doomlordis
Read through other threads and not found similar issue. When i put in a battery (discharged) it charges for 1 - 1.5 hours then screen goes off, now i know it should take 3.5hrs roughly , i have tried this with all 3 of my nh14wms and they all behave the same??If i press stop again it starts charging again for another 1-2 hrs??Maybe i should buy a external charger! e1ghtyf1ve
The screen only stays on for about an hour. After it goes out (at ~80% capacity), charging continues for another three hours or so.Re-check your manual. EDIT: Oops, I keep confusing the RH1 with the RH10. There could be multiple causes for this charging behavior. Did you try cycling the batteries? Do they have a known good capacity? Are the contacts on both the cells and the RH10 clean? milomind
Are you charging through the USB or the adapter? Charging with the USB port will only bring the battery up to 75-80% capacity. In order to fully charge the battery you must use the adapter. it's 3V AC in case you don't have one.
doomlordis
Using supplied 3v adapter, batteries are in good (one new)condition.

The owners manual. The RH1 however, will fully charge from either the adapter, or the computer. Again, from the manual.
romateo
I can't charge the battery. When I push the button 'cancel/chg' I can see for about half a second 'charging' at the led-screen, but actually it doesn't. Any ideas?
Avrin
Try cleaning the battery contacts for a start.
romateo
Tks for your reply, Avrin: battery is brand new. Contacts are clean. I'm still having the problem with another NH-14WM.

Avrin
I did not mean the contacts of the battery itself. The contacts of the unit may also need cleaning. And a fake NH-14WM is not an unheard of thing nowadays. If you turn a NH-14WM battery upside down and see a "FOR NH-10WM" in the middle of the text - it is a fake! Charges in a couple of hours, discharges in 3-4 hours. But it will eventually swell inside the unit, and damage it - so be very carefull! Edited August 16, 2007 by Avrin

Avrin
How should I clean the negative (-) contact that is inside the unit?Forget about it - it almost never gets dirty. Just clean the positive one.I think the battery compartment lid is a bit loose. How can I tight-fit it?This may or may not be a serious problem. Is it loose only when opened? Or is it loose even when closed? In the latter case you've got a problem, since the battery door on the RH[9]10 is a very fragile thing, and any attempt to fix or modify it may lead to serious damage, the door may even be broken completely. Avrin
Then it is not a problem. It should be quite a bit loose when opened. This is by design. Edited August 18, 2007 by Avrin
Avrin
I still can not explain your "remove the disc, and then it charges happily" discovery.
romateo
Yes, it's strange. Anyway, now I can charge batteries with the disc inside the unit.
