  1. EH? my SS 3.1 doesnt read VBR full stop, they're econded at 192K VBR...strange... FLAC and Ogg RULE Mp4 kicks ass
  2. something tells me that the gold ipod minis didn't sell well, thats y they pulled the gold minis out....hmm....
  3. 5 bucks and 10 bucks, prices vary in metro melb. Newayz i was basing it on a n economical perspective *i was making use of my knowledge cos im doing economics units 3/4* Neway, hu on earth calls a MD Kawaii? MDs are not female, nor are they cute, they play music and store files and record. so how could u call a MD Kawaii? Oh yeah, i remember that sanity music store @ tulamarine airport use to sell pre-recorded MDs but some how stopped it after a few years... Are pre-recordeds really that popular, guess they didn't sell too well...
  4. i don't think u wanna b cutting up headphones and re-soldering it back. Its not the best thing to do... Just face it, Sony are the only ones hu make shortcord headphones
  5. Meh! get something else. Gets some grados or sennheisers, something more mainstream. But those ATHs are a bit over the top e.g. it has a frequency range of OMFG: its 10-45,000 Hz. like hu the hell has ears that listen beyong 20-22,000hz or 20-20,000hz (pls correct me on this one, i noe its one of the two figures)? MEH! i'm happy with my MDRE-888s cos they have a frequency range od 8-27,000 and have a resonable sized driver 16mm compared to the 15.5. I've never tried ATHs b4, but they look bloody expensive and silly MEH! get whatever floats-ur-boat rich person. Note: 45,000hz is a bit over the top or should i say its WAY!!! over the top
  6. true many PC's, but my desktop and laptop have firewire...only bought in 2004...but apart from that, the smartest thing would have been to get a usb 2.0 and firewire ext hdd. newayz, have fun recording all the music
  7. hahaha...the noob is joking right?
  8. hmmm....very strange indeed. If only my stupid MD had asian support
  9. thats true, my sister is an audiologist and she really hates cotton-buds. Yes, i also now do too cos its blocked one of my ears and is now cleared due to leaving it alone. Yeah, i wouldn't bother cleaning my lens, what makes u wanna clean the lens neway kanu?
  10. HAHAHA, u'll never find shortcord headphones made by ne other company other than Sony! Thats the truth
  11. B&O ear-phones range is really mediocre(50hz - 20,000Hz) so i would recommend the ATHs. B&O is not value for money! But make bloody nice speakers
  12. thats one nice MD player gone... *sniffle*
  13. You ppl need to think about the costs it takes to make this stuff First of all a Hi-MD is worth 10 bucks AUD while a CD is worth almost 15 cents AUD. It costs money to make it first of all. THen it costs money to record it, then package it in a Hi-MD case that is not widely made. Ship it off to a store, the store jacks the price up then u buy it. CAN U IMAGINE THE PRICE, cos it'll probably b huge. Neway, how accurately can u record an album on 1gb discs. The industry probably has to come up with some new encoding to make it hit atleast 970mb to get their money's worth. KEEP DREAMING! But it would be nice...
  14. I agree www.minidisc.com.au is good. O yeah, icie, Go Audio Visual (melbourne central mall) is now open i checked it today, a friend told me that its been open for about 1 or 2 days now. Im pretty sure they have plenty of stock, so why not pop down to melb for some Hi-MDs. Also JB-Hi-fi bourke street and elizabeth street have stock. So what are u goin' on about????? I still want 2G Hi-MD regardless! Join the rebellion against the sea of white headphones
  15. Wouldn't it be common sense, that asians would prefer to have their own language to read.Just like how my Hi-MD can't exactly do it either. But i realised my old 710 is capable of displaying chinese and japanese characters. Strange isn't it?
  16. cotton buds are bad 4 ur ears, never stick them in (cos i currently have a blocked right ear due to cotton buds), i'd think that u would require something more delicate to clean the lense. Yes maybe lens solution and a cotton bud may do it... *pls don't blame me for nething*
  17. Polari is a good conversion. I didn't need to buy an iPod to learn that they were bad. I commend Polari on his/hers effort
  18. WEll i did my research b4 buying. I realised that the Hi-MD was the way to go. High capacity, skies the limit, cos u can get as many discs as u want!. HD Amp - help saves battery life. Its a reasonable size. Yes as mentioned above, high spining parts in a HDD (hard drive) based mp3 player is not good if u end up dropping it. But sony's new mp3 players have a tech that stops it spining as soon as it sense a force or something. THE BIGGEST REASON OF WHY NOT TO BUY A HDD based mp3 player is the lack of battery support. Play with it for say...2 1/2 years and then bubbye. Whilst my sisters have had they're type-r md players since 99' and work fyn with teh new gumstick batteries u can buy unlike HDD based mp3 players u have to go back to the company to get it replaced and it'll cost u HEAPS OF MONEY! oh yeah, the battery life on a HDD based Mp3 player is bad! Stick with Hi-MD! Hope u chose well!
  19. get a decent MD player like a RH10. Cos Psyc is just catered for sporty ppl and it doesnt look all that good if ur using it for normal use. Net-MD is so useless after i switched to Hi-MD. ATRAC3PLUS mp3 cd player is really good cos u can jam heapz of songs onto it. Oh wellz, i reckon u should save up extra money to get at least a Hi-MD. Wellz it up to u... Hope u make a good choice *Yipee, i got jolin's new album - j-game. It rules!*
  20. yeah, b4 i ever got a MD back in 2002 i bargained my way to a CD player there hehehe. Some dudes there noe some stuff, but i can't say too much about the other guys. Newayz, i picked up a pack of 5 Hi-MDs for $AUD25 durring their rennovation sale, could u do that? I like it cos they're competitively priced against JB and u can bargain with them depending on the staff
  21. everyone has different tastes. and not every is as rich as u blazer78 kekeke besides the fact, does ne1 noe an official date wen 2G Hi-MD will arrive in Aus?
  22. I've got a friend hu got a iRiver H10 (5gb, colour screen, FM and other cool stuff), iRiver normally supplies Sennheisers, my best guess is that they're MX series ear-phones, i find that they do a reasonable job. If ur budget concious then get em'. But if u want quality, do what i did, get some MDRE-888s
  23. MEh! thats y ur meant to do ur research b4 u buy ur electronics.
  24. Metal shutters in the good ol' floppy discs were hell! so i guess i shouldn't b putting ne generic discs in my MZ-NH900. Im sticking with Sony discs ;p Oh yeah, b kind to u md, press stop and WAIT for it to TURN OFF! then eject the disc. I noe i few dickheads hu have fucked up their mds by ejecting the discs immediately without stoping the unit and the metal shutter got caught inside and that was bubbye! So b kind and do the right thing and just hope ur Maxell discs don't get caught inside Hope it gets fixed mate! ;p Moral: Be kind to your MD, and it'll b kind back to you. (im not implying that u 'ghostdog' haven't been kind). Its something everybody should know
  25. Cool, I got a mic. bundled with my Hi-MD, its pretty good. Yeah gotta admit the supplied ear-phones are mediocre so get some new 'phones to experience the real quality of the Hi-MD Have fun!
