  4. Either one is fine. SonicStage 3.2 Full Installer - only requires one time download; consists of the entire installer package. You can download it to your HDD or a removable media for safe keeping and install whenever you wish. Please note that MDCF's SonicStage 3.2 Full Installer does not come with the Connect Music Service Module. If you need to employ "Connect," please use the official SonicStage 3.2 download links. SonicStage 3.2 [web] Installer - the official SonicStage 3.2 setup installer file. This method will require a net connection to initiate an online stream installation with SonicStage's server.
  5. Your post has been moved out of the announcement thread. Please read the thread's title before posting; your problem has nothing to do with the "MDCF RSS Feed." For SonicStage 3.2 - you can delete temporary files created during transfer to free up hard disk space by "Tools-->Options-->Advance Settings-->utilize "Delete files" or set your "Converted files when transfering settings" accordingly so that it will not reside within the HDD upon every file transfer.
  6. I don't believe there's a neck strap for the NW-E40x/50x series; perhaps you can try and employ neck strap made for the PSP: *you may need to import these items PSP-261 ~ approx. 2300 yen or USD$19.85 or GBP£11.20 PSP-262 ~ approx. 1300 yen or USD$11.20 or GBP£6.30 As for carrying case, there are a few choices due for retail this November: Sony and Elecom. Please note: you may need to import the Elecom case.
  7. Please note that you can't playback ATRAC3plus 320kbps with the VAIO Pocket. The only new ATRAC3plus bit rates made available by SonicStage 3.2 that can be utilized by the VAIO Pocket is 192kbps. *ATRAC3plus bit rates: 320kbps, 256kbps, 192kbps, 160kbps, 128kbps, 96kbps, 64kbps and 48kbps. [bolded = new] There are no significant difference between ATRAC3plus 256kbps and 320kbps; to my ears, the latter is somewhat warmer. I would recommend that you keep using ATRAC3plus 256kbps with the VAIO Pocket. If you are concern with HDD capacity, utilize ATRAC3plus 192kbps instead.
  8. Yes, a cable is supplied for that purpose - please review pictures of the unit within this thread.
  9. This is indeed the first full-fledged Hi-MD Home Audio pictorial-review thread at MDCF. Brilliant! Thanks for taking the time to share your impressions and pictures. They are fantastic. thread pinned
  10. Beautiful indeed and it definitely deserves a pictorial. Perhaps, zerodB could set one up before he parts with it.
  11. You may want to follow this thread to get an idea as to how SonicStage 3.2 organize your music library.
  12. Which audio format (ATRAC3/ATRAC3plus/Mp3) bit rates were you trying to convert and transfer to your NW-HD1? And what is the source of your audio file? In addition, ensure that you've selected the proper "Transfer Mode Settings" prior to a file transfer. Please note that among the new ATRAC3plus bit rates offered by SonicStage 3.2 you can only utilize ATRAC3plus 192kbps with the NW-HD1. ATRAC3plus bit rates: 320kbps, 256kbps, 192kbps, 160kbps, 128kbps, 96kbps, 64kbps and 48kbps. [bolded = new] Please note: According to SonicStage 3.2 Help Index, if the specified bit rate is higher than the bit rate of the original file, the file will likely be transferred at the original bit rate without being converted.
  13. Welcome to ALC, Shael! I noticed you have re-posted your queries in the appropriate section of the forum. For future reference, please post problem related queries in its appropriate section; the news thread is not the place for such queries.
  14. the above posts has been moved from the news thread; please keep all SonicStage problem queries in the "Software" section of the forum.
  15. Welcome to ALC! The VAIO Pocket can be used with all regional SonicStage version. Please update to SonicStage 3.2.
  16. The most significant improvement you get (for your VAIO Pocket) from upgrading to SonicStage 3.2 is the option to playback one of the new ATRAC3plus bit rates: 192kbps.
  17. Since you have successfully deleted remnants of OpenMG Secure Module from your registry, please try and reinstall SonicStage 3.2. It should work this time. As for the "1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime" error, if you wish to rectify this issue --> this guide should point you in the right direction. Good luck.
  18. The album cover looks intriguing. How did you like the album? At my end, I am listening to Duke Ellington and John Coltrane in ATRAC3plus 256kbps. 1. In A Sentimental Mood 2. Take The Coltrane 3. Big Nick 4. Stevie 5. My Little Brown Book 6. Angelica 7. The Feeling Of Jazz
  19. *thread moved to its appropriate section of the forum Welcome to ALC and thanks for sharing your experience. Perhaps, you would like to expand a little on your new 'phone.
  20. My response: "I would say no to a buildup of dirt but definitely lint buildup since it will reside in your pants' pocket" was for "Would the e10 be more suseptable to a buildup of dirt or lint around the controller?" in relation to its joystick/knob controller design. My glove size is 8-1/2, which puts me at about medium size; and I am right-handed as well. Yes, that's a fair conjecture. NH1 vs. E10: Joystick/Knob Controller Comparison --> Bottom line: in my opinion, the E10's protruding joystick/knob controller would be more efficient to facilitate quick action navigation between music tracks because of point b: lacks the encumbrance of having a recessed surround on the joystick; especially for the way you wish to operate the unit.
  21. Don't we just love Q&A's? I am neither at nor ... just and I do enjoy discussion pertaining to industrial design. The recessed socket surrounding the head of the joystick controller may impede ease of use whilst operating from your pocket. Because of this, you may need to re-position the unit within the pocket until you attain its optimum ease of use position. It is important to note that ease of use is also relative to the shape and size of your fingers - especially the index finger. From my experience, I find that the ergonomic design of the NH1 encourages one to use the index finger rather than the thumb finger on the joystick controller. It depends on how you use it. However, because the way it's designed, there are chances of its joystick controller/knob getting caught on a loose thread within your pocket. That's a negative. I would say no to a buildup of dirt but definitely lint buildup since it will reside in your pants' pocket.
  22. No apologies needed. I hope my responses to your queries in my NH1 pictorial thread is adequate enough to assist with your quest for a new unit. Good luck.
  23. I would say yes. One would be able to discern easily with each push of the joystick. I don't use my unit in such manner, but I would say you could do that after some time of familiarization. But ease of use in such a manner would also depend on the size of your fingers so to speak. I believe for those with large sized thumbs, one may find using finger tips better for the small joystick. Yes.
