If you haven't already done so, try the Sony Centres in London. Details are here:

http://www.sonycentres.co.uk/dealersearch....&twn=london

But don't expect to get any discount from the full Retail Price (£250)

I managed to get a unit from the SONY CENTRE in Brussels a few weeks ago -- they had 5 in and regularly receive shipments. Give them a call and they will probably ship you a unit to the UK. I don't know their phone number but you can probably google for it.

I had to pay 340 EUR (inc VAT) for the unit so not the cheapest --but at least they had it in stock.

This unit according to that store has been selling EXTREMELY WELL -- and I'm not surprised at all. IMO Sony have more than made up for the very nice looking but flawed RH10 unit.

Anyway give them a call --you never know your luck.

BTW if you visit Brussels the store is easy to find --very near the Grand Place --and if you come by Eurostar you can get tickets from as little as 40 EUR from LONDON to BRUSSELS if you book a few days in advance during July and August.

Perversely this is a generally quiet time in Brussels as a lot of people who work in the city such as E.U commission etc are all off on Holiday over this period).

Cheers

-K

I also paid a visit to the Sony Center on Tottenham Court Road last week, and they were out of stock (so were all the stores I went to). The guy at the counter told me to come back at the end of this week, but I don't think he knows what he's talking about, he just wants to make sure I don't get it somewhere else (well, I already have a RH1, I need to get one for a relative)

I nipped down to the Leeds Sony Centre the other week (admittedly that's not in London, but I figured it was worth mentioning anyway). Up until last week they had a couple in stock at £229.99. Went in yesterday and they'd sold it, with no more stock expected until the end of August/middle of September, "and that's assuming Sony send us any".

Might give ASK Direct a nudge - I've got an RH1 backordered through them, and I'm wondering if they've been affected by Sony's acts of 'creative rescheduling'...

guys guys!!!....

Bought one!... just 10 minutes ago.. on Tottenham court... in a place called Hi -Fi Surplus store.... it is located one block before getting to the Sony Galleria centre... They have like 5 or 6 more /I asked the guy :D so .. hurry!!!.... take advantage those who want one and are in London.... Selling Price is 250 pounds... since it is so hard to get... I would say it worth it!

It came without Hi-MD, but includes the optical cable.... tey are brand news in the box, in case you wonder...

yuhuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

(will need to play later with the unit.. so far it is very small,. much more than I expexted// like half the width of the D10P).... like it!!!

Take a look to eBay site: there are a couple of european vendors (from Germany) that sell MZ-RH1 at a reasonable price (under 300 EUR).

I think hell is likely to freeze over before I buy a minidisc recorder from an eBay seller...

I bought 80% of my MD collection (thats about 18 units) from Ebay-UK sellers. No problem whatsoever :)

I've bought many electronic toys on eBay: I've never found a problem with UK sellers, some problems with german vendors however easily solved.

I did understand that MZ-RH1 for USA market has a blank 1GB Sony MD included, while that for EU market does not have a balnk MD but has an optical cable included.

Last year I did buy my MZ-NH900 (EU model) and I did find both a blank 1GB Sony MD and an optical cable in the box!!!

bsandovalb thanks for the tip!

I purchased my MZ-RH1 today. The guy in front of me also bought one! But they had a stack of them behind the counter, perhaps 7 or 8? Who knows how many more out back. £250.

Great unit and can't wait to test out its recording capabilities.
