. -
Actually, I did not find the "pauses" so to speak to diminish the overall recordings. In fact, this is one of the best Nutcracker pieces I've ever listened to; and I feel the tempo is just about right. The main reason I was drawn to Valery Gergiev & the Kirov Orchestra and Choir's version was the fact (at least in my opinion) that too many conductors have commercialized this classic piece. Gergiev in my opinion conducted with superb counterpoint and the Kirov Orchestra followed flawlessly. While we are still on Valery Gergiev, I would like to add that I hear his rendition of Tchaikovsky's the Sleeping Beauty is magnificent as well. That is one title I would like to get next.

Have a Hi-MD question that doesn't need a thread? [part III]

Heh... is this query directed at me? Nice to know that I have a nickname here. Yes, in fact I do own both the R900 and the EH1. However, I have not used the R900 in a long time to give you a fair comparison. If I remember correctly, both units have identical headphone amp - rated at 5mW+5mW. So, sound output should be about the same; but of course the amp engine so to speak is different between the two units. -
That is indeed an oversight. Japanese versions of RH10 are not subject to the EU volume limiter.
-
Most MDCF members acquired their Japanese RH10 from a reputable eBay seller - buyfromjapan.
-
You can definitely change the operational language of the Japanese RH10 to English. Please follow my instructions outlined in post #10 of my RH10 Blue Pictorial. Review the pictorial for exclusive accessories bundled only for the Japanese domestic market.

Brilliant! How do you like André Previn's rendition of the Nutcracker?
-
Indeed, WMA support should follow with the next firmware update; hopefully sometime before Christmas. If you recall: the VAIO Pocket's last firmware was released just before Christmas day last year. Perhaps, we will see the same trend with the A series?
-
Nice Avatar MZ. Indeed, "littleman" does have a pet dog so to speak. When time permits, I will definitely update the disc pictorials with the TDK "doggy" variant.

Welcome to MDCF! SonicStage 3.3 does support Chinese characters as long it's within the Japanese kanji library. Unfortunately, the NW-E307's LCD display does not support multibyte characters (ie. Japanese or Chinese characters). If you have further queries regarding the NW-E307 or its functionality with SonicStage, please pursue them accordingly at our sister forum - ATRACLife Colloquium: which deals with all non-MiniDisc ATRAC based device. Thank you.
