No Mac support , or Linux .......... The 40,000,000 plus mac owners and another few million Linux users , translate into another 40,000,000 or so Dollars that sony doesnt see. The same with the Digital Book Readers , I want one , but no Mac support . Hey Sony , Mac isnt just Mac OSX , it is UNIX based , and stable as a rock for those who know how to use it . And coding your Readers and Audio DAP's to work in a Binary environment would make them a lot more functional . and Compatible with all systems . Even if it would just allow direct import , Drag and drop as a External HDD , that would be cool , That alone would make the Book Reader viable for me , and make the DAP somewhat attractive as well

Hey Chris , just tried it , .............. Easy on the eyes . I like it . sometimes the brighter themes get hard to look at after a while . This makes the text pop right out . Thanks for the option .

Find an MZ-R50 in good shape , and record real time , to make REALLY good MDSP discs . They will play on your Nak , ...... Nakamichi in his car ............. Jealousy abounds.

I will get to work on that , ............ scavange some parts from these new dice sized MP3 players ( Case , Headphone jack , battery ) ,...... the new Micro SD cards are getting bigger in capacity smaller in size , so that should be the medium to use I think . Actually Stephen , this is something I think I will agree with you on ...... Atrac CD's left a lot of people I know shaking their heads , saying to themselves " Yeah great i can play this on my portable , but nowhere else , My Car wont play it , my Home system wont play it " etc and the Portables that Played Atrac when they came out were fairly high for a Portable CD player so it wasnt a real turn on . But they do sound good .

The Preamp is s the RIAA EQ curvature , without it the record will sound like a cat caged in a Tin bucket on a Hot day Some turntables have the preamps built in and have a Standard Line out . I have one of those , and Transfer a lot of Vinyl to Md ,

Well ,...... hmm Win 7 is really supposed to be a Fix for Vista . So I cant see MS ditching support for software they formerly supported just to change the system .I dont think that would be very wise of them at this point , Considering the debacle with Vista . Yeah you have to get into service mode , and change some addresses , Avrin over at the md forums , did that and was able to get standard MD Mode , but only SP not LP2 or LP4 , and he lost the MP3 ability . The Hardware and software is in the RH10 , Mine even accidentally STARTED recording in MD mode once , then 4 seconds later it Changed its mind ( AI at work here ) and started flashing Cannot Record , but there was in Fact 4 seconds of SP mode audio ............ The Firmware is crippled to keep it from doing all the goodies . But the Hardware is there . Go figure ........ I really like the RH10 , It is just a cool looking easy to use piece of gear ( please Refrain from the other Piece of...... phrase ......... all you 40 GB total library toting ........ Video Watching , .........Internet Browsing .......... um ....... crap I am running out of words here . Negative mark on the side .......... again For WHAT ????

I can understand not using the E3 with the 212's The E3 has a Bass enhanced curve added in from the start and cannot be turned off . I bought the E5 for that reason ( Gave my kid the E3 ) The E5 you can turn the Bass off for a Neutral presence and it has Volume control . Pretty cool for such a tiny gadget (............ now where did I put the dang thing ?!??!?) Nobody Move . Oh your only allowed to say that when the contacts drop to the floor

We need more Power I built small solar setups for mine , but also have several Battery Packs , AA and Lithium Packs Here is my RH10 happily charging away on a 3.2 volt cell I made with an output of 430 ma's Not bad . It has enough power to drive the RH10 with no battery in it so I have all day power for recording .

We have Volume Hacks , Kanji Hacks , Region Hacks ( there all at the Md forums ) But has Avrin ever figured out how to get the rest of the RH10 to cooperate , He had a Hack for SP recording at the loss of MP3 playback .......... I wonder if there has been any further developement . The RH10 , should have been the RH1 ......... Just to cool looking , if it could only do ALL the RH1 does .

I have the Experience of studio engineering so I have heard the Phones that noone can buy unless a company does it for you . BUT : ......... We live in the real world ( sortof ) and most people have phones that are in the 20 dollar to 50 dollar range , Well , They are ok and some good ones can be had for that price , but you miss a lot of the real sound quality. In the 100 dollar range , the quality increases dramatically from standard earbuds , to over the ear "Cans " as we call them . I have had the Sennheiser PX100's ( most MD'ers will agree on those ) But currently use the AKG K-420's ( which I really like ) Yesterday I got a chance to listen to the new Sennheiser HD-238 Compact phones designed for DAP's ........ I tried all three models 228 ( 7000 yen ) , and the the Hd218 ( 4,980 yen ) But the Senn's Hd-238 really took me by surprise at 9,800 yen ....... i will definately be getting a pair of these . Very Comfortable , Very clear , solid sounding and detailed . Me Likes ! So what's on your noggin ??

Hello . .......... I dont mind the speed issue at all , the world is moving to fast for my taste . But as to Analogue gear , here is one hint ,,,,,, we are rebuilding an old TC- 2860SD Portable stereo cassette recorder , Have all the circuit working now . Just ned to find the Belt for it , as that the Belt is way loose . But Record functions and Play FFW RRW , Mic inputs everything else are working nicely . I had a TCD-5M that the flywheel motor and some other irreplaceable parts fried on me ........... I cried over that one . That Tape deck with a good Metal tape in it and My AT 822 , was better than any digital recorder I have used . Warmth , Fatness , Clarity . Pristine capture of the subtlest of Nature , to a Raging Thunderstorm , or Rock concert . I like Drag and drop , and have the Tascam DR07 for that . But My HiMd the RH1 works Perfectly with my Mac , so if I use it to record the Upload is basically Painless , just enough time to get a cup of coffee and it is done . Me and My Kid also like the 12 inch Vinyl sound ..... He has a very good set of ears ( Have no idea where he got them .... he he he he ) But I am slowly getting him into audio engineering . We spend a fair amount of time browsing Audio shops and Recycle shops looking at older Studio Reel to Reels . There is a Fostex R8 sitting at one place for about 200 dollars in Pristine condition , but I am not doing studio work anymore . Drag and Drop is good for Grab and Go ......... but I am not on the Run .....
