Does anybody know how to force Sonicstage 4.3 automatically to uppercase letters with the TRACKNAMES in " my library" (Not Only The First Letter Of Each Word), after importing CD with Gracenote ? Onkyo decks doesn't display correctly some caracter like french " è "; "é ";"à "etc... And I find caps are easilier readable ... Perhaps Ishiyoshi will know?

Recieved the two units today! Black is nice (only silver was available in France) it is very light (the same that RH1) and sounds good with sony mdr-cd3000 headphones! Of course no microphone input, but with a pre-amplified microphone through the line input, it will be great!

Yes it does !! in disc->disc mode at 4x speed! I've tested it with my mds-W1 : you can make 100 generation copy of the same track without any degradation.(because only digital files are copied without reencoding)

Sony's stategy is really incredible: they have spent money in R&D with himd and donot implement it in that new bookshelf !

Yes but: CD and MD are both 780 nm wavelength "red-ray" laser DVD is 660 nm wavelengh "red-ray" laser (and 1 DVD = 6 CD in term of capacity) Blue-ray uses shorter wavelength laser ( 330nm?) so the colour is blue. Combination of optomagnetical and DVD wavelenght should increase MD capacity (x6) , and with blue-ray laser would increase a lot!

Anyone can copy Sonymusic CD's . I suppose some of us would be happy to buy prerecorded himd from Sonymusic ...

IT does, I've tested it. SP is automatically converted to HISP or PCM (openmg) and can additively be converted to wav. Unfortunately prerecoded cannot be listen through the computer, and SP not be saved on the computer without converting...

Since himd doesn't have any upload/dowload DRM anymore (SS 3.4 and above is drag and drop -like), and 7H55 256kbps hisp for live recording (for studio quality recording, you have 94 min PCM) is more than enough + the benefits of a removable media you can give/exchange (and play on real HIFI -Onkyo!- decks) , I don't see the necessity for a "himd replacement"...

I have noticed the same The quality of the analog electronic components is the explanation, I think As you play the same disc on the two units, the encodig codec has nothing to do with this issue. A MDS JA 20 ES-based himd deck would certainly sound as good than the classic 20ES with old sp md, and better with hisp and PCM.

Is it possible to upload prerecorded with RH1?
