No problems yet, however 3.4 still does not put the track marks in the correct place on my HIMD. still about 0.25 seconds too early so you get the last beat of the song before at the beginning of the track. Not a major issue but slightly annoying at i dont have this problem when recording in NET MD mode with the same device. With regards to the install, everything ran smoothly for me

A couple of people noticed it in 3.3 Whereby trackmarks are put in slightly the wrong place when transferring an album at once. Particularly noticable if the song before ends abruptly as you get the last 0.25 seconds of that track at the beginning of the next one. It doesnt happen when playing an album on the PC, so it is some issue when transferring the album to himd.

Can't say I've ever noticed this but... When you transfer an album, do you go into the album and select all tracks then transfer or... go up to the album view (my view is at Albums/Playlists) then just select the top level album to be transferred? - I always do the latter.

Does this happen with specific bitrates?

Its normally only noticeable with certain cds. If there is silence at the end of the tracks on the CD (like there normally is) you wont notice it. It is most noticeable with continuous mix cds eg dance. It occours with all Atrac bitrates and MP3s when transferring an album at once. I also select the top level album when transferring. I dont get this problem when transferring the same atrac files onto a NET MD formatted disc which is why I think it is some kind of driver issue

Has anyone else had a problem with their computer locking up with the new 3.4 upgrade? Ever since I installed it, I'm having trouble downlouding form CONNECT and SonicStage locks up my computer to the point where I have to "Ctrl/Alt/Delete" out of the program.

It may be a sign from [insert deity of choice] that downloading DRM'd lossy content is wrong, wrong, wrong.

:lol:

I've never tried it so can't actually help, sorry :D

As I understand it, it uses Internet Explorer's code, so might look into some Windows Updates, perhaps?

Any ideas if the tracks do this when transferred back to PC (after being deleted from "My Library", or uploaded to a different computer) with SonicStage 3.4?

Ok I have discovered the problem must be with my CD drive as the songs do this on the computer aswell. I can solve it by ripping each track individually. Odd as no other programmes have this problem with my CD drive, odd!

Every optical drive has a slightly different read and write offset for audio. Programs like Exact Audio Copy can correct this by checking a drive/firmware version database or by using reference discs. Most ripping software do not support this function, so whether your rips have accurate positioning is completely at the mercy of your drive/software combination. Read positioning can also change from rip to rip without correction, and can vary depending on whether you rip an entire disc vs. a single track.

It might help to turn on the "error correction" mode that SS supports, which warns that it can slow ripping down. This probably uses more accurate positioning.

In all honesty, I've turned that option on and left it on since first installing SS 2.1 in mid-2004; I've never run the program with it turned off, and I've never had a problem with a rip that wasn't caused by a faulty disc.

None of the previous versions of SS caused me any major problems concerning stability or responsiveness but now that I have 3.4 I've had to ctrl+alt+del several times because it just stops & does nothing. SS is also incredibly slow, especially when creating or editing playlists, I've never had this problem before. This could be caused by the fact that up to 10 days ago I didn't really have any MP3s/WMAs in my SS library and now I have loads but 3.3 didn't have the same problem when I was using it just 4 days ago.

I'm always a little hesitant about installing newly released software.

Has anyone had ANY problems yet with 3.4? If so, what were they?

Tools-->Options-->Location to save imported files

When I change the folder I am asked do I want to move files and answer 'Yes' files appear to be being moved then SS hangs. After restart folder has not beeen changed. Repeating process hangs again. However, files have been moved so if answer 'No' folder gets changed ok!
