NW-A1000 & REMOTES

Question

I have an RM-MC35ELK remote I bought off of ebay last year to go with my old minidisc player. I am now thinking of buying the A1000. Will the remote work properly with it? If not whats the best one to get? I have seen older postings here asking the same questions, but I was just wondering if anyone has tried this as yet. I read an older posting regarding the RM-MC33ELK not working properly.

Many people have complained that it`s folder button doesn`t work with A3000/1000.I`m taking about RM-MC35ELK

Yep, Stuge is correct. The folder button doesn't appear to function correctly it usually just selects the next or previous song. Sometimes it will select the first song from different artists or albums depending on the play mode you are in.

Same for the MC38EL which looks the identical except that the volume control is about 2-3mm longer.

The MC33 functions pretty much the same but without a backlit LCD.

I remember that the UK A1000/A3000 support page had a 2-3page PDF manual for the RM-MC35.

I have an MD MZ-NF610 NetMd (with AM/FM/TV included in the remote). I think the unit has a special connection to make the remote work.

Does this remote works with the NW-A1000?, i´m planning to buy one next week.

Can it be modified to, at least, to work as remote in the NW, sacrifying the AM/FM/TV tuner?

Using a remote with the new units is pointless in my opinion, so much faster using the device itself.

Well not if you have your device in a tight or out of the way pocket, or bag or purse, etc... In that case you could have the remote easily accessible somewhere in the open with the player tucked away. I can see how some people do not like to use remotes or find them pointless; but at the same time I can also see how they can be quite useful. It's all up to your personal taste and how you carry your player, I think.

Also i have seen that remote helps to increase the battery life .
