So now I've got these loverley flac files and I can play 'em on me PC. But I'd like to put 'em on me HiMD minidisc.

I should be grateful if you would tell me an easy way to do this. I guess I have to convert 'em to wav or whatever first. What software does that. Nothing complicated please biggrin.gif

^^ Agreed. Google for JetAudio. It's a superb, non-bloatware jukebox that can encode to and from pretty much any format in the market, with the exception of MP3, but that's only a limitation of the free version. As long as you have WMP9 installed, you should be able to convert from FLAC to WMA-L without having to turn into Wav.

A somewhat cumbersome variant, but nevertheless has it's uses:

If you have a complete CD in FLAC files, but without tags and non-descriptive names like "Track 1" a combination of Nero/M-Daemon can be used. Possibly someone gives an easier way of getting exactly the same result.

Download the FLAC plugin for Nero from http://www.bitburners.com/option,com_remos...c,select/id,16/

and install it.

Burn all the tracks from the CD to an (CD Audio) image file with Nero. This goes really fast, since it's written to HD instead of a CD.

Mount that image file with Daemon Tools.

Rip the CD (from the mounted image) using either SonicStage or SimpleBurner. Also this reading goes really fast, since the image file is on HD. All track information is fetched from freedb and the tracks get properly named.
