kilcadzow
I have just got a MZ-NH700. Using SonicStage 3.2 it records fine using NetMD mode, but when I set the recording mode on the NH700 to HiMD, SonicStage refuses to recognise the recorder ie the HiMD mode is greyed out.The USB connection is obviously OK (it saves files form the PC OK as well). I have formatted the MDs to HiMD in the NH700, but still no success. Can anyone please help?
Syrius
I'm not that well-versed on troubleshooting SS, however, I have a hunch that the Personal Audio Driver may fix it. Try searching the downloads section of the forum.Good luck.
Sparky191
Dunno myself. Theres is some stuff in the manual about this though.
kilcadzow
As far as I can see in the manual, it just suggests that the USB connection is not working. Not correct in this case because I can record using NetMD....
tommypeters
Do you use a 1GB disc or an 80min one? If the latter, is it reformatted?
kilcadzow
I'm using a 80min and I've formatted it to HiMD format in the recorder.I had a look around one of the other forums and discovered that SonicStage 3.2 - in certain instances - doesn't recognise HiMD. This appears to be a major flaw in 3.2.The work around is a bit tedious:a) uninstall SonicStage 3.2, delete some directories and references to SonicStage and associated programs in the reg. install the German (yes!!) version 3.0c) re-install 3.2 twice.I've got as far as installing the German version and it does now recognise the HiMD mode. It records fine in Hi-LP etc on HiMD formatted MDs. I'll maybe leave it at that: I know enough words of German to be able to use the program. What a rigmarole..... 1kyle
Try in the menu to change the Disc settings (Disc Mode) to HI-MD mode (on the Minidisc)Cheers-K Edited September 7, 2005 by 1kyle
The Low Volta
I'll maybe leave it at that: I know enough words of German to be able to use the program.just give ss3.2 ontop of the german version a shot, as 3.2 has a whole bunch of improvements over 3.
Richard
just give ss3.2 ontop of the german version a shot, as 3.2 has a whole bunch of improvements over 3.0←Or better still use the internet installer for your own language of SS3.2. I believe this workaround was only to fix problems of HI-MD units not being recognized after having used the MDCF stand-alone installer. So uninstall:Re-install orginal version from discs supplied with your unitUpgrade via Sony site to 3.2 Edited September 7, 2005 by richyhu
