    NW-S700 service mode

    thanks, AntiPod!
  3. Audio Technica 9Styles ATH-CK6 review. Price:$68 at Domayne Contents: carry pouch, S/M/L tips, 3 kinds of loops. Introduction: Audio Technica ATH-CK6 "9Styles" is a in-ear earphone which uses a aluminium housing for anti-vibration and better sound quality-a bit like MDR-EX90. Design and features These are known as 9Styles-because you can change the wearing style by putting on a different "loop". The design of the earphones itself is minimalist-no Sony style angled design, just the familar IEM style. The earpieces features a aluminium housing for anti-vibration and improved sound. Mine are in blue. I really enjoyed trying out different style combinations-depending on how I want to wear these. The tips are easily put on and are supersoft-very nice! The loops are attached to the end of the earpiece and are easily removed and changed. These are: *earbud style (round) *small loop style *large loop style A carry pouch is supplied-it is made of a nice material. Cord plug is straight shaped. Sound quality: Sound quality is very beautiful:nicely balanced highs, mids and lows and just the right amount of bass, better than Sony's MDR-EX85. Using this with a NWZ-A815, I found the EQ set to custom 1 and VPT off to be the best settings for the ATH-CX6. With a S705 and ATRAC encoded music, it was supremely good with Rolling Stones tracks-nicely balanced and at the right volume (maxed but not so lid as to cause to hearing loss). Listened to Michael Jackson and The Beatles-the sound reproduced was supreme in quality and clarity. Overall: I was extremely impressed by Audio Technica ATH-CK6 "9Styles" because these are well built in-ear headphones with 9 different ways of wearing them. I give these:10/10. 4. No, it does bnot but you may like to try MDR-NC22 which are noise canceling EX style earphones.
  5. My name is Anthony and I'm a Sony fan-own a Bravia, 2 PlayStations, and various audio products.
  6. CMT-EH15 Price Paid: $99 Purchase at: Target Review Sony Australia's RRP for this micro hi-fi is $129, got it for $99 at Target when it was part of a sale. It's sold in Canada, here in Australia,India and in Europe, India, but not in the United States. It's a 2008 model, with updated styling compared to the CMT-EH10. Matches my Brvia-it's also black and silver trim. The main unit with speakers are attractively finished in black and silver and is light-the whole hi-fi weighs less than 7kgs (that's also hpw much the shipping box weighs). Setup is fuss-free-connect the speaker wires, plug the CD deck receiver (HCD-EH15) into a wall socket, and turn it on. Took me about 2-3 minutes to set the clock and preset tuner stations. The controls are on the front, as well as being selected via a small and light remote. Has a audio-in jack for playing music from MP3 players with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable-you still operate the player manually to change change tracks. Also has DSGX(Sony's term for bass boost), and a 4 preset EQ:flat, jazz, pop and rock. The SQ is wonderful-with powerful sounding speakers, impressive considering it's only rated at 10W RMS. Pro Sound Quality-great full-range speakers, lots of bass Easy to play music from Walkman or other MP3 players using the audio-in jack Lightweight Attractive and modern styling Single cassette deck Cons Only sold in Canada,Australia, Asia, India and Europe

    New Sony DAPs?

There's also NWZ-B130 series: http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/15/sonys-n...ts-way-to-asia/ NWZ-E has limited EQ-no Clear Stereo, Clear Bass or DSEE it seems.
  8. Looks a bit like the NWD-E020 series, but without a style-up panel. What model are the earphones?

    NWZ-B135

Seems to come in colors-and 2GB models. Auto-transfer software is missing from the B130 series. No service manual for this player yet.
  11. $99 for a S705F in Australa-Myer (myer.com.au) are clearing the 2GB models in black or viloet out. Got one and am very impressed with it. Sony doesn't sell the S710 series (with NC) at all in Australia

