Am I the only one who likes sonicstage? I've used itunes, and I like sonicstage more...
-
It was nothing, I was just cleaning my earphones with alcohol and I didn't let them dry enough so one of them sounded very very low volume, so I got a bit scared that I did some permanent damage. After a few minutes under the hair dryer the problem was fixed though.
-
Nvm I fixed it! (Admin- please remove thread, thanks!)
-
Thanks Ishiyoshi, that fixed it, and everything looks nice and smooth now .

Hmmm.. After making some mistake in the xml files i tried reinstalling sonicstage and still, it just starts up and closes after the loading screen. If someone could zip all their xml folder (preferrably after applying the cleartype hacks) and post it, I would be really grateful.
-
Could someone post a zip file with all te xml files edited? [i think I made a mistake while editing one of the files, and I hadn't thought of backing up before, so I'm reinstalling now.]
-
Has anyone tried tinkering with this, or know what the best place to start within /XML would be?

It's been a while since I started this thread... is sony considering this at all?
-
I think we should petition for sony to make the new connect builds compatible with the old walkmans (nw-exxx) and nw-hdx ... I know it is not hard, and would make the current fan base happy so that they would buy walkman again in the future. Who will create a vote??

I don't understand why people are making such a big deal out of this. Background noise happens in ALL devices, this is because the sensitivity of the earphones does not match the frequency range of the player, it is a very normal phenomenon in these sorts of devices.
-
I noticed this, not with the EX51 since I've never tried them, but any other earphone I plug into my device, they sound way quieter than the stock earphones that come with the player.

About volume, canal phones will be much louder because they are closer to your ear drum and they isolate outside noise. So, bass will be more powerful, everything will sound clearer and louder in general.
-
Hmm.. interesting. Try formatting it through the function menu, then make sure you have the latest firmware for the device, then try transferring the tracks again using connect and see what happens. Also, make sure you are using the latest version of connect, I belive a new patch came out recently. Let us know if it works.

I think this would only change the time it takes to reach full charge, not affect the amount of change going into the battery. The problem could be that the battery has not been well conditioned, is working in extreme temperatures, or something is faulty with the hardware.
-
That's weird... if you search the Ti version on ebay they cost $150+, but if you search the non-Ti version, they cost ~$1... Huge price difference.

I know there probably isn't some sort of hack to enable ClearType fonts in sonicstage, but would it be possible for Sony to write a small patch for sonicstage that would enable this feature? I would really like this feature to be added to sonicstage, and it doesn't seem to be something major, is this too much to ask? Who is with me?
-
When I first got my player, I did a 3 full charge/discharge cycles to condition it. You should do this when you first start using it, and also do a full charge/discharge every month or so to reset the battery meter, which naturally becomes less accurate as you keep doing small recharges.
-
I would really like it if they updated the firmware so that the information display screen would look just like the A6xx series, since IMO it is way more efficient. For instance, the number of tracks does not cut into the artist name, etc...
-
I decided against opening it up, since unscrewing it might make the screws looser after I put it back together. Also, I don't want to scratch the inside or make it worse than it already is.
-
I'm not worried about doing anything wrong, it would just be cool for the program to count how many times you played songs and then you could gather up the songs that you've played the most and make a playlist from them.
-
I had not noticed this feature previously, but I found a feature in sonicstage that shows the number of times a track has been played. However, I noticed that it only counts the number of times a track has been played in sonicstage, and not in the player. Is this because I have not enabled something or is it because the older models do not support this feature?

I found #5 to be a bit annoying too, here is a site with tips on how to maximize the life of lithium-ion batteries: http://www.batterygeek.net/lithium-ionbatterypacks2.htm Regarding transfer, I am not 100% sure if it is USB2.0 or 1.1, but one of the big reasons the transfer might be slow is that the software encodes the file with a certain copyright protection when you transfer it. Also, post some pics if you have the chance, and give us some of your impressions concerning the player in general.
