Ishiyoshi and I were talking about this the other day over IM and I'm quite impressed by this release. I think the ability to quickly rip DVD Audio straight to regular MD in a bookshelf is very nice. Something that confuses me is that it doesn't list DVD Audio as a standard playback format, but one must assume that if it can play DVD Video, then DVD Audio discs would be fine as well -- it would be a little silly if it were otherwise.

I imagine the 2x MD to MD copy is probably analog, but that's a neat feature as well - something that has been seemingly common with MD bookshelves released by Victor in recent times.

Are we talking real DVD audio (multichannel...the rival to SACD) here or just the ability to record audio from from a DVD?
