Hello matrulesok, yeah I hope you are right. Although I have been getting a great deal of help from the folk here. They're a wonderful bunch. Yep, perfect sense. It's the bit about "and stores the .oma files in a folder". I've got that happening to me. But I don't want to store a load more music files, in addition to me MP3s. Am I safe to zap the .oma's? It looks like you are. Yeah, I did. It seems ok (although I've not had the NH900 long enough to do much in the way of proper listening assessments). What I want to know is, why does SS Help say it won't work, or it's not supported, when clearly it's doing something - but what? That's what I find so confusing.

Hello folks, I am another one of the NH900 newbies - and I'm struggling a bit. I want to understand more about "How to import MP3 format music files into My Library". I have just read the following help file in Sonicstage 3.0, and I have some questions... I want to transfer my fully tagged MP3 files from PC (WinXP Pro SP2) to MD (NH900). My MP3s are encoded using EAC+Lame at VBR (not CBR). I use 44.1 kHz (that's ok) and Joint Stereo (not Stereo), and I use Foobar2000 (not WinAmp). So having read those instructions how do I deal with these issues of VBR (not CBR), Joint Stereo (not Stereo), and Foobar (not WinAmp). Is there a workaround, or can't I put my MP3s on my NH900. How do I know if I have the "SonicStage MP3 Add-on Program". Where do I get it. I guess that importing my MP3 files into the Sonicstage My Library converts them to .oma files on my HDD before they are then transferred to the NH900. I am not sure I should be grateful if you would tell me how does it all works.

Hello sulk, thanks for that - it's a good find. Here is one I came accross recently - not tried it yet, so cannot speak for it's suitability. Maybe worth a try though. MD Cover -
Yeah me too Ishiyoshi CD-->MD via Sharp's MD-MT888. To date, I have 500+MDs in SP mode exclusively. So, there you go. btw matrulesok, this is a good question and will help us new members of Team NH900. Not fully analised yet, but I think it's between ATRAC3+ 256 kbps HiSP, and ATRAC3 132 kbps LP2

So it's time to cut the cake and celebrate. Hooray!! Well Done Saz

Hello The Low Volta, thanks for dropping by, and for your words of encouragement and advice

Hello matrulesok, Hello 803cd Yeah there is a Team of new Seventy Quid NH900s roaming the forum. Believe me, this is a great place to be. I've already got a load of help from the folk here. They are wonderful. Now we all want to hack our units to increase the volume so that it drowns out the noise when travelling on buses and trains. If you know the way to do it - and I understand that there is a risk involved - then please speak slowly, coz I am not yet used to the menu structure.
-
ooopps, please accept my humble apologies my dear Saz, my situation is different to yours coz I DO have internet connection. But just to give you some encouragement - as it's your un-birthday today - I have just followed those instructions: Uninstalling all OpenMG software I could find in Add/Remove Programs, deleting directories left right and centre in Documents and Settings, and Program Files and so on. Even got into the registry. Wow . Anyway I did all that as instructed, then ran the SonicStageInstaller.exe and guess what? It Works! I DO hope things will work for you too. Excuse me now, I am just going to help myself to another bowl of jelly and ice-cream Don't forget to come and get me when you cut the cake.

understood sazmeise, come on ol' chap, I'll move aside - it's time to blow out your candles

Thank you for your post Syrius, it gives a newbie like me encouragement to have a go myself. Knowing there are folk such as you and kurisu around to help out. To use my new NH900, you'll be glad to hear that I have successfully installed both sonicstage 2.3 (I didn't use the 2.1 version that came on the CD) and simple burner 2.00.04. Not only that I got 'em to work first time. Filled a Gig himd with my favourite stuff, and tried burning a CD (The Free Story) to a standard minidisc. It worked, thanks to the guidance you give me at this forum

Hello atrain, sorry but I do not understand your words. Maybe I am a hammer, whatever that might be. Who knows? Anyway, back to My Question. Am I safe to use sonicstage or connect or whatever you want to call it, version 3.0[uS] with my recently purchased (UK) NH900 Sorry atrain, I don't mean to offend, but I am very confused with this NH900, plus all the software that goes with it, which version this, what dll that, plug this in here, different instruction for the unit and the remote (do I but another one, what's it called ELK, no here we are: RM-MC40ELK. It's all a new language I am trying to learn. Please bear with me - I've read many of your posts and I know you mean well and help a lot of folk - I'll catch up eventually, but it may take time
-
Sorry atrain, I don't understand. "you can" - what? Your link took me to Connect. Why? What's there for me? Please speak slowly, I am new to this Thank You dex Otaku
-
Hello dex Otaku, I am getting very confused with this. I understood that version 3.0 could be used on only the US/Canadian machines (not the UK/European ones). Just as 3.1 can only be used on the Japan machines. I have installed 2.3 and it looks like it works ok with my new NH900. You seem to be saying I should upgrade to 3.0 using the SonicStageInstaller.exe link. btw how can I tell what type of machine I have - US or European. In fact, is there a difference? I recently bought it as one of the £70 deals from Amazon UK (although the invoice looks like it comes from Washington), and the back of the unit says "US and Foreign patents" - and is repeated in French. Whereas the Guarantee is European!!! As regards the "Connect part of the program" I don't think I shall be interested in that downloading stuff. Maybe it doesn't matter whether the unit is US or European, and I can simply go ahead and upgrade to Sonicstage 3.0 now.

Hello newbie NH900 folk, bigtallrichb, sazmeise. Yeah me too, I have just joined Team NH900. I have just got a new NH900 in my hands. I am the same as you, a bit bewildered by it all. However, I did find this link to get SS version 2.3 for use in UK Sonicstage 2.3 for UK btw 3.1 J is out, but not for the States nor UK - Japan only.
-
Hello marcnet, I'm new to this himd mularkey, just got me nh900. I understand that your program comes highly recommended. Um I should be grateful if you would tell me what it does for me
-
Me too matrulesok, just got mine. Gotta sit down now and learn how to use it. And I too have a Sharp (MT888) so this sony machine is rather different.
-
Who's a lucky boy then What a result!!!
-
When SS v3.1 (we haven't even got version 3.0 yet ) eventually arrives in the UK, will I be able to use 3.1 with my NH900
-
I've put all of mine in a safe place. Trouble is I cannot remember which safe place I put them in
