  1. Meh! My 'local' sonystore is on the other side of the town in chapel street as some of u melbournians would noe. Newayz i heard that the place called 'Go AudioVisual' @ Melbourne Central Shopping Mall is a certified sony retailer also they're going on about being some Sony World store or something? Sounds interesting, i picked up my Hi-MD at JB Hi-fi, not at the Sonystore. But fair enough! Nice stories guys
  2. I am, with my MDRE-888s and MZ-NH900, they are the most deadly mix! it absolutely killed the ipods that my friends had in terms of sound quality! lets just hope that 2G Hi-MD will come as mentioned with the pulling of the 1 and 800 off the siteb good news. Very interesting For now i'm gonna focus on gettin' some senn. PX100s MD's R.U.L.E!
  3. MEH! probably the same prices here in melb! Im just hanging for headphones atm, but it would be nice to see more Hi-MD units hanging in melb, cos the ppl on the trams give u a strange look if u wip out ur MD to change tracks on change disc. Its like a : 'aren'tu part of the white ear-phone army (ipod)?' look. It pisses me off! I WANT 2nD GEN Hi-MD!
  4. Real Audio? i barely use that stuff. I ever use it when checking out nba.com I want some quality improvement with SS not with other programs, cos that'll make it non-sony if there were to b heaps of drivers for other programs for transfering. If so, then hurry and make one for iTunes!
  5. With Apple and Sony in harmony, could we see faster transfer rates with our MDs? Such as Firewire 400 or even 800? But i think the speed in which the MD spins at is a limiting factor. SO, could we be seeing Sonyappleson (n. So-nee-yap-pul-sun)? Theres a few tips and tricks each company could learn from each other E.g. Sony adapts loseless and Apple finally gets removable batteries!
  6. Haven't seen a 910 in oz yet, but my 900 kicks ass!
  7. visited minidisc.com.au, one thing, i don't really like buying things over the internet with a credit card.
  8. I own a pair of Sony MDR-E888LPs. Its true that the quality is good, also due to its slightly bigger diaphram, u can get some more bass out of it. Apart from that i might b getting some PX100s . They're bloody fantastic (Sennheiser PX100s) cos they are so bassy have a good frequency range, which makes them one of the better all round portable headphones. PX100s rule! kekeke
  9. WTF? English please? I'm tech savy, but WTF? i don't understand what they mean! Heres what i mean THe english version: We report on a new atomic force microscope (AFM)-based data storage concept called the “Millipede” that has a potentially ultrahigh density, terabit capacity, small form factor, and high data rate. Its potential for ultrahigh storage density has been demonstrated by a new thermomechanical local-probe technique to store and read back data in very thin polymer films. With this new technique, 3040-nm-sized bit indentations of similar pitch size have been made by a single cantilever/tip in a thin (50-nm) polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) layer, resulting in a data storage density of 400500 Gb/in.2 High data rates are achieved by parallel operation of large two-dimensional (2D) AFM arrays that have been batch-fabricated by silicon surface-micromachining techniques. The very large scale integration (VLSI) of micro/nanomechanical devices (cantilevers/tips) on a single chip leads to the largest and densest 2D array of 32 x 32 (1024) AFM cantilevers with integrated write/read storage functionality ever built. Time-multiplexed electronics control the write/read storage cycles for parallel operation of theMillipede array chip. Initial areal densities of 100200 Gb/in.2 have been achieved with the 32 × 32 array chip, which has potential for further improvements. In addition to data storage in polymers or other media, and not excluding magnetics, we envision areas in nanoscale science and technology such as lithography, high-speed/large-scale imaging, molecular and atomic manipulation, and many others in which Millipede may open up new perspectives and opportunities. Words? thermomechanical local-probe AFM cantilevers ????????????????????????????????
  10. Coach Carter - The acting was terrible, but the game scenes were good.

    How About Psp?

Man, theres no PSP in Oz yet But I'm getting it regardless, and really waiting for GT4 (Gran Turismo 4) to come out on it. Yes I've heard of some dead pixel stories. Heard there was gonna b a samsung screen on the revision, and heard that the jap version has a sharp screen which is better. But for now you PSP junkies Heres a pic of the PSP developer's kit (if you haven't seen it yet): http://www.psp-vault.com/Article82.psp
  12. Get an iRiver H10: best FM radio reception , does almost everything an iPod Mini can't do! My friend has one and i've grown attached to it even though its not mine Iriver rocks, cos it has SRS WOW support for all those nice sennheiser headphones GET AN IRIVER, u wont regret it Oh yeah Samsung does have SRS support as far as im concerned

  14. I hope 2G Hi-MDs come, cos i really want one! They're so cool! One thing, they better sell better if they come! A reason behind why Hi-MDs did not sell too well in oz is cos: -Aussie minds are simple -We like pretty things like Apple iPods -We don't do our research when it comes to electronics. We let ACA or 'Today Tonight' to do it. *Current affair programs* -We're easily brainwashed by Americans E.g. *once again* Apple I'm sitting on the edge of my seat with my fingers crossed that 2G hi-mds will come *SONY PLEASE DON'T LET ME FALL OFF MY SEAT!*
  15. You do realise that the disc still spins in the MD player as it is paused. Its the same as play function without the sound coming through ***Oh yeah, i friend told me that the battery case (black thing u put AA batteries in) is like a portable charger to ur battery (the NiMH also known as the bubblegum battery a.k.a gumstick battery) (The low down: AA charges NiMH battery, player gets power from NiMH battery), its the not the best thing to do cos its just a diversion if u leave ur battery in there! I think its best to use the attachable battery case, without the NiMH in, it'll save ur NiHM's life * i hope* *** *recording is fun!*
  16. Who the hell uses Simple Burner neway? I find it useless
  17. What a shame...We're too stupid, we all like SHITPODS (a.k.a iPod). Quote from a friend "Ooo, its so cute and its pink". She has no idea how shit they are in-comparrison to MD's. Also due to the fact that we like our 'doof doof' music. WE NEED MEGABASS BACK SONY! I WANT MEGABASS BACK! *If only 2G Hi-MD was coming .. *
  18. Yipee, a cool Hi-MD, now they need to produce them in all different colours to be really cool!
  19. yeah my 1350mah does my fyn, gives me extra hours. I'm not complaining *im a MZ-NH900 user* Oh yeah, did it ever occur to you that AA batteries are bigger in size *duh* But then the AA squashed flat may also b the same size as the gumstick Dunno...
  20. I like the orange yellow one: http://www.minidisc.org/images/Sony_MZRH10_02.jpg *have no idea if the mz-rh10 has come to oz yet*
  21. Would be crazy, but defeats the purpose of having multiple discs but i wouldn't mind, never to think about having to purchase another disc again. Plus, it kicks ipod-ass bad!
  22. Currently in my MZ-NH900 is: A compilation of 12/2004 till now (various) -98 songs in total Mario Winan - Hurt no more (album) Garbage - Beautiful Garbage (album) Garbage - Bleed Like Me (album) Jolin Tsai - Castle (ablum) Twins - Happy together, Magic & Girl power (albums) Eason Chan - various mix Thats about it! On one Hi-MD disc with 5.7 megabyte left Theres all these really nice classical tracks u other peepz listen to. Am i missing out or something?
  23. I just hope Sony makes SS less resource hungry, it uses too many resources (does ne1 agree?).
