I just received my first EH1 in the mail today, it isn't new, according to the seller it was 8/10, I'd say more around 6.5 or 7. Anyways, photos are not anything special, but still try and enjoy Enjoy

My path of music devices has gone a similar route, started with some cheap NetMD units (started late), then got a NH600d, but I didnt really understand what the format was all about, I dont recall ever buying more discs, what I did was try and squeeze the most music on one disc. Anyways, after a Dell DJ, iPod photo, Creative Zen VisionM, Black iPod video, White iPod video, iPod touch, Shuffle, and another ipod photo, I've returned to MD as my format. I have over 50 MD's now, and I couldnt be happier. When I returned I got a N1, I began recording MD's in realtime (from a slimline PS2 aswell!) to SP from my CD's. After the N1 shit the bed and stopped recording properly I used a NH3D I had acquired from TBR to record a CD to 352kbps Atrac in sonic stage, and I could tell the difference in quality had improved. After that I started re-recording all of my MD's into Hi-MD format, One CD per MD. I still havent completed swapping all my discs to Hi-MD, but I'm close. The N1 has become a piece in the museum, and I use my NH3D to listen on the go, and a RH1 to record the discs. I now have a EH1 in the mail, and I'm looking for a NH1 I dont know what it really is that draws me to the format, the quality certainly is noticeable, and the cool-factor is unrivaled, but I think the units, and the quality that is just so rare now-a-days that keeps me hooked. PS: The only iPod I use at all would be my iPod touch, and that is exclusively for browsing the forums+ebay around the house.

Hey guys, recently my N1 doesnt seem to record the last few tracks of every CD I try to transfer to MD. I'm creating my MD's using the Optical input from the optical out on my PS2 (only thing that easy transfers track markings around here!!) and then I pop out those SP disc's and play them in my NH3D. My last two disc's have not recorded properly after many re-try's. So here I am, I need a new recorder, seeing as I'm using SP Type S vs Type R means nothing correct? I very much enjoy the sound quality, and I've noticed alot of older decks do not have Type R encoding. I figure I dont need a portable unit to record the disc's cause I take my NH3D with me on the road, but I need a unit purely for recording purpose's. Let me know please. I have looked at a NIB MZ S1, I figure it could do the job and be durable. I should note the N1 I got off of ebay and certainly shows some wear when I got it, not to mention the bad reputation this unit has (though thats usually associated with USB transfers) but is it my luck that my unit died, or should I expect the same out of all units being used to recorder rather constantly? Thanks alot guys I really appreciate ANY input to my situation. EDIT: Simply this is what I'm wondering •Want a cheap, Durable, Type R (or S) recorder to make SP disc's for the NH3D, doesnt need to be portable •Should I expect a similar fate from another unit used to record? •Should I even bother trying to find Type R/S? I like what I hear now but I havent heard the older codec's..

I've gone through all kinds of DAP's.. I started with a little NetMD which I used LP4 on and crammed it to the brim on 1 disc, then i tried HiMD, a 600D (boo) and it held alot for me at the time but I got tired of it and went to HDD. That was years ago. Now im back. I got a N1 which I use to record my CD's (and my friends CD's) onto SP Minidiscs, and then I play them in my NH3D (thanks again raja). Its been great, I still have an 80GB iPod which I like to keep around just because, and a iPod touch for safari and cheating at school. I keep 1 disc in the unit, 1 in the back pocket, and 2 in the backpack. I listen to music all day so 4 albums is good enough. I finally cracked open one of the 3HiMD blanks I have to record Sam's Town. Only reason I did this is because I have a bad feeling my N1's shitting the bed because no matter what disc I use, it will not record the final few tracks on the cd. So basically I'll use 1 album per disc even if it is HiMD (until I find another MDLP recorder). Less is indeed more. And it sounds better! Nothing made my D66 eggos sing like the first time I listened to a SP MD through the N1, and even better so on the NH3D! Before now I had only used LP4 on my MD's. haha.

Great guy, absolute perfect description of a NH3D. Shipping was very reasonable considering it had to go through canadian customs. Would love to do business with again when the bank permits it . Thanks alot man.

I remember seeing the price of the minidisc units compared to some other mp3 players, so i went for it. I dont think i will ever go back to MD now that I have an iPod. I do however REALLY like the look of the older sharp units. Absolutly beautiful.

i got a dell DJ, and i love podcasts, i use Ipodder, its sorta crappy how ever, its built in that as soon as any podcast is done downloading it fired up iTunes, which is tiresome, and doesnt have a option to shut off. but it downloads them ans saves them to a my Received podcasts in your docs, just import those MP3's into SS.

Time to (hopefully) say goodbuy to my MZNH600D. I think ive got a buyer. On May 11 i should be saying hello to a brand new Dell DJ30. Cant wait.

anyone ever heard of the afterburner? Its a kit for the original GBA, and it takes som installation, but what it does is illuminates the screen, like a gba SP. Why couldnt you do the same thing for a MD?
-
why ae you ridding of your iPod? the battery life? And i dont find future shops selection all that bad. You looking for a MP3 cd player?
-
MY experiance with my PSP was HORRIBLE. i think i got a lemon, left a bad taste in my mouth, so i would have to go with cold hard cash.

yea, im thinking about buying a 5 gig player. cant make up my mind. I could go with the reasonable ugly and featureless dell pocket DJ for a low price. I could go with everyone else and buy a iPod mini, they have lowerd there price and doubled the battery life, but only a 4 gig. Or i could go with a new samsung yh-820, its the most expensive of the bunch, but its got a 5 gig, color screen, built in mic, and a line in, and a bunch of equalizers, but its got the same batt life of a dell, about 8-9 hours before a re charge. But battery life isnt all that big deal, unless im going on a road trip. Or i could stick with my MZNH600D. I havnt ran outta room running on LP4, but i HATE not having a backlight. I didnt think it would bother me to much, but it drives me crazy. any opinions. and BTW here are prices(CND) Dell: $220+$15 for shipping (in this case i have to order) Apple: $250 Samsung: $300 Any opinions would be greatly appreciated..

congrats on your purchase, im hoping to get one, just so expensive for me...
