tasdisr
I have been thinking of buying a Japanese MZ-RH10 from BuyfromJapanbut notice that they no longer show them on their ebay page. Has anyone heardanything that they have been discontinued? One British site had them listed asdiscontinued.
Ishiyoshi
Their auction listing of MZ-RH10 probably just ended when you visit their eBay page. Try again in a few days.

Christopher
That's correct, but the Euro version can be hacked to enable the full output.

tommypeters
This "gift" tricks works if the customs people are stupid, lazy or both. Here they are usually neither, RMA replacement doesn't work so well any longer either. But it may work well for you.
Christopher
I have never known to have any problems with the "gift" trick in nearly a dozen orders from various Japanese e-tailers/etc.
tommypeters
Maybe since the VAT is so high here they also bother more not to let items pass by the customs unnoticed, good for you...
atrain
scandy taxes are a lot sharper though kuris, there's a lot more to be gained by charging on every package sent.in australia i've never had a problem on 50+ packages. yes i'm a shut in who buys all electronics, clothes & shoes on the internet... tasdisr
I would like to thank everyone for their input. This forum is a great resource!I decided to get a black unit and ordered an American version from Amazonfor $239.88. I had a $25.00 gift certificate for Amazon so it ended up costingme $214.88 with free shipping. The charging stand was not that importantand I will eventually purchase a RM-Mc40elk remote for it. I hope to have it by Friday. Thanks again!!
Daryn Alexander
Sorry if this seems foolish, but I'm new and want to know a few things about this unit before I purchase it as my first MD......what advantages are there betwen this and the other (UK and US) versions of the product?...would language settings be a problem (since I know japanese as well as...not at all)
Petter156
The Europe version is the the most limited of all RH10 models; limited output from the headphones and lacking some player settings (custom EQ). The remote is the standard one without LCD and no charging stand is suplied. The american version is functionally equal to the japanese version but doesn´t come with the LCD remote or a charging stand.Japanese; full set of accessories and no artificial limitations.Edit: european versions can be hacked to offer better settings/full volume. The language on the japanese version can be changed to (at least) English.
