  1. Yes it is Possible!!! I make it with my DH10P unit! Just add the cover picture (scanned from the original) in sonicstage' library to the album proprety before transferring to the md . Album is necessary because DH-10p need folder to associate to a cover.
  2. Actually 1kyle pretends he successfully boot from himd (look his posts above). but I don' t understand how he could make Nero make a boot usb disc not a boot CD If you can give us more information , 1kyle, it would be great. thanks again
  3. I have the same question for you 1kyle. Can you give more explanation ? than you.
  4. do not agree. I've made several test with MXD-D4 CD/MD deck : 1x speed dubbings of CD (in sp atrac type r) are deeper spacialized and more transparent than 4x speed dubbings . The difference isn't very important but obvious.
  5. wish list for 3rd gen: 1- Direct playback for wma lossless on the unit 2- Car unit 3- Sony ES class deck 4- Real digital still camera/ camcorder with real flash light , 3Mpixels, MPEG2/MPEG4 video recording (0.5 MB/s allows SQ standard quality MPEG2 used by Sony mini DVDR camcorder: 40 min/1.4GB = 30min/1GB) 5- 4.7 GB capacity using DVD (or MDview alias DATA2) laser frequency
  6. SonicStage 3.3 is not so bad anymore, and not buggy in my experience. It allows unlimited downloads and unlimited uploads with material recorded directly on the unit. Only mzr-m100 model is compatible with Mac (for upload of Pcm analog records only)
  7. has anyone make a test at 352K with "castagnet" and other files which 256k was failing ?
  8. D) losless WMA (or AAL) direct playback on the units. Or do you think 352k reaches pcm quality with all types of music ?
  9. To my (long) experience Sony and TDK are the best: never lost any information with them and their resistance to heat is excellent, especially with car units. (not like Hispace or Emtec)
  10. Finally, I've tested 352kbps recording time: 100 min on 80min md. It's less than what I have calculated (see my post above)? Does anyone know why?
  11. Has anyone calculated how long 352kbps recording on standard 80min md ? pcm(1411kbps) = 28 min 1400/352 = 3.98 so atrac(352kbps) = 3.98 x 28 = 111 min[ (didn't test effective) or : 291MB = 291000 x 8 = 2328000 kb so atrac(352kbps) = 2328000/352/60= 110 min At this point I have recalculated recording time for Hi-LP and Hi-SP and here is what I found: Hi-Lp ( 64 kbps) = 1400/64x28 = 613 min = 10 h 13 min (effective 10h15min) or : Hi-Lp ( 64 kbps) = 2328000/64/60 = 606 min = 10 h 6 min Hi-Sp (256 kbps) = 1400/256x28 = 153 min = 2 h 33 min (effective 2h23min) or : Hi-Lp ( 64 kbps) = 2328000/256/60 = 152 min = 2 h 32 min My calculation for Hi-Lp is around effective time recording, but It lacks 10 min in Hi-Sp mode! Can anyone tell me if I made an error ?
  12. lossy wma ok, but wma lossless is more efficient than atrac lossless (saves more space)
  13. 352kbps is playable on my NH-9OO, RH-10 and Onkyo MD105FX deck! Very strange that 320kbps is not????!!! If true lossless was playable , it would be perfect...voodoo??
  14. Thank you richyhu. This is a bit dissapointing, because with SS3.2, I can import in my library wma lossless tracks but have to convert them to lossy atrac3+ before transfering to MD (no pcm available). Is atrac lossless saving more space that wma lossless? (with wma lossless saved as data on Himd you can burn directly from MD a pcm CD audio using Windows media Player 10)
  15. Sorry if I'm stupid, but I don't understand nothing! Is atrac 352kbits a real lossless format ( just like wma lossless or flac)? And can it be played without any conversion to lossy atrac on the current Himd units?
  16. It would be so simple and no expensive for Sony to make a Himd car unit based upon one of the old md units: they don't need to change amplifier's electronic nor design!
  17. hmm... very strange. When I plug my NH900 with pictures on the disc , into the USB input of a photo-revelation automat (like KODAK), it works fine and print any picture I want...
  18. If it plays wma, surely it plays wma lossless. where did you look these unit? Can you give us some reference/link?
  19. very interesting ATELETRONICS! Does it mean that the car stereo will drive your Himd just like a computer ? If so , you can overpass the digital amplifier of the Himd (which is not excellent to my ears) If the car stereo can decode WMA lossless: 3 hours of PCM quality on one 1GB himd!
  20. Thanks for your answer Richyhu. I live in France and you in Netherland. Do you think Sony will finally make an european version of AH10? If not I'll probably buy a Onkyo.
  21. Onkyo web page says this unit has a word wide FM 76-108 MHz frequency range. It's a very good point! Is anyboby knows if Sony cmt-AH10 Himd bookshelf unit has got the same feature?
  22. Actually, I bought Onkyo MD-FX105 HIMD deck at Audiocubes 2 weeks ago . It was shipped in 5 working days , with free 240/100V current converter (I live In France) . Not any Problem!
  23. No! you just take another disc! that's the advantage of Md!