    NW-S700 service mode

How do I enter service mode on a NW-S705?
  13. price paid-$99 at Myer (Myer.com.au) Price (when new in 2006)-$400 (Sony Australia's rrp) Color:violet Included in the box is player MDR-NC022 (propriety variant of MDR-NC22),S,L eartips, extension cord, cradle insert, SonicStage 4.1. Tested on: Mac mini for charging & Vista SP1 for transferring songs Features: jacket search, noise canceling, VPT & Clear Bass/stereo (former is limited in options compared to newer Walkman models), FM radio. Optional accessories: optional cable for recording from the device, bluetooth adaptor, cradle Overview: This is a 2006 Walkman, so SonicStage is used for transferring songs to pre-late 2007 Walkmans, slow but generally easy to navigate and use. As with many Sony and DAP's today, there are several preloaded songs. Design: Display Bright OLED display with jacket display (album cover art, basically). the player: Is surrounded by a metal border trim,a plastic surface covering the display srea and the bottom with a smooth surface, where the hold and sound mode buttons are located. A display/home button is on one of the sides. Menus & music features: Menu system is similar to Sony B100 or S200 series. Playing music & playback modes I like the ability to play only the recently transferred tracks and a "favorite 100" built-in playlist. A interesting shuffle mode is called "intelligent shuffle" (same is present on A700/A800/S610 series). Artist link shuffle is another mode:what it does is ramdonly selects a artist, then it looks for songs in a similar genere to the artist. As with the A720/A820/A810/A800/S610 series, a Time Machine shuffling mode is present (random selection of year and begins o play a song from the year it chose). Also a sports shuffle-basically a music timer is present. Other FM presetting is rapid-and the tuner is quite good at picking up stations even when not outside. Navigation Controls for next/previous is via a shuttle/jog dial (similar to S200 series), volume/play & stop button is on the face of the player . Connectivity Charging using the WM-PORT cable lets you charge for 3 mins, and you get 3hrs playback, it's also used for syncing. Battery Battery is rated for 50hrs playback. Noise Cancelling & SQ Noise Cancelling earphones-the MDR-NC022 are supplied which use a custom connection-a small prong & 3.5mm jack) to the S705F, one caveat: try using these on another player, won't properly fit due to the connection design. These are EX monitor headphones-which are my favorite earphones and you can use the tips on other earphones too. Unsual design-angled earpiece and large surrounding driver. It's activated via selecting the "NC" icon in the main menu, works with music and radio. As it can be controlled via the advanced settings menu, you can change how sensitive the NC is, depending on the environment. Custom EQ-2 editable, 5 band with an additional Sony's "CLEAR BASS" sound tech option. SQ-supreme sound, virtually distortion free. Listened to Rolling Stones songs-extreme clarity with beautiful sound across all ranges. Other: A NW-E series sillicone case is used with the NW-S705F-it will just fit, all controls can be used. Overall: For a Noise Canceling player, it's worth tracking down a NW-S705F. You'll be impressed with the lovely sound quality and design. Photo:

    2007 PCDP?

Not going to happen-all currently sold models are at least from 2006. Sony hasn't released anything newer than D-NE240/340 series (late 2006).
  15. There hasn't been a newer CD Walkman series in over year-the still current ones are from 2006. My guess, is that they've reached a point in thinness, hat if it were to get any thinner, Sony would have to overhaul the optical pickup designs.

    NW-A808 volume

My A800 series player only goes upto 30, yet mine was purchased in Australia.
  17. S203 was still to be found in Australia-a 2006 model. Later this year maybe we'll see a NWD-B110 series, perhaps and then by January, A620/A730/A830.
  18. What's the difference betwen the ED21 and the newer ED12?
  19. Saw some new headphones-that looks a lot like Walkman open-air headphones from the 80's. SRS would be a great addition to the next Walkmans-likely to be called the S620/A730/A830 series
  20. MP3FM is only for the NW-E100 series. It's a NW- SS only model. not a NWD- (drag and drop).

    SS and Vista

SS4.3 works well under Vista SP1-I've haven't had trouvles since updating to SP1.
  22. Service manual is the same for A800/A810-so you can check and compare. Download it from here: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download.php?fileid=36899
  23. But you can drag snd drop tracks and videos. I have transfered a lot of music to my A815 using drag and dropping from iTunes.
  24. Seems to be not sold in Australia at the moment-would buy if became available here.
