what model recorder are you using?
-
You got a really really good deal at $15. Real time recording's not that bad, just set up a playlist on the computer and hook that pc-link up and put the MD in Sync record, and let it go while you do other stuff.
-
Reduces (eliminates?) magnetic field I think.

Regular MDs should work. LP2 on a 74 minute disc would net you about 148 minutes. Use an 80 minute disc to get 160. Try converting your files before you transfer. For Regular legnth (SP) select ATRAC3 (not plus) and 292 kbps. LP2 is ATRAC3 132 kbps. LP4 is ATRAC3 66 kbps.

First, we already have a topic on this, old news. Second, its not Hi-MD, nor is it Sony, the writer of the article must be confused. But, hey, thanks for trying to contribute, and welcome to the forums. Hope you'll stick around.

Yeah, it was the buffer.

Hungerdunher, as expected, that is also the case for the American manual. Apparently, Sony decided that people shouldn't be able to edit from the unit.
-
the science behind that is that chemical reactions are slowed at lower temperature (ie lower engery).

For importing files, instead of dragging, I suggest scanning them in. Just select "import from folder" from the "music source" tab.

I saw MArch of the Penguins in theater...good stuff. Last movie I saw was "Exiled: A Law and Order Movie".

Is that prepackaged with a USB to Digital out?
-
Leaf, at that point it be worth it to dual-boot XP on a better machine (from the way you worded your post, it sounded like you have better machines running something other than linux).

For US eBayers, there's usually about 450 items availble, Searching "Minidisc". You can turn up some more by searching "Mini disc" but some of those are the same that are listed in the first search.

I'm getting my RH10 this christmas...funny thing...My parents tell me how much they're budgeting for christmas, and then I shop for what I want. They have final "clearance" though.

I'm surprised 128 kbps MP3s ever cut it for you. Guess your old headphones were never that good to begin with.

I don't use these and the manual states that they are only necessasry when hooking the recorder up to the computer, so I don't bother. You shouldn't have any problems if you don't use them, they're only there to conform some type of FCC standards. Who wants to use a remote with one of those things on it anyway?

The Sonic Stage Back-Up Tool. If you haven't changed your program folders on the start menu, it should be in the same folder as Sonic Stage. If you don't have the shortcut still, it should be in C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage as Omgbkup.exe.

Reguarding Compliation CDs... I had view selected as album and sort by selected as album, I right-clicked and selected properties and there's a nice little "compilation" check box. When you have multiple tracks with the "compliation" box checked, then the artist name displayed will be the last one checked. However, when you double click to view the tracks on the album, then you see each track still has its original artist name. I just tested it, and you can change the artist name in album view by right-clicking to properties and it won't affect the track artist names.

Can tracks and data on MD be fragmented?
akijikan replied to akijikan's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Of course the answer lies in the FAQ on minidisc.org http://minidisc.org/faq_sec_3.html#_q15 -
I was reading the Wikipedia article on MD for kicks and notice this note after the anti-skip explanation section: So the audio tracks on an MD can be fragmented? I always assumed that this wasn't the case, but it makes sense, considering its a rewritable format.

Sh4ggy, I know what you mean in wish b. I have many "Various Artists" CDs (ie samplers, compilations, etc) that are split into many albums, one for each artist...why can't I just have that be one album. At least in Album play mode on the MD it is able to group them when it lists the album.
