Mikami
I often listen to music while ridding to and from work on trains, my bike, or walking to my apt, even at work.(By the way trains, even crowded ones, are silent in side most of the time at least where I am. Everyone is listing to their protable players or reading.) I also, like to trade MD's with friends. Sometimes, I listen and sing to MD's with co-workers in a karaoke box. Minidisc almost anywhere and in time, Mikami
dex Otaku
I tend to use my HiMD as a portable player when walking places. I have no vehicle and tend to avoid public transit, so my walks to friends' houses can take up to an hour or more, and it's nice to have accompaniment, so to speak.I also wear my NH700 and 'phones when cleaning house, because it's more convenient than turning the stereo up, which might bother my neighbours. Fat Tires
I use my phones when traveling, shopping, sitting around at the PC while my family is asleep. Basically I listen with headphones most anytime I'm alone.
KJ_Palmer
I listen to my portable(s) travelling/walking to and from work- on the train and walking. I try not to listen too much as it's somewhat antisocial and birdsong etc. is nice , but with Hi-MD I've got a lot of music to get through these days...I hardly ever use my portable at home, preferring my home stereo setup... Bananatree
I don't have a ton of friends around campus that I regularly talk to, so anytime I'm not in lecture, I usually have my headphones on. If not, it's because my iPod has no battery, or I didn't feel like lugging my ATH-a500s around (since they are huge).Mikami, I assume you are from Japan. I agree about the public transit systems there, they are something to be sought after for other countries. The courtesy, comfort and noise levels are usually very pleasing (well, comfort is an issue when travelling during rush hour).
bland10000
Whenever I leave my house, I have my md unit clipped to my belt and phones in/on my ears. I always remember to have my unit but not always my keitai. At home I use it in the late evenings so as not to disturb my neighbors with the speaker setup I have. The comfort of 66 eggos makes it no hassle at all.
Bananatree
That is very true, the Eggos probably have the best comfort level of any headphones I've ever used.
Christopher
On the way to work, doing stuff in the backyard, whilst I do the dishes, sometimes even when I'm on the computer.

roguefan99
Riding my bike (to and from work) usually is the most. On the bus if its raining. I wear it when I go shopping, especially if I'm going CD shopping because I generally hate the music thats played in most stores. One store (JB-Hifi) will give me ear aches because of the subwoofer dispaly is up so loud.I occasioanlly have it on where I work. The other guys in my lab have a radio (bad music again!), and I get annoyed by it so I usually chuck in a game soundtrack and work to that (no words to break my concentration). Mikami
Next time I go shopping, my portable is deffinately coming. I don't know why I didn't think of this before.← That's a good idea , esp since some stores have aweful music in the background!Protect your ears from noise pollution and subliminal messages found in shopping centers. Fat Tires
They're easier to get in Japan than anywhere else. The MDR-D66 "Eggos" are a Japanese product. I only wish they were easier to get here in the USA.
roguefan99
Also very useful for ingoring the questions you get asked "You want Fries with that", "You want [insert "Country" Idol due for release] with that" They dont usually worry about asking for the extras if they see you have the headphones on. Oh if you have them up loud enough they can hear (I'll admit I've done this on a couple of occasions) they usually give you a funny lookNext time I go shopping, my portable is deffinately coming. I don't know why I didn't think of this before.←My Minidisc never leaves my backpack, thus I always have it when I'm out.

streaml1ne
I just ordered a pair of eggos from minidisco last night, looking forward to getting them this week. I was going to get a paid of street style ones to replace my aging pair, but went with the D66 instead.
