Not to ruffle feathers or spark attacks , But I have watched and Listened to Avrin ever since I joined this forum ( Some 3 0r 4 years now ) under a different moniker What I have seen is that Avrin has Check , Rechecked , Double rechecked each and every fact he has posted , before posting it . He is also the one who First did all the direct Frequency analysis on the MD sound files and recording comparisons , he has also done more to Hack the MD;s than anyone here . Figuring out The RH10 , to get Sp mode out of it , All kinds of other investigations into the service modes that none of you really would dare to go . Also , the Laser thing as that I have quite a bit of experience in Electronics Avrin is correct , it is a common practice among Portable CD Players , and DVD players To overclock them so they break down in a years time , Which they almost always do , Your electronics come with a 90 day warranty in a lot of cases and 1 year in others for a reason . No Conspiration , just basic business practice in the modern age . i am a repair man . I have done it for a living for the past 30 years .......... I have seen the changes . Avrin is in My opinion one of the most respectable members here , above and beyond any contribution I have ever made to the board in some 3000 posts Plus he is Russian , with perfect English , which tells me it isnt the ONLY other language he speaks , probably at least 4 languages , Indicating his intelligence and attention to detail . Well I just got thru watching the Mac Address ....Or Keynote I think a lot of decision making was done without Steve knowing and he basically admits that saying that other basically ran the company while he was away . So these glitches once brought to light may be repaired who knows . There was a Security update this morning of 172 Mb ( I always download those ) ....... Maybe it contains the bug fixes for Safari as that afterward I went to the Safari Page to read about the Req's and it stated that this security update should be in place before downloading Safari /......... Begging the question , Why was it released without the update to begin with >>>>>? ???? I sense disorganization within the ranks at Apple now , and the Keynote was less than stellar , with the exception of Video added to the iPod Nano and a Mic with a Recording Program , and and FM radio built in . That makes it more attractive , If the Radio is halfway decent , The recording function will make for Bootlegs all over the place , depending on the Mic and Preamp in it . The Video sound wasnt awful , but wasnt stellar . It is a YoutUbe machine basically .

O2 R , was a Nice small mixer , Full Automation , and Digital Pathway throughout . lots of Busses , and flexible signal path routing, Coupled with Lexicon , and Adat XLT's or Protools , it is a good intro to Engineering indeed . I will just say this , I have had my hands on a Sony MP3056 at one point , have used Allen and Heath , and many others ,....Good times . The RH1 , is one of my Favorite machines as well , an AT-822 mic with it , and Wow ....... some serious sound capture . Nice to meet you to .

You are quite incorrect , It isnt about volume ...... you missed the point . It is about control , When a Speaker ( or Headphone in this case) doesnt have enough power to stabilize it during transitions of Transient Peak to Peak +/- , ( what is known as Damping Factor ) then the results will be a weakening in the amplifiers ability to present transparent audio and distortions will be introduced in the audio signal chain . when there is the right amount of Power , then at LOWER volumes the speakers ( Phones) have enough power to maintain the Damping Factor , and present a Fuller Spectrum of Audio Frequencies at the given Volume . Higher or Lower resistance Phones are not the issue Control over the sound is , You shouldn't have to have your volumes up that loud to hear the full spectrum , You should have the Power to translate it at ANY given volume Th Use of a headphone amp will very quickly show you what I just said here Get a FiiO E5 ( Very Cheap ) and try that ......... you will hear a VAST difference in the quality of sound at the SAME volume levels .

