Even if you don't record, go for it. I have a MZ-NH600D which doesn't have any audio inputs (only usb), so its a player and downloader only, and I love the fact that I have removable media and really long battery life.
-
Really? Damn, he's gonna be upset. Thanks anyway.

I was talking to my friend online amount the remote I'm getting for my 600D and he thinks it sounds cool, especially the backlight. I told him I would find out what remote and if a remote is compatible with the MZ-NE410 (his player). So does the MZ-NE410 have a remote jack? He wants to get either the 33EL or 40ELK, I know the 33EL works fine with NetMDs, but does the 40ELK?

Everytime I get foam phones I rip off the padding, can't stand that foam. But I really can't go after anything else anyway. I just can't deal with myself wasting money on the px200's. Looks like I'm screwed. Edit- Well I found a solution. The PX200's are very adjustable, and I adjusted them so they aren't actually leaning on my ear, there off my ear, keeping air on them which prevents them from heating up. Thanks to everyone for your replies.

What padding does the px100 use? Is it that fuzzy stuff? Anything that I can't even put a finger on. Edit-nevermind, I'm not allowed to get new headphones. This sucks, now I'm stuck with these px 200's that I can't even get through a song with.
-
Buds and canals are the same thing in my book. Both extremely uncomfortable.
-
I own the px200's. They sound great and limit sound from around you. But I have to admit, I very disappointed with them. My ears over-heat after only one song.
-
By in ear do you mean ear buds? If so I can't stand those, always falling out. My old headphones that I replaced with the px 200, were in ear headphones with the ear bud shape, but they went over your head so they wouldn't fall out. But they are some of the most painful headphones around. I really, really don't want to spend many on new headphones but it looks like I may have too. If that is the case, what ones can you wear for hours straight without your ears from overheating? I thought the leatherette headphones were the key, and I was wrong with the px 200. I have to get it right the 2nd time around. I think my best bet is real leather, not leatherette.
-
So there is absolutely nothing I can do? This is driving me crazy.

I bought a pair of px 200's off amazon for 40 bucks because I thought the leatherette would reduce sweating. My ears actually get hotter even quicker with these than with my old headphones. I can't even make it through one song without taking them off. I'm actually starting to use the one's that came off my md player, I pealed off the cups on them so they stay colder longer, but slide off easily and aren't at all comfortable. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep ears from heating up? How do you guys make it?

I just bought it. I'm finally done with all these remote threads, lol. Thanks to everyone for helping me out. I will now wait for my 40ELK (which I won't actually be allowed to open until xmas).
-
Looks like I might be springing for the 40ELK after all. Where is the cheapest place I can find it? Sony DAPC has it for $65. Anyone know a place that sells it for less? (no ebay, and please don't ask why, I've been through it time and time again)

Is there a search function on either of these remotes? On the 600D I can go into search mode to search by track (in ABC order) and search by artist. And I can only go through 1 or 10 tracks at a time? And when I am looking for other tracks, do they start playing immediately, or is there a way to "browse" like on hte 600D itself?

I was just reading over the descriptions on audiocubes.com of the 35elk remote and came across this: "Ultra-cool animations in 14 varieties" I thought I was decided on the 33el but this has me second guessing my decision. What are these animations for and are there any on the 33el? And before I forget I have another question. On either of these 2 remotes, if I want to listen to a certain song (out of currently 244 on my 1gb disc) how would I go about finding it? Would I have to keep hitting a single button or is there some time of jog dial?
-
Cool looks like I'm getting the 33el. No need for kanji support and I can live with a smaller resolution. Thanks.

Ok, I'm almost ready to take the plunge finally by a remote. I'm gonna by off minidisco or audiocubes (haven't decided yet) and I need to know. Why is the MC35ELK priced 10 bucks higher than the MC33EL? What advantages does the 35elk have over 33el? All replies appreciated. This will be my last remote thread, I will be buying one of these 2.

The DH710 is fine is you plan on only recording through the usb port on your computer. If you want to record with line in or mic the dh710 won't cut it because it doesn't have mic or line in ports. The RH710 is cheap and has line in. The RH910 has both the mic and line in. If you really want to go with the cheapest possible look for an NH700, has mic in and line in and can be had for probably 140 bucks. If you don't need mic in but do need line in, go for an nh600 (not nh600d unless you are only using the usb port) which is the cheapest hi-md on the market.

My parents do not trust ebay at all, I got into an arugment with them today, they said there is absolutely no way they will buy off ebay. I need an actual store, forget price. Just tell me where I can buy either a RM-MC35elk, RM-MC33el, or RM-MC40elk at the cheapest possible price. My parents are pretty pissed that they can't just walk into any electronic store and a minidisc remote, they don't believe me when I told them its impossible.
-
Is there atleast a backlit remote out there from a store for like 30 bucks that can control all the functions of the 600D?
-
I don't trust ebay or anyone that sells things there. I have only made 3 purchases there, and got ripped off everytime. I don't want something used either.
-
I'm looking to buy an RM-MC35ELK. But my max price is about 25 bucks. Does anyone know a good online store that sells them? (No Ebay)
-
Darn, I thought that was only for the 40ELK. Okay which remote from that sony dapc site is the 35elk?
-
Actaully I was looking for a walk in store, not online stores.
-
Actually, its the RH910, not NH910.
-
You can probably pick up a RM-MC35ELK for under 20 bucks on ebay. I'm gonna be buying one soon, it looks pretty sweet. Full description here: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_RM-MC35ELK.html. And according to everyone here, the RM-MC40ELK is by far the best remote for hi-md because of its 3 line display and jog dial, but they are a little more expensive, probably around 50 bucks on ebay.