Ok , here is the Deal , I had removed iTunes from my system , and did quite well without it for awhile . But the New iTunes 9 is supposed to be LP or Album View , like as in Fold open your Vinyl Record LP View . with interactive menu's and such . I thought that might be kinda cool so I updated this morning QuickTime and iTunes , and deselected Safari 4.03 , because of the problems people are having with it , and the Safari Forums are loaded with examples .So No Safari 4 here 3.23 is working fine . Anyway ,.......... I open iTunes , it does its usual things ( except a little faster ........hmmm maybe they fixed it ) Agrre to terms etc. Open it up , grab a Radio station , opened really fast this time and a LOT more stations than before , ( Hey , I think Cool this is ok !!) Then I try to access the iTunes Store .............. Bad Move . If you do not have Safari ( your Browser which shouldnt have ANYTHING to do with iTunes store access) If you do not have Safari 4.03 on your system you cannot access the iTunes store .......... Here is where the Legality gets involved All the Mac Users who are on G3 , G4 machines , or Are on Tiger or Panther OS's and have already redeemed a bunch of iTunes credits so you have a Lot of credit in your account . ........ YOU WILL NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS , to WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR . Let me put this in more simple terms ( sortof ) If you do not have a Machine running the newest OS and Safari 4.03 , you will not be able to use the iTunes Store , even if you already have money in it . Theft by Default , is anywhere from a Class2 misdemeanor , to a Felony depending on the Money involved . also , Your will be FORCED to buy the Software to upgrade to have access , that is called Market Monopolization , and is also illegal . mark these words , there will be either correction on Apples part or a Class action Lawsuit very soon . I only have 150 yen invested so it isnt a big deal to me , I can live without iTunes . But for those who have HUGE libraries of music . ............. Bad Move Apple

Your recordings that are done in HiMD mode will upload in WAV format to your desktop . Title all tracks before Uploading ( Using the same software ) Just select ,type and hit enter for each track as you edit, then Select all , Upload to your desktop , put them in a Folder for Burning , I Use" Burn " for Mac , because it is very clean , does it well and does it free , Data Discs , Audio , DVD , Divx , MP3 , etc

He wasnt being exactly correct . If you go to The website it shows which models it will work with , M100, M200 , M10 etc , The M stands for Mac compatible but with limitations , I have the RH1 and the RH10 , the RH10 isnt supposed to upload , but if I record in the RH1 , then put the disc in the RH10 it will , because the software is reading the disc header not the machine . If I record in the RH10 then try to upload it gets picky , I can Title and edit, move, delete and transfer MP3 -> the RH10 . There was a Patch for it on some forum elsewhere ( Private forum , and I cant remember but it isnt associated with the Minidisc .org I think it was in Europe . But the Uploading is limited to certain HiMD units , not all of them will upload , he was incorrect in that statement .

I just went to the Apple Website , and looked at the new iTunes ...... Vinyl just became digital .............. the new View of iTunes is " LP " mode , ( not to be confused with MDLP for the newbies) But the View is Album cover view instead of CD cover art ...... fold open Album cover with interactive menu ,.......... My Real Vinyl is interactive .... honest . You have to interact with it to get the sound off of it .

Somewhat agreed , ......... Cd's and most other tangible media are being eroded , ......I bought a "Pristine " , I mean EXTREMELY clean Boston album on Vinyl yesterday for just 100 yen , a Dollar by US standards ........ It actually hurt my feelings .. and there is no way the Downloaded version of the same will sound even remotely as good .

Yeah 340 is about New Here in Japan as well . But the Economy is hard ( Jobless rate at 5.7 percent accounted , which does NOT include the unaccounted rural suburbia , countryside etc .) So Hardoff ( Which is a Recycle Chain store , Recycle as in Buy /Sell used gear ) has been extremely busy lately people are hurting for cash . so they are selling the gear to Hardoff

I had a discussion with someone else , who couldnt get it to run right until the HiMD Monitor was removed , then they started the App manually from Applications folder or a shortcut . Then it ran perfectly . The HiMD Monitor is basically just there to sense the Unit that is connected , so removing just saves a small processor dent .

It works fine on 10.4 though , and 10.5 with a slight Mod .(removal of one part of the app ) Macbook Pro C2D 10.4 Tiger , RH1 , RH10 , DS-HMD1 ( Data Drive )
